+ -1 moreI was disappointed because I wanted to have a window replaced however they replaced the window, frame and woodwork. Once the window was installed, it had nine panes instead of six like the other windows in my home. The installers told me it would only take a couple of weeks to get the new window and install however it took closer to four. The installation manager did his best to expediate the error. However, we felt that the sales person dropped the ball.

+ 0 moreOnly issue I had with company was I submitted an email request to be contacted and did not hear back after four days. I made a follow up call. Person who answered phone apologized. Didn't know why email wasn't answered. After that all went smoothly from salespersons visit to the home to window measuring through actual installation. Nice to know this company has been around for more than 30 years.
Description of Work: Three years ago had windows on front of house replaced. Very satisfied with product and installation. Called to have back windows (7) and rear entry door replaced now. Door is excellent. Very good seal and fit. Windows are also a quality product. Cleaned up after work was done. Removed all debris. Finished in one day.

+ 0 moreI am very dissatisfied with the outcome. Initially there were 2 or 3 different people that came out and did the measuring. When they came out to do the vinyl around the house they omitted the dormer window and some other areas. I called someone about it and they came out and covered those areas. They replaced the shutters with shutters that were different in width, they were too narrow. Because my white shutters were painted, there was some white paint on the house that was now visible. Those areas should have been covered but because the shutters were too narrow, these areas stood out very badly and looked sloppy. I called them and they finally came out and replaced them with the correct shutters. They came and replaced all of them but shutters on two of the windows. The shutters that they replaced the second time on those two front windows were much wider than all the other shutters, therefore the house does not have a uniform look to it. They also said to me that the shutters were the same as the shutters that were on there before, which they are not. Before they had always been uniform in width.
Description of Work: I have a brick house and it has wood trim along the top by the gutters. They put vinyl over the wood that goes around the whole house. They also put the vinyl around a dormer window and replaced my white wooden shutters with black vinyl shutters.

Description of Work: Replaced old aluminum windows. Sales rep was very good. Installation crew was a little messy, had to pick up aluminum after they left but overall they were still great!!

+ 0 moreI would give them a good recommendation. I was satisfied with their product and service. They came back after the initial installation to correct some flaws after settling. I was satisfied that they followed-up even though it was a few months later. They corrected one little problem around the window which was actually my fault, not theirs. I had dented the aluminum window sill. When they came out to correct other minor things, they also took care of this. I greatly appreciate it.
Description of Work: Window replacement and siding on the house. I used them in 2009 and 2011.

+ -1 moreThey were the highest of three prices but we chose them based on the quality of the material, a promise of one week completion and a factory trained installation crew. The crew we got consisted of two men and an old beat up pickup truck. One of the men had a crippled foot. He never left the ground and spent most of the time sitting on the tail gate. The other man, who was in an almost constant bad mood, did the entire removal and installation by himself. Instead of a week as promised they were on site a total of 14 working days. Since I had to be there at all times this was a huge inconvenience. Another employee from Champion had to return at a later date to replace siding that was installed too short. The shutters were a complete fiasco, they ordered the wrong size, installed crooked, etc.
Description of Work: They were contracted to remove our old vinyl siding and install new vinyl siding and shutters.

Description of Work: I had a screened in back porch that in the winter months my son made frames with visqueen to cover the screens. They lasted for over 17 years. My son is aging and becoming more difficult for him to place the frames so I started looking for a company to put storm windows on my porch. I started to look around and the minimum cost I got was $5000.00 with no guarantee of their work. Then I received an ad magazine which had Champion's ad stating that they had lifetime guarantee on their windows and also a five year finance free promotion. An angel fell at my feet. My salesman was very professional and took his measurements and started to figure the cost. I was waiting for an estimate well over the $5000.00 because of the lifetime guarantee. Much to my surprise, my quote was $3000.00. Needless to say, I signed on the spot. I sure also note here that I contacted the Better Business Bureau for a report and they gave them a AAA rating and no complaints. I have had the windows installed and the difference in my porch is now a 3 season room where it was only a summer porch. I am so pleased with the professional installation. I am one happy camper and my son is happy, too, because he has less work to prepare my home for the winter. I was washing the windows one day and raised one of the windows and when I walked away it came smashing down and distorted the window and broke the seal. I called Champion with the intention of me paying as I felt it was my fault by not making sure it had locked into the bracket. They came took new measurement for the window and replaced it at no cost to me. I was told they are guaranteed even though I let it slip my grip. Balls, stone, wind, hail, footballs, etc, if they break they will replace free of charge. Now that is a company I will definitely will use again and recommend to anyone for any kind of windows. They are a company who does what they say. It isn't just lip work. I highly recommend Champion, in fact, I will be calling them to see if they have a good door to put on the porch. I thank Champion for being a company of their woord

