Weickert's

We were delighted with our experience with Weickert's. They were selected from competing proposals, after filtering Angies List ratings and friend's recommendations. Before work began, we discussed concerns about squeaking OSB subfloors, matching stain to existing hardwood, finishing steps, and upgrading heating vents. Their salesperson, John B., cheerfully provided assurances that all work would be completed to high standards; e.g. that extra screws would be used to eliminate squeaks. Since Weickerts also had presented the most competitive price, we accepted these assurances with some trepidation -- relying heavily on others' reviews on this site. One man showed up to take up the carpets -- haven't seen that kind of working efficiency in a while. The tone for the rest of the experience was set the first morning of hardwood installation. Noting that our winter-dry front door was not latching easily, the installation team (Calvin & Brian) proceeded to fix that nuisance just because it "was easy for us to do". Wow. Fast-forward to the completion, because who likes stories about the banging and sanding noise; or the smell of polyurethane? We ended up with a beautifully-matched trio of squeak-free hardwood floors, hardwood steps, shoe moulds, and flush floor vents. In one room our floor is laid "picture-frame" with a walnut trim. All were beautifully finished, expeditiously. Weickert, and John B., are good to their word. Kudos to the entire team.

The floors look amazing. They gave a free estimate last Monday (5/4) and were able to start just one week later this past Monday (5/11). They were 25% cheaper than another bid I received. They said they would be there at 9am and showed up right on time. Even though they sanded the floors, there isn't a trace of dust anywhere in the house. I had deliveries 2 of the 3 days they were there and they brought the packages inside for me. I work with contractors on a daily basis and can't say enough about their operation. We eventually will have more floors to finish and I won't even be wasting my time with other options.

John was able to fit me into the schedule at the last minute. The job went great. The floor looks great.

Weickert's not only does outstanding work at a reasonable price, but they are kind and wonderful to work with. Both my sister and I live out of town and we needed someone trustworthy, reliable and honest to work on our 85-year old mother's home. Eric, Bill and everyone who worked on my mom's kitchen and bathrooms for about 3 weeks were very respectful and kind to our mom and Eric even took our mom shopping for appliances and countertops! I cannot say enough about their willingness to work together and they provided the ultimate customer service! The workmanship and final product are outstanding! My mom's kitchen looks beautiful and bathrooms are updated. A year later, we hired Weickert's again to re-carpet my mom's basement and perform some work to sell the house. We trusted Eric to choose the carpet and work in the house unsupervised. Again, the quality of the workmanship was outstanding, and the price reasonable. We highly recommend Weickerts for their quality, price, flexibility and honesty. They are simply outstanding in all aspects!

From the initial quotation to the scheduling for all subsequent activities, it went pretty much as they scheduled it. Most of the communication and scheduling was done via email (which I find more convenient than phone). One person came to pull up carpeting, and then the same one or two persons did the remaining work. They were all considerate, no fuss, no surprises, and a lovely floor at the end. All materials they removed were taken away and the room and areas they used were all cleaned afterward. I'm delighted with the results and would definitely recommend them.

We have used then a number of times (4-6) and have always been happy with the job.

We clean our carpets regularly. We have a small dog and pet stains and odor are an issue. A team of two did the cleaning. They were professional and friendly. They worked quickly and we wondered if the job could have been more thorough. They used something for pet problems. The area smelled fresher for a day or two and then went back to a slight pet smell. This comes from one of the most sensitive noses in the Western world.

They just made the floors look beautiful. They were reasonable at time and really did a good job.

The work was done on time and on budget. The installers did a great job, In the loft, there is a raised hardware edge that the railings attach to. The installation team beveled the edges of the new flooring so that all the edges were tight against the raised railing base. It is beautiful - we could not be happier and we plan to have hardware floors installed in the remaining three bedrooms as soon as we can.

I really enjoyed working with this company. Terrific sales person came promptly to give a very competitive bid, worked the rest by email with him; he responded to messages within an hour or so every time, even if just to tell me that he was out of office and would be in touch the next day. Flexible with the timing to meet my needs. He had the hardwood delivery person come the previous week so the materials could be staged inside; even that guy called ahead to schedule delivery, was right on time, neat ,polite, order complete, a pleasure. The job itself had a few hiccups as I think every one does, but the installer worked through everything just fine, didn't make it my problem, got help from the home office when he needed it. He listened carefully, kept me informed, did a skillful and professional job, cleaned up after himself each day. The floor looks beautiful, matches the rest of the house and looks like it's been there all along. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these folks or to use them again for hardwood services. I did learn that I need to ask a few more questions up front, such as will you need room outside of the job area for setting up a saw, vacuum hose access through a window to equipment that stays outside, 220 volt power source for sander. We handled these things on the fly, but I would have done a few things differently in preparation if I'd realized what would be needed.

