Weed Man - Cincinnati

DIdn't seem very professional, didn't call when said he would. A couple of days we could understand, but not weeks. We wanted to get started on the lawn care, so went with another company.

This is our second year using them, and our lawn is looking much better! It is much thicker and greener, which is good and bad because I now have to get my lazy self out to get the thick green grass cut before I lose my pugs in it! I could not be happier with how nice my lawn looks, and the price is fair compared to other companies. They always call the day before they come as I requested, and when I talk to them on the phone or in person they are always friendly and professional.

They do not cut the grass or anything like that. We have continued to use them because they just seem to stand at the top of it and our lawn looks great.

After having good result from Weedman treating the yard with fertilizer and weed control for 2012, I asked for an estimate to aerate my yard since the soil is clay and gets hard as a rock in the summer. It makes a bumpy ride for the lawnmower. I accepted the estimate in October and they said someone would come to do the work sometime in November. The technician called Tuesday, November 13 and said he would come Wednesday or Thursday to aerate the yard. He came Wednesday morning and finished the job. After he left I walked around the yard and saw that there were many holes and round plugs of soil about 2 or 3 inches long. I have seen it done on golf courses and know that is what it is supposed to look like (it sure stops golf balls from rolling very far). It also made it much easier to break up soil and plant grass seed in bare spots where grass had died. The yard is really shaping up. I also accepted and paid for an estimate to treat my yard next year. I'm very happy with the work done.

After seeing good reviews on Angie's List last year, I got an estimate for treating my yard for 2012. The estimate sounded good enough so I prepaid for small discount and Weedman treated the yard for the season. The technician came each time to treat the yard with appropriate fertilizer and weed control and left a receipt showing what was done with a handwritten note of what was done and recommendations to care for the yard. I did not experience problems in more recent reviews. The yard is much improved except for difficult to control weeds and grasses. It seemed like many of the bad reviews were people expecting miracles from one treatment and not understanding that it takes a while to get a yard in shape.

I thought they over-promised and over-priced. I have one section of my yard that has ground-ivy and they said they would come out and take care of it, they never did. Their prices for grub control was excessive.

I contacted Weedman for a quote, and received a prompt reply. I did not commit to their service as I was in the process of receiving other quotes. Then a week later I received a bill in the mail. I called and told them I was not interested in their service at this time. The following week I received a call from Kevin letting me know that they would be out the next day to start my treatment. I told him that I had cancelled, and jumped into a sales pitch, which I politely declined. He called again 2 weeks later asking to start my lawn treatment, and again I told him no thank you. Then, 2 hours later, someone else from Weedman called with a high pressure sales pitch telling me they could customize the treatment to fit my budget, and offered me a "deal" of only 4 treatments for the same price that they were going to charge me for 6 treatments. Then expected me just to give him a credit card on the spot, and he would take $9 off the bill. Again, I declined and will be choosing another company for future lawn care.

I have only utilized Weedman for 2 - 3 yard fertilizing treatments. After the first treatment, I began to receive numerous telemarketing calls from Weedman attempting to sell additional services. At first, I thought the frequent follow-up was a sign of good customer service, but after the calls continued after I explained to the company that I no longer needed their services because my yard (new construction) need a total reseeding, I realized that they were totally ignoring what I was communicating to them. I was receiving telemarketing calls twice a month even after I supposedly spoke with the owner, Ben, at least twice and asked that he place my account on hold until I had a chance to get my yard reseeded. He and others, promised that they would not contact me anymore, but during the last two months, I've been contacted at least 3 more times. I even hung up on Ben while at a restaurant at 7:30 pm at night. Then, today, I received another call at 6:30 pm from a person named Kevin promoting lawn treatments. He claims he did not have any record of my numerous previous conversations with the Company about my account. OMG!!@@@ I can't believe I had to explain for the 20th time that I no longer needed fertilizing services.So, obviously, this Company has no clue how to manage their customer accounts and have NO RESPECT for their customer's wishes.

