landline phone service
+ -1 moreThe experience has been good. Our phone bill went down when we started using them. They mailed us the hardware. We had some problems installing it, but we got them on the phone and they helped us through it. We haven't had any problems since we started.
Description of Work: We use them for home phone service. We've got a plan because we dial international a lot. We can call other Vonage people for free.

+ -1 moreAfter speaking with them & even their tech, I was told that it should work with my security system which I later found out, after speaking with my security system provider that it doesn't. The second thing was that I found later that they had charged to my credit card a $42.95 disconnection fee even though, I was still within my 60 day trial period which they advised me I would receive back once I returned their equipment. They really have turned me off to their company & I have no intention of going with them again based on my experience with them. The individuals I spoke with over the phone (themselves) were polite & professional but the company itself & its practices are very inflexible & I didn't like their inability to work with me.
Description of Work: They provide phone service for me through the Internet. I was initially interested in going with Vonage because of their 60 day free trail period offer & they offered a per month rate of $24.99 for phone service with unlimited long distance calling. I later found out there was a hidden fee to disconnect my service which came with along with their "free" 60 day trial offer. When I called them to sign up I was told I would have to pay a $46.95 equipment deposit charge (which I was already aware of) which would be refundable after I returned the equipment to them. There were two things I was very clear about at time I joined; one was whether or not my security system would work with their service.