+ -1 moreThey did a horrible job. I had to get on the phone on a Sunday & call the sales person & verbally threaten that I’d put it in every paper that they’d done an awful job & they fixed it. The workmanship is so shoddy. They did come back out but it wasn’t much better - maybe 30% - after it was done. The windows don't line up or open or close properly; everything is wavy & uneven, & every single screen has popped out. I’ve had other contractors on that patio ask me who did such a horrible job!

+ 1 moreoverall with the windows it went fine. When we got to the Doors we lost all satisfaction with this company. I will never do business with Champion again.
Description of Work: Champion did fine with the windows. SO we ordered two insulated doors and a storm door. The service for the doors was horrible. The first installation of the doors, they sent two people who the company have had problems with. These two men messed up our first set of doors. The doors were damaged before they were instaulled. The work was not completed so we had to call them to come back to finish. We have had problems from day one with there doors. The storm door and front door had to be replaced again do to damage from the company. We have had to call them to come out at least half a dozen times to fix things and each time the problem did not get fixed and it would be between 3 to 6 weeks before they would come out. Couple of times they did come out immediately because I demanded to speak to the sales rep we delt with.The second time the front two doors were installed it took them about 4 months from the time the doors had to be ordered again and for installation this is after we were told it would be only a couple of weeks. We are still having problems with the storm door. The last person who came out to look at the storm door from champion said they are having and had problems with the particular storm door. I want to know why you would sell a product to the public that the company is having problems with. I asked the sales person if the company manufacture has a quality control department that inspect each product before the products are installed, and he said "No". As expensive as there windows and doors are they need to have a department that checks everything for damage and quality. They do have a life time warranty on all their products. We are still having problems with there storm door. We are very unhappy with Champion and will discourage any one from doing business with them. Champion told my husband the problems with our doors are now our problem and when we called corporate office for the second time they acted as if they did not remember talking to my husband. I also know they have a big turn over with their installers.

This was after the lawn sign discount as well as the $500 discount we received for "going into the showroom before the salesman came to the house". What kind of made up discount is that?? The quality of the door seemed to be amazing but we just could not justify (or trust) the price.

+ 0 moreWe visited the showroom in Westlake and we're impressed with the demo's showing how their insulated 360 glass performed in cold and hot weather. These doors were installed in Sept. of 2009 and we are writing this report at the end of June 2010 and we can say that the patio door performed as advertised over the winter and now the 90 degree heat of summer. We were happy with the sales person who was knowledgeable and wasn't overly pushy although we got the typical "this price is good for today". The installation crew was excellent, they did a good job and were very neat. The only negative is that Champion does not finish the interior moulding which they replaced. This is the homeowner's responsibility. Guess what, it's 9 months later and I still haven't gotten to it so I wish that this was part of the service. The exterior trim is vinyl and looks beautiful. Overall, we are quite satisfied with our patio doors
Description of Work: Replaced two (2) standard 6 foot patio doors with Champion vinly sliding patio doors with 360 comfort glass. Champion also removed and dicarded for us two rusted wrought iron storm doors which covered the old patio doors.

+ -1 moreThere were multiple problems with the installation; Mike from Champion became like an extended member of our family, he was there so often to correct them! The worst was leaking under one of the windows that caused damage to the wall. Yikes! I wouldn't recommend these guys - unless they have REALLY improved.

+ -1 moreAfter 2 months of paying Champion I was unable to continue paying at the moment due to two other unrelated roofing contractors taking my money and not performing any of the work they were hired to perform. My insurance company was involved due to a claim with it due to hail damage and unfortunately it turned out I had to pay off the contractor. This was actually unrelated to the Champion work, but regardless these were the circumstances in which I was faced with mid contract with Champion. It was at this time that Champion agreed to install 2 of the 8 windows with the $1800 I had already paid them. This was actually in August and now here we are in October and in speaking with them they are now refusing to install any of their product until the balance is paid in full which is $5,624. They are not allowing me to get out of their contract and now I feel as if I am being held hostage with my own money. I had even agreed to take a significant loss due to breaking the contract, and they are unwilling to work with me on my terms.
Description of Work: I hired Champion to install 8 windows. The payment plan I chose was to pay in installments of $900.
