Big Lou's Electric

We were extremely happy with Lou and all the work performed in our home. Lou was easy to work with, trustworthy, a great communicator, and reasonably priced. He really went the extra mile and I would use Lou again and recommend him to anyone who needs electrical work!

Lou is a great person to work with, and his work is very professional. He was on-time and on-budget. He even gave my folks a senior discount. He took some time to talk with my dad, who just turned 90, but used to do all the electrical and any repair work around the house. I know my dad felt great to be included like that. Hire Lou. You'll be glad you did!

I only called one electrician for this job simply because of the reviews here on Angie's List. I am so glad I did! It took about a week from the initial call to the actual completion of the job, but Lou called frequently to keep me updated on his schedule and even offered to come out on a Sunday. (I refused and told him to enjoy his weekend! It was not an urgent need!) We are installing outdoor landsacpe lighting, but needed an outdoor outlet. Lou reviewed the best placement for the fixture, discussed the installation process and stated the fee. It was so refreshing to have the business discussed upfront, very transparent. Lou was quick, neat, and the lighting company commented on what a great job our electrician had done. They said the fixture he used was top notch. Needless to say, I am a very happy customer! Overall, Lou is very professional, as well as personable, and did a great job. I will definitely call on him again for any future needs.

Lou did an excellent job explaining the job before starting. He provided different options and explained the difference of each option. Lou was very friendly to work with and provided follow up call to see how everything was working.

I found Lou on Angie's List and called him. He responded promptly and set up an appointment time that worked around our unusual family schedule. He provided a quote in about a week...which I have found to be typical for this type of work. When he was there, he pointed out some areas that we hadn't even thought about and he answered all of our questions. Including the ones from the 2 year old. He came to do the work as scheduled and was done on time. He was conscious of keeping the area clean and did thouroughly clean up the area for any debris he may have caused. Lou found that one area he had quoted us for didn't need replaced so he credited us the difference which we found to be very honest. It's possible that we never would have known that he didn't do this work so him openly telling us that it wasn't necessary and then offering us the credit was impressive. We will be hiring Lou again for some additonal work and would gladly share his name with anyone needing an electrician.

When I needed electrical work, I went on Angie's List & ultimately chose Lou because of all the good reviews he had. He certainly lived up to his excellent reputation. Lou is a hard worker with a great personality. Right off the bat, he comes across as very polite & personable. He gives you honest advice on what you should/shouldn't fix and gets the work done in a timely manner. He was always very accommodating with my schedule & came when he said he would. He brings all of his own materials and tools. For the big sub-panel job, he went & picked up some materials on his lunch break but let me know exactly what he was buying & how much they'd cost before he went. There were no hidden costs or delays. He's very professional & his affability made it one of the best experiences I've ever had with a repairman in my home (& with all of the renovations I've done, I've had a LOT of workers.) I wholeheartedly & highly recommend Lou. His Angie's List discount doesn't hurt either!

Lou was punctual and extremely professional and friendly. The contract he provided was very clear and well writen. He answered all my questions and promptly replied to all my email and phone calls. He did an incredible job and even cleaned up the mess! Lou will definitely be the person I call when I need electrical work preformed. I have and will continue to recommend him.

The only issue I had was their scheduling. I'm sure the extreme rainy weather we've experienced this past summer played into account, but it would have been appreciated to have a little more notice of cancellation, instead of either not informing me, or informing me a few hours before. Everything else was perfect ... they did a GREAT job!

Lou was referred by a trusted contractor I used in the past. I was concerned about some outlets in my older home and he assured me all were in pretty good shape with the exception of one in the kitchen for which he replaced. I would definitely use him in the future should the need arise. He seems very honest and knows what he is doing.

Lou is a great person to work with. He responded to every phone call and email. He provided contracts that were clearly written. He cleaned up all his work. He was very punctual and professional. He took time to talk with my 89 year-old-dad who used to do all the wiring and fixing around the house. I think Lou should be commended for his professionalism and the quality of his work.

Lou is a real pro and I can't say enough good things about him. He dug into things on the quote and found out that we maybe did not need to replace the underground feed from the transformer. He followed up with CEI and verified that, which saved us some big money. He gave a detailed estimate. He showed up exactly when he said he would. He left the house cleaner than when he came-LOL!. The quality of the work was just outstanding and he walked us through everything that was done. It was a real pleasure working with him and I'd hire him in a heartbeat for any future jobs.

