I looked up Wildlife Removal Services on Angie's List and called up Jay in the late afternoon.. He was able to come to my place the next morning by 8:00 AM. This was really very convenient for me because I was working from home that day and I really didn't want to schedule another day and time to be able to meet Jay. He set three traps around my deck. I go outside 2 hours later and there was the big fat groundhog trapped in one of the traps. Jay came and picked up the ground hog within the hour. The only downside was that later that afternoon, a possum got trapped in one of the other traps and I had to pay extra to get him carted off across the river. Jay was very professional.... Extremely fast in responding to my voicemail and coming over to my house for setting up the traps and also for picking up the animals. I would definitely recommend Wildlife Removal Services
Description of Work: I had a groundhog that needed to be caught. He was a really big, fat guy and way too big for the trap that I had. I was concerned that he was causing lots of tunnels underneath my house and wanted him out of there.

He did a good job. The initial response was slow after I purchased the Big Deal. Had to call AL and get a phone number, then called the company to get the service started. After that, it went very well. Will use them again.

Set up the trap, and removed two skunks. Each time a skunk was trapped, they came out and removed it, and reset the trap. Very responsive and professional. Would absolutely use again.

Do not call these people if you'd like a response any time this year. They showed up for their initial visit right away but after that forget it. I hired them to get rid of the raccoons that were in my attic and patch up the holes where they were getting in. They set three traps on the ground around the house and caught nothing but squirrels which I had to release. I had a trap of my own and caught 2 which they took away and then one in their trap. After a couple of weeks of no action they finally put a trap on the roof but removed the traps on the ground. They finally caught one but it sat up there for so long (at least 15 hrs) it escaped. It was caught at 900pm and even though I called them first thing in the morning they didn't come until late the next afternoon. A couple of days after that I went in the bathroom during the night and found a raccoon leg coming through the ceiling. I called them immediately the next day and pleaded with their answering machine to help me but again no response. I climbed up on the roof myself and put new bait in their trap several times with no luck. After awhile I noticed their trap was gone from my roof and I got a bill for removing three raccoons. No mention of patching the holes or anything. I had already paid $150.00 for the initial visit and now they wanted another $200.00 for removing three raccoons two of them caught by me. I went on to catch five more raccoons myself and have since then moved. I would also like to add that I'm an old lady with two knee replacements on a fixed income. Climbing a ladder, baiting their stupid trap that didn't work was the last thing I wanted to do. I'm afraid they won't be getting any more money from me.

Response from Wildlife Removal Services
Customer service and satisfaction is our number one goal as our other reports show. This job was opened on 3/26 and closed on 4/23. On the initial visit we informed Mrs [member name removed] that she needed a professional roofer to close the animal entry points found on her roof and soffit areas. We found a lot of rotted wood in the soffit areas. Mrs [member name removed] seemed to understand that she needed a professional roofer to correct the problem and agreed for us to trap raccoons. She has a customer agreement explaining our service, the cost, and how to get in touch with us each day. She agreed to $150.00 service call, and $65.00 per animal. We ask our customers to call us by 9:00 am each day to let us know if there are any caught animals. (Normally, the traps are set where the customer can visually see if an animal is caught.) Mrs. [member name removed] also asked if she could set her traps in addition to the traps we were setting. Our field tech instructed her not to set her traps while we were trapping. (The traps that are available to consumers at big box stores or hardware stores are usually unreliable because they are not baited correctly and they are weakly constructed allowing trapped animals to escape.) We trapped and removed 3 raccoons in less than a week (3/27, 3/30 and 3/31). On 4/1, we came to pick up a 4th animal only to find that it had escaped a trap set by Mrs. [member name removed]. Our traps were still set and undisturbed. Mrs. [member name removed] was asked if she wanted us to continue trapping, of which she agreed. She was asked not to set any of her traps if we were to continue to trap. Our field tech moved our trap sets to the roof of the house. After this, Mrs [member name removed] stopped calling each morning as agreed on the Home Owner Agreement form. Jay called her several times after April 1st, asking her if there were any animals in the traps because she stopped calling in each morning. Unfortunately, Mrs. [member name removed] would not return our calls. So, on 4/23, we removed the traps from the roof and closed the job. No additional animals were caught after 4/1 to our knowledge. We never agree, encourage, or expect our customers to set or reset traps. If we had known this customer was continuing to set traps or rebait our traps or hers, we would have removed our traps immediately and closed the job. There are numerous health and safety issues related to customers touching traps or interacting with trapped wild animals. If she had a problem with the service, she never called the office to complain or discuss the issue. If she had a concern that we were catching too many animals because she is on a fixed income, we would have worked with her. We did not catch or remove any squirrels nor did we bill her for any animals we did not catch. Mrs [member name removed] has been sent at least 3 invoices over the last 5 months in an attempt to collect the $195.00 for unpaid services she agreed to and received. It appears that this report is an attempt to excuse nonpayment and she is refusing to pay these services rendered. We will continue collection efforts. We will continue to provide exceptional and professional wildlife services to our customers. From time to time we will have customers that are not happy with the services they receive. We recognize this and encourage these customers to call us so we have the opportunity to make it right. Unfortunately, some customers take this route and nobody wins. Sincerely, Kimberly Harmeyer, President Suburban Wildlife Control , LLC, dba Wildlife Removal Services.

I bought the coupon offered on Angie's List for the removal of an animal. I catch the chipmunks around my house but was not up for the sneaky little raccoon under my deck. I called to schedule a time to set the traps, and they were there promptly at that time. It took a few days, but we were finally successful. I am very happy with the responsiveness and ease of working with them. I will call them again if I need other critters removed.

