Called up made a same day appointment. Very nice professional staff. I was told at the time that there was a $60 minimum charge for coming out. Norm came out, looked up the code the TV was giving and gave me a couple of possible scenarios. A price for if they could fix it and a price if a part needed to be entirely replaced. I was able to quickly make an educated decision not to fix based on this information. I was disappointed when he gave me the bill though because although he did nothing more than an extremely routine visit, he charged me $94. He gave me a breakdown and said that "$59.99 only pays for ringing the doorbell". There was $8 that was not accounted for at all and another $20 for diagnostic + Tax. In my mind, this was nickle and diming and should have been made more clear on the phone. He did the minimum amount of work possible. If it is not possible to get him out of your house for less than $94 than they should say so up front.

SYSTEM BEGAN JAMMING A COUPLE OF WEEKS (5/12/03) AGO; I'M MONITORING FREQUENCY (ABLE TO UNJAM IT MYSELF SO FAR) AND DECIDING WHETHER TO PUT MORE $ IN THE UNIT. I'M UNFAMILIAR WITH THE GOING RATES - DID NOT GET ESTIMATES FROM OTHER SHOPS. TOOK ABOUT 10-14 DAYS FROM WHEN I BROUGHT THE UNIT TO THEM UNTIL IT WAS REPAIRED. APPEARS TO BE A LONGTIME SHOP. LARGE ROOM WAS FILLED WITH ALL KINDS OF MAKES AND MODELS OF TV'S. I ALSO HAVE A SMALL RADIO WHOSE RECEPTION FADES IN AND OUT (QUITE ABRUPTLY AND LOUDLY). I'M DEBATING WHETHER OR NOT THEY HAVE MUCH RADIO REPAIR KNOWLEDGE.