I can not say enough good things about Lou - the quality of his work was beyond wonderful, he was just a great person to have come into my home. He was prompt, performed the work at the estimated price, my house is so much safer than it was before the storm now (so maybe that is the silver lining). I am not thrilled that I had to have a new meter installed, but if it had to happen, I am just glad Lout was there to fix it for me. I have already given his name and number to 3 friends who need electrical work performed. I am so glad I joined Angies List - I never would have found him without it - Thanks!!!!

I have never met Lou. We corresponded via email and spoke on the phone. My almost adult teen children who were at the house while he was here told me he was awesome. He came over to do an estimate and actually had the time to complete the work so he did. He explained everything to me (over the phone as I was at work) and to my son. He did a great job, explained it what was done in regular-speak as opposed to electrian-speak. He cleaned out one bathroom fan and it sounded fine, but then started making that gravelly sound again, so he's coming back out. He even stopped off at the house on a Sunday to drop off the new fan part (who does that?) Just a very nice, conscientious guy. ________________________________________________________________ UPDATE! My mother is pondering replacing her kitchen ceiling fan and removal of wiring where a light fixture used to be. Lou stopped over to give her an estimate. Just before he arrived her dryer kicked a breaker. He was kind enough to check the breaker AND the dryer (it was getting 'juice' so it's inside the dryer somewhere) while he was there. She LOVED him and will recommend him to all of her friends. Thanks, LOU!

Overall the experience went well. My sanitary sewer had just backed up a couple days before and the basement had things moved and stacked everywhere. I followed him around to help move things out of his way and he wasn't bothered by it at all. He is quite knowledgable and is willing to answer any of your questions. I also had him look at a couple more things that I will probably have done in the future. I would definitely recommend him to others.

He is terrific. He went above and beyond and fixed some older wires, which wasn’t even part of the job. No problems – he was just all-around good.

Fantastic start to finish. Lou was very professional, did excellent work, explained everything he did, cleaned up afterwards. I discussed some additional work with him and he gave me honest feedback concerning the work. I will call Lou again for any other electrical jobs in the future and would recommend him highly.

Excellent start to finish.. When Lou came back to do my Air conditioners he noticed that the Electric Company had not come out yet to do my upgrade.. The next day First Energy was here and finalized what needed to be done.. I would have never known or noticed.

When my husband called on a Wednesday, Big Lou was honest and said he wasn't sure how soon he could come out due to other jobs, etc. Due to past experience with contractors, we weren't expecting to hear from him for several days if not a few weeks. To our surprise, he called my husband at work that Friday to let him know he was at our house! Since the light post was outside, he didn't need us to be there to take a look. About 10 minutes later, he called back to state that he replaced the sensor and everything should be working fine. This was great news to us since we both work and it's sometimes difficult to take time off for things like this. We really appreciated that Big Lou was able to get this done so quickly and easily. Our electric went out in part of the house and we had Lou check it for us. We also had Lou put in an electric outlet for us. Very nice guy. Did a wonderful job.

Lou did an outstanding job with quoting the work and explaining everything he was going to do. I felt very comfortable with the work he proposed before the work even started. Lou did all of the work himself, and everything was done exceptionally well. He is always professional, but is also very personable, and a pleasure to have done business with.

We just moved into a new home, and during the inspection, we were told the electric panel needed to be replaced. It was a complete mess. Lou came in and had to start from scratch. He took his time and make sure everything was wired corrected. He was meticulous with his work, to be sure every breaker was wired corrected and label accordingly. I am so completely pleased with the work he did, I would without hesitation recommend him to anyone. He was courteous, VERY knowledgable, and honest about his work. I find it important to point out that during the initial consultation, Lou fixed a damaged wire leading to the air conditioner unit and also capped off some exposed wires to a hot tub unit that was removed by the previous owner. He felt it was necessary to fix the exposed wires as I had small children and it posed a safety risk. He did not charge me for these services. Plus, my oldest child talked his ear off while he was here for the consult, but he treated her with kindness and interacted with her in a positive manner. I am so thankful I hired Lou. What a great find! Thanks for everything Lou!
