Overall, our experience was very positive. Our windows were not standard size and some were missing frames (house is over 100 years old) so after the initial visit, the sales person brought one of his engineers out to make recommendations and put a plan in place to get the windows done in a sound and safe way. The work was done and the windows themselvels looked great but the window wells weren't "finished" to our standard so the company sent out the salesperson to check it out. They returned and "finished" the window wells and surrounding walls immediately.

They put them in and out quickly and did a clean job. One guy came out and did it in 4 hours. Everything looked very nice. I recommend them HIGHLY!

There was a slight miscommunication between my husband and mother in law as to who would be at the house for the installation. Thank goodness the person installing the windows (Stas) stayed. Otherwise we would've had to reschedule. I would definitely use this company again and highly recommend them!

I called Cleveland Glass Block/Cleveland Window Company for an estimate to replace three original basement casement windows.John Murphy contacted me right away and set up an appointment to come to my home on 03/07/12 to see the windows I wanted to replace and to give me an estimate.John Murphy was very professional and gave me three options of windows I could choose from which were full glass block windows @ a total price of $465.00, removable sash windows @ a total price of $795.00, or the double hung low E glass windows @ a total price of $1,044.00.There was absolutely no pressure from John Murphy to sell me anything during this appoinment.John had samples of the windows to show me and I was very comfortable with John from the start with his approach to help me choose what I wanted in my home.I choose the double hung low E glass window and John wrote up the order during this appointment and informed me that it would be approx. four (4) weeks for these windows to be made.John told me that his office would call me when they received these windows from the factory to set-up an installation date.The windows came in right on schedule and I choose 04/12/12 for the installation date.Mike came to my home to install these three windows and was very prompt, courteous, and very neat.Mike was just as excellent as John.You could see that Mike was a veteran in this window installation trade and was totally prepared to correctly handle the installation in any older home he may encounter.

The four original windows were in bad condition and the guy from Cleveland Glass Block had some extra work to remove the old wood frame windows and build up the sills before installing the new ones.I had to delay and re-schedule the installation. I gave enough notice that they could accommodate my new schedule.The new windows are beautiful and I now feel I have better security than with the old broken ones.Unfortunately, I couldn't do the work myself to save money and the cost seemed pricey to me.

Based on my experience with this company, before you contract with them, I strongly recommend that you a.) ask to see a completed tub-to-shower conversion so you can see firsthand what you get for the price they quote, b.) ask for the contact information of their last 10 conversion customers, select 3 of those at random and contact them (with their permission, of course) and ask those contacts if they feel they received fair value for what they paid, and c.) investigate fully the cost of ceramic provided by a different company as an alternative to the faux tile acrylic panels this company installs for about the same price. I fully regret that I did none of those things, and now I am sadly disappointed that I paid them a "Ferrari" price and received a "Chevy" product in return. And, once you sign their contract there is nothing you can do about it. After feeling that I had been taken, I did contact the owner about my disappointment and he gave me the usual mumbo-jumbo about profit margins, the high cost of doing business, that he has studied economics, etc., but failed to make a convincing argument that the price he charges for his conversion work is fair at all. And if you do contact one of their competitors, you will find what they provide is over-priced by about $2,000 for the same "Chevy" product as well. That is why I recommend that you stay completely away from any business like this that does faux tile conversions with acrylic panels; they are all over-priced for what you receive. For the same price, or less, you can get a conversion using real ceramic tiles instead. Do your due diligence on what this company provides for what they charge, or you will regret it afterward.

In mid-May I called about getting an estimate. May 22 John came out and, after some discussion of the various options, estimated the job. I accepted the estimate and gave a down payment. The quoted price included window construction, permitting, installation and debris removal. Installation was scheduled for 2012-06-22 8:30-9 am. Jun 20 I called to verify that we were still on schedule. I mentioned that I was still somewhat on the fence about the number of air vented windows. John offered to make a set with the extra vents, and only charge more for the added vents. I said that was OK, but I would take what I had signed off on. John said "We want you to be satisfied, I'll check to see if I have the (nonstandard) glass block in stock and will call you tomorrow to see if you would like us to make vented windows". Jun 21 I was pretty busy at work (long pre-planned cool things being installed!) and did not get back to my phone until well after 5. I had missed several calls during the day. In the last call John indicated they would make the windows and let me decide which to install. He reminded me that if I wanted the vented ones it would only increase the cost by the price of the vents. What more can I say about that? While the windows would hopefully be useful elsewhere and I really did think we had the right set up originally, the offer was very much appreciated. That's the kind of commitment to the customer that makes me tell my friends! Jun 22 The installer showed up about 8:30, took a look at the job, verified which windows to install and went to work. He did a +++good job. Installation and cleanup were completed by 11. Great job! I managed to see the noon $5.25 showing of Prometheus.

From start to finish it was a very good experience.

Arrived on time ,very nice man, and knew what he was doing and went about business and finishes very quick and cleaned up after he was done. Very nice young man, and KNEW HOW TO DO HIS JOB.

Both my wife and I are extremely pleased with the experience. From setting up the sales call to installation. According to my wife, Jeff (sales) and Todd (installer) were both very professional, prompt and courteous. Received a reminder call about the appointment. Overall you can tell this is a very well run organization with quality workers. I would definitely call them again in the future if any needs arise they could help us with based upon this experience.

Everything went as planned. It took most of the day and I have to say that I am very pleased with the work. Everything was explained to me before, during and after the job. I would definitely recommed to anyone who is thinking about glass block.

The salesman came out and gave me a quote. I felt like he used scare tactics about lead paint and how it would be best to use them because they follow procedure and other companies may not. I am aware of these issues and am concerned about them already and it would have been sufficient to just give me the basic info and let me make an informed decision. I recognize contractors who are actually following the law are competing with those that are not, but I don't like any kind of pressure sale. It was not serious enough to make me not use them. The worker who came out did an excellent job. He had to rebuild/build up the cement block around the window to install because the block in our house is old and crumbly. The windows are perfect. You would have no idea how bad it looked before now that they are done. They were prompt and had good communication. I know I probably could have found a cheaper price but I did like that they took precaution for the lead paint, they gave us a senior discount because my mom is here, and they did what they needed to do to make the windows work in an old house. I would recommend them. The price was worth the product.

On Thursday, 12/23, Cleveland Glass Block installers John and Steve arrived at 9:00AM. From the time they arrived until the job was finished, they were courteous and caring regarding our home and how we wanted them to enter and exit. They were very careful about wearing booties so as not to dirty our floors as it had been raining the day before and the ground was very wet and muddy. They worked together very well and were finished with the job early in the afternoon. The installation was completed with total cleanup inside and out as if no one had even been there that day. A job done very well. We are very satisfied with our new windows and they turned out as good or better than promised. We are very glad we chose Cleveland Glass Block and Cleveland Window Company for this installation and will call on them again in the future for our window needs.

Scheduled the service shortly thereafter and the windows were installed a few weeks later. Employees were friendly and professional. We are very pleased with the work they performed and love our new windows. Would recommend them again to anyone looking for a similar service.
