Description of Work: Our antique grandfather clock had not been serviced in many years and one of the weights broke. Long story short, American Antiques came to my house and spent considerable time with my clock. Taking very good care to make sure everything was in working order before leaving. They followed up the next day with a call to make sure everything was still ok. I cannot recommend these gentlemen enough. I was nervous about finding someone to work on my clock from the late 1700's and I am thrilled to have found them on Angie's list.

The repair went well. We trust Stan. He and his partner get many referrals from Sedlak's and Fish Furniture. He knows his business and can be trusted! Our clock is approximately 40 years old and is the focus of our home as you enter. Thanks to Stan it runs beautifully! It is a cherished piece in our home!
Description of Work: Stan repaired our grandfather clock. We bought the clock years ago at Sedlak and Stan and his partner installed it , and in 1984 moved our clock from Cleveland Hts to Solon. Our clock was long overdue for a lubrication. Stan took our clock totally apart and fixed a bent wire and lubricated all the mechanism.

They ran into a problem with a customer that was schedule previous to me so they realized they were not going to be able to make it for our appointment they called within a reasonable amount of time to let us know in advance and rescheduled at our convenience. They arrived for the second appointment on time and stayed within the estimate that they gave us. They asked us the last time the clock had been maintained so they provided an inspection of the clock. They did find a couple of routine maintenance items which they took care of. They delivered the clock to our new home, explained the workings on the clock and gave me some tips on how to handle the clock/make adjustments to the clock. They also provided a business card for any time I might have questions.
Description of Work: American Antiques prepared our grandfather clock for the move.

Stan Budin and Joe Gerdy are professionally trained master clock repair specilists. The work on my clock required several hours of work; throughout the time they were in my home, they were very meticulous in their work, pleasant communicators and left the work area perfectly clean. Their price was very fair for the time spent on our repair.
Description of Work: Clean and repair of a 25+ year old grandfather clock. Work was performed in my home.

WE HAD SKIPPED OUR YEARLY CLOCK REPAIR SERVICE. THINKING IT ONLY NEEDED OILING, OUR TECHNICIAN DISCOVERED IT WAS IN NEED OF A NEW MOVEMENT. ONCE IT ARRIVED AFTER ABOUT A WEEK, IT WAS INSTALLED. OUR CLOCK MAN FOLLOWED UP SEVERAL TIMES TO MAKE SURE OUR CLOCK WAS IN 'TICK TOCK' SHAPE.
Description of Work: THE TECHNICIAN CAME OUT AND A INSTALLED NEW MOVEMENT IN OUR GRANDFATHER CLOCK.