Aeration and Seeding was performed late in Fall season, but I was guaranteed that if I watered the seed and it didn't germinate they would come back out in the spring and reseed for free. I called in early March and told them that the seed had not grown in and I needed them to come out and reseed. They said they would send someone out and look at the job and get back with me. Nothing happened until I received a call 2.5 weeks later from the person that was getting ready to apply my first application of fertilizer and preventer. I told that individual that I was waiting to hear back from Weedman about reapplying the seed and they probably shouldn't be putting down any preventer at this time. He checked with Robin and he said they only put seed down in the Fall and refused to live up to their promise of Spring Application. I told them that I had been a customer for 6 years and they said it didn't matter. I terminated my contract with Weedman on the spot.

Requested a quote for spring service to fertilize the lawn. Even though I made it clear to the representative I was not interested in the six treatment plan, the rep tried to hard sell me by mentioning it nine times and that if I didn't do it, my lawn would not look very good. He pushed to put me on the schedule even though I wanted him to send over the quote and information in writing prior to a commitment. It appeared that he had to stay "on script", regardless of my response. I thanked him for the time and will go elsewhere.

I pay them $59 for each treatment which includes fertilizers and weed control. They were wonderful. Overall the job they did last time was pretty good. Everybody has different issues. I called them and they had an open conversation with me. They discussed the issues and proposed a solution, and went with it. This is what I liked. I will use their services again in the future.

It is always the same person who comes. They made a mistake once and they came right back and corrected it. They don’t cut the lawn. They do our whole neighborhood. We had another service and when we looked around, the other lawns were nicer than ours. So we switched over. My husband was very happy with the price.

They give me a call and they let me know when they are coming. They charged me exactly what they had quoted me. It has been a great experience working with them. Their price is pretty competitive. They explain everything and I can choose to do it or not.

All my neighbors have weeds for yards, I do not have any. They have lived up above and beyond exceptions. I highly recommend them. Their pricing is very competitive. They call and let you know they will be in area, so you are notified ahead of time. They also always put a flag up to let you know they were. They owner will also come around to make sure the work is completed by his company and up to standards and see how progress is going.

I spent $58 on their last visit. Their people are all really friendly and helpful. They do a good job and offer services that I am not signed up for. They do not push me, answer my questions and are very responsive.

Overall, I am well satisfied with their service. I would recommend them to other members also as they are very good and very honest. I would use their service in the future too.

They are good. They do try to work with me on certain weed problems. I pay them $37 everytime they come out. I will use them again in the future.

After one error on applying weed prevention just after we had the lawn reseeded, which they rectified satisfactorily, the service has been quite good and the response to our problem lawn was solved. Today the lawn looks great after working on reseeding and aeration.

I'm very happy with the results! The workers are wonderful to work with. Our lawn looks just outstanding! I switched from a bigger company who was using liquid treatments, but Weed Man uses granular which ended in great results! We have noticed the rodents and insects we had in our home in the past are no longer present. We credit this solely to Weed Man and their successful treatments. The price is approximate and reflects a years worth of treatments (6 applications).

I have been with this company for 6 years. I only have him treat my front yard because I have 4 dogs and I do not want any chemicals in the back where they go. I have had come treat my lawn about 6 times. He leaves a flag in the yard and a door hanger on the door so that I know he has came. He leaves the bill in the mailbox for me after he completes the job.

Our lawn went from average to below average even though we have a sprinkler system. Our lawn looks worse than our neighbors even though they so not have a sprinkler system and spread the fertilizer/weed preventer themselves. Weed Man told us that we had not gotten the grub treatment and that was the reason. We got the grub treatment and....nothing. The manager did call me back and FINALLY came over to look at our lawn. Said we needed over seeding and additional treatments (thought that was what we are paying for??) He also said there was no sign of grub damage....I will let you figure out the rest.

Great. My husband says that our yard is thick. After a hot summer with not enough watering by us, the lawn came back thick and healthy after aeration. Monthly fertilizer services vary based on time of year and type of weeds in our lawn. We love them.
