If someone asks me about using them or hiring them, I would tell them not to do it and find somebody else. I liked the garage door that he painted. He did an excellent job and it came out really nice, but when it came to the kitchen, he actually really did not even complete the job. He was supposed to paint all the cabinets and one was in the bathroom. After he left and I paid him and it must have been a week later, I noticed he did not paint the side of the cabinet. I called him and he said he will be back, but he did not come. I kept calling. I spent a week calling him just asking what kind of paint it is and that I would do it myself. He would not even return my phone calls on that.
Description of Work: I used a painter that a friend recommended because I had some vandalism on my garage door. He did a good job on my garage door and he got me to hire him to paint my kitchen cabinets and it left a lot to be desired. It was called Bob & The Boy’s.

It was a 3-day process; each day required from 2-6 hours of work due to 'drying time' requirements. The team consisted of Bob and two workers. Most of the work only involved the two workers; Bob spent only a few hours doing the work. Although they were pleasant, they were very, very unprofessional. 1. They did not show up at scheduled time. 2. At least one of them was on the cell phone almost entirely while performing work. Personal calls. 3. The carpet was never cut up and tied , but simply just rolled-up thrown out by the curb. I had to cut it into short lengths and tie according to trash pickup requirements. 4. The worker removing the floor tacks was on the phone while performing the job and did a very poor job. I had to remove many tacks after they left. 5. They were permitted to get water from bathtub as needed. After they left I noticed that the plastic spray holder was broken, which is really neither expensive nor difficult to replace, but the fact that they broke it and simply covered it up speaks of their lack of professionalism. 6. LAST AND MOST IMPORTANT:They did not restrict themselves to the single room, but wandered into other bedrooms and areas of the house where there was absolutly no 'contractor' reason to be there. "Coincidentally" several pieces of jewelry that were in dresser drawers were found to be missing within a week after completion of their work. "Coincidence #2" Neighbor was also having work done by them at the same time and also had jewelry coming up missing. Official police reports were submitted.
Description of Work: Bedroom walls: Washed walls of excess glue from wallpaper; patch walls where necessary and prime and paint a 12 x 12 room. Remove carpeting from floor; remove tacks and tack strips and properly cut and tie carpet for trash pickup. LABOR ONLY. Paint and primer provided. Stucco was the only material provided by contractor.

On first inspection the work was excellent. We paid Bob(11/22/06). The ceiling contained 8 can lights which we informed Bob we would paint ourselves and re-install. Two days later we discovered only 7 can lights. Upon further inspection of the ceiling 1 can light had been covered by drywall. Bob left a message acknowledging the mistake and would repair the issue. Since that time we have left numerous messages to reschedule the repair. We have decided to repair the error ourselves. Our issue is that Bob still has a house key and although we have made countless phone calls he has not returned our key or returned a phone call. We will now be forced to endure the expense of changing the locks on our home.
Description of Work: Installed new drywall to living room ceiling/foyer along with prime and paint. Painted living room walls.