After the mole traps were put out, we immediately had some traps that had been tripped. They would come back and check the traps weekly and reset. I wasn't sure if I had an infestation or one very smart mole as we weren't catching anything. After numerous weeks and resets, I finally got a note on my door that we caught and killed one! After that I have had no more mole holes making a mess in my yard. I guess I had one really smart mole who was doing a lot of damage! I appreciate the work that was done and that he left the traps out longer than agreed upon since we had not caught anything. I would definitely hire again, but I hope I don't need to!

He came to the house several times. He installed the cage up by the attic where the squirrels were getting in. We would call when there was a squirrel in the cage and he would come and remove it and put it up another cage. He was very prompt and knowledgeable each time, and we no longer have squirrel problems in our attic. He was polite and helpful, and told us how to repair where the squirrels were getting into the attic to help prevent it from happening again. I would absolutely recommend this company.

If your looking for a quick or timely response or for someone to contact you via the on-line scheduling system then look else where. I am still waiting on a response and its been 4 days. I cannot judge on their services as none were performed but you might want to call them versus using the angle's list scheduling system as that has proved untrustworthy. I am giving them a C because lack of follow-up could have been due to Angie's List scheduling/message system.

This was at my daughter's home and after seeing the rats she was rather alarmed and scared. She has a three year old and they needed to see the rats removed right away. They also have pet dogs and needed the approach to be pet safe. Randy did a great job of rapid follow-up, setting the traps, and the rats were gone within a few days, as he predicted. We've very happy with the service.

Although the provider was successful in removing 2 chipmunks, the traps he set seemed no better than ones we could have purchased and placed ourselves. Also, we still had chipmunks in the area after he "finished" the service. So we are going to have to call another animal remover service this summer, as we cannot repave our driveway until we are sure that there are no chipmunks digging holes beneath it. I had also hoped that the removal of the wildlife would have entailed relocation, but the removal was in fact extermination.

The service went well, the company responded promptly to my request to inspect the attic of my home and quickly determined the animal entry point. A trap was set and a squirrel was caught by the next day. A total of two animals were trapped and taken away. The only minor complaint I have is that I was rarely able to get a hold of a person when I called to have the animals picked up. I left a message and my requests were responded to in a timely fashion.

iInitially called Wildlife Removal on the morning of Saturday April 26th after noticing that an animal had recently dug a burrow under my front steps and asking them to come out. They came out to my house just after lunch and identified that a groundhog had dug the hole and proposed to leave a baited have a heart trap for $120 and a $65 charge for each animal removed. All fees were invoiced after the animals were caught or the traps removed. Left the trap in place for over a week (I re-baited it myself once as the apples were drying out) with no capture. I was getting ready to fill in the hole (assuming Mr. Groundhog had moved on) and placed some debris at the entrance to make sure there was no traffic. To my surprise, the next morning the debris was moved and the day after the bait was gone from the trap. The trap was sitting on gravel fill the groundhog and dug out from under the steps and had interfered with the trip mechanism on the trap. Called Wildlife removal and informed them about the issue, They came out that afternoon and reset and re-baited the trap. This led to a couple of days of the critter eating some of the entry bait (but not getting to the trip plate). About this time on one evening, I ended up with a strong skunk odor permeating the house. Mr Groundhog had been replaced by Mr. Skunk, Called Wlildlife removal and they came out that afternoon to re-bait the trap differently. Again, Mr. skunk was very crafty and only ate the bait up to the trip plate numerous days. Called Wildlife Removal and they came out and reset the trap and tried to disguise the flooring to outsmart the skunk. Mr. skunk was too smart for that and again stripped the entry bait. Called the last time and Wildlife removal came out and basically placed the trap i a way that forced Mr. Skunk to go through the trap to get out of the burrow. That got Mr. Skunk. Called them the next morning and they came and took Mr. Skunk away and did an initial fill in of the hole. They also offered to perform a more complete fix (I assume with mesh, etc.), but I elected to do that myself. In all I really got my money's worth: 5 visits to my house and 1 skunk removed. I was impressed with the responsiveness when I called and that they didn't just give up when the initial trapping attempts failed. I would highly recommend them.

I contacted Jay in April regarding a potential squirrel problem. The squirrels were attempting to gnaw their way into my attic. Jay set several traps and over the next several weeks caught 5 squirrels. He kept the traps up for a couple more weeks to make sure the squirrels were gone. After that he installed wire mesh over the openings in my siding, pending a siding repair I'm having done this summer. In all matters Jay and his people were professional and prompt. Jay was also very patient and answered all my questions in a friendly, helpful manner.

Jay does a very good job. But, be careful what you ask for- we ended up catching 6 raccoons to get rid of the ones under our porch. It was a bit costly. New ones kept getting back under and there was no way to verify that none were underneath, so we could not perminently block the opening. But, at least now my 2 yr old can enjoy the backyard and deck without the risk of encountering a raccoon or the germs and diseases they spread. The cost was worth the peace of mind. We were just unlucky enough to have a huge group of raccoons that frequented our yard! Thank you for a good job Jay! I would definitely use Jay again in the event we had another incident.

His responsiveness was impeccable as was his description on what his plan to do was going to be. He set up several traps along the perimeter of the yard and then came back to check each trap once a week for 30 days. He caught 3 moles, which he initially believed we had, and removed them humanely to be released back into the wild. After the 30 days, he removed the traps and we have been mole free .