We've used Weickert's twice now, once at our old house and once at our new house, for hardwood floor refinishing. The first time they came out and set up a few finishes for us to choose from (we went with natural / non-tinted since we liked that look and they include an extra coat of finish). The second time we had them match the color to the hall as it was different finishes (from when the previous owner had removed carpet). Their prices seemed competitive and we would use them again if we needed floor work.

Not as well as we had hoped. We dropped the carpet off in early December I believe. They did call to tell us it was ready - left a message on our machine. We tried on 3 occasions to pick it up and on all 3 occasions they were closed during "normal" business hours, so we did not have our carpet for the Christmas holiday which left a long bare looking floor. That was disappointing. They did NOT have a message on their website or phone regarding their holiday hours but apparently took quite a few days off. I doubt they were only closed on the 3 days we happened to go there. After the second attempt I called and left a message, and a woman called me back and said, we are open now. A couple days later my husband went to get the rug and they were closed! I guess when she said we are open she meant that day. Finally on the 4th visit we got our rug back. The rug is reasonably clean but the fringe is not and the one end of the rug came back with considerably less fringe than it was given to them with. On one edge the fringe is gone all together making it look pretty shoddy. I don't know if that was a machine, rough handling or what. It was not perfect to start with but worse when we got it back. I noted that the price was good - at $40+ but that's being generous considering I will have to find someone to fix the fringe. Also I think they were reasonably punctual in cleaning the rug but the fact that we kept running into trouble getting it is why we rated that as we did. We were hoping to be happy with the results from a local and I think family owned company, especially considering we have a number of orientals, but we are not. The search continues.

My husband has went there 3 times to pick up our oriental rug that we've been trying to get back from them for more than 2 weeks. They have a recording that states they are closed for the holidays but do not specify exact dates. I did get a call from a woman who stated that we could come pick up our rug, however, I was unable to leave right away and when we did arrive they were closed and have been off and on since before Christmas. We are hoping to get our rug back by 01/05/2015.

Fantastic. The floors and rugs look great. Very professional, courteous and prompt. No complaints and would recommend them without hesitation.

They did a good job, but they seemed to be in a hurry. They measure the carpets and charge by the square footage. One man was in charge and one man did the work after they quote the price.

Excellent job Always on time Polite Just overall and excellent experience and we love our floors. We actually stayed in the house and lived upstairs which is not what normally happens I am told but since my husband works out of the house we needed to do this.

During our recent kitchen renovation, we needed to fill in a small portion of hardwood floor which was once covered by a half-wall. Weickert's was very quick to come out and provide a fair and reasonable estimate. The work was scheduled promptly. The installers that came to our home did a fantastic job! We can hardly see a difference between the new boards and the originals which are over 15 years old. Not only did they do top-notch work, but they were very courteous and professional. Prior to leaving, they vacuumed my kitchen, front hallway and a portion of the living room - basically anywhere that they stepped. We could not have asked for more. We would not hesitate to contact Weickert's again for any future flooring needs.

Everything went very well. Weickert's had the lowest price of the companies that I contacted, its installers did a good job, and they cleaned up after themselves.

Installed hardwood is beautiful. Had a difficult time matching stain to previous hardwood floor due to color changing over time as well as with sun exposure. Although when initially given a price estimate was told it should not be a problem to match new wood flooring with floor already installed. Company came back out to house and tinted the wood floor in kitchen and entry way to obtain a closer match in the stain color. However, there is still a noticeable difference. In order to obtain a closer match the old wood floors would have to be sanded down and re-stained which was not in our budget at this time.

Scheduling of appt was quick and John arrived on-time for the estimate. He was professional, polite and thoroughly explained the process, as well as, what was included in the price. The price was competitive and though I had no concerns with using them for the job I selected another company to do the work.

It's good service. They didn't oversell anything. They let us take the carpet samples home to put it against the painted wall. They cleaned up very nice. They gave us small remnants to keep. They explained how to care for the carpet. We are using them again next week.

We have been a customer of Weickert's for many years and their services just keep getting better and better! The process for refinishing our floors went smoothly. John came to our home and we discussed our needs. He measured the floors and provided us with an estimate in a timely manner. The next step was to choose the stain color, so the crew came to our home. They sanded a small portion of our floor and applied several different colors of stain so that we could choose the one that looked best on our floor. The work was completed as promised and the floors look brand new. There was minimal dust, so that was an added plus. Weickert's employees are always courteous and professional. We have used this company to clean our carpets, our upholstery and now to refinish our floors. Every single experience we have had with Weickert's has been positive and we highly recommend them. They provide excellent value and service!
