Description of Work: Tensing Contractors walled up our basement level garage and filled in the driveway so that we would have a larger, flat yard. They also repaired our back steps and added a new patio. They were very responsive from the first quote to starting work. They explained everything they did and even showed us what they were doing. They also helped us figure out why some of our concrete issues were occurring and offered solutions and recommendations for other businesses that could help us. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Description of Work: The project had to do with the shoring up of a hillside where my deck was sliding downhill away from my house. I had contacted a number of landscape/hardscape contractors over the course of a year. Many would simply not return calls. Some, even after giving estimates would not commit to doing the job. None inspired confidence. Paul Tensing is a man who knows his business. He showed up when he said he would show up. Answered questions. Was honest enough to suggest that he did not have all the answers and suggested talking to an engineer before writing up an estimate. He gave me an estimate that I could live with (less than several others). There was a fairly long wait before he was able to start, a fact that he warned me about, but when he and his crew started they worked quickly and efficiently. They did everything stipulated in their proposal within estimate. They were careful of existing trees and shrubbery in a difficult work area. They were courteous while working and left the area clean and nice. I feel confident in the results and would recommend Tensing Contractors to anyone interested in this sort of work.

Description of Work: The contractor is excellent . Very reliable . The work involved repairing two spots on the front porch that were in need of repair. To prevent any further deterioration of the porch , the contractor overlaid the entire porch with pavers , creating a brand new look . The color of the pavers tied in beautifully with the red brick of our home . Additionally , the contractor laid a whole new sidewalk ( 30' or so ) leading up to the porch . The entire job was the idea of the contractor to save us the cost ( another $7,000 ) of having to raise 6 pillars in order to put in an entire porch . This man did a great job .

 + -1 moreIT TOOK A LOT OF PHONE TAG TO GET A TIME FOR THE ESTIMATE TO BE COMPLETED. I GOT A VOICE MAIL SAYING THE ESTIMATE WAS COMPLETE BUT THEY HAD QUESTIONS. WHEN I RETURNED THE CALL THEY TOLD ME THE ESTIMATE WASN'T COMPLETED YET. FIRST CONVERSATION I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE SEVERAL MONTHS BEFORE I COULD BE PUT ON THE SCHEDULE. I CHOOSE NOT TO USE THEM BECAUSE I WANTED THE WORK DONE BEFORE THE WINTER.

WHEN TENSING CONTRACTORS WAS READY TO PERFORM THE JOB, A CREW OF 4 DELIGHTFUL YOUNG MEN SHOWED UP RIGHT ON TIME. THEY WERE ALL EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS, AND TOTALLY TRUSTWORTHY. WE LEFT OUR HOUSE OPEN FOR THEM AND WENT TO WORK. THEY CALLED ME AT WORK IF THEY HAD A QUESTION, AND THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED WITHIN 4 DAYS; INCLUDING THE BRICK WORK. WE ARE DELIGHTED ABOUT THE OUTCOME AND ALL OF OUR NEIGHBORS HAVE COMMENTED ON THE EXCELLENT WORKMANSHIP AND PROFESSIONALISM OF THE COMPANY.

 + -1 moreWE CALLED TENSING FOR A THIRD TIME, TO INSTALL A 12' BRICK PATIO. I WAS ABLE TO PURCHASE THE BRICK PAVERS ON SALE AND TENSING PICKED THEM UP AND STORED THEM FOR US OVER THE SUMMER. THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB, AS THEY HAD DONE FOR US TWICE BEFORE, AND EVEN PERFORMED A SMALL REPAIR ON A RETAINING WALL THAT WASN'T SUSTAINING UP TO THEIR STANDARD. THESE ARE THE NICEST PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH, WE RECOMMEND THEM QUITE STRONGLY FOR VERY GOOD WORK AT A FAIR PRICE.

PAUL IS THE CONTACT PERSON. HE RETURNED PHONE CALLS PROMPTLY, EXPLAINED EVERYTHING STEP BY STEP AND IS VERY NICE. THE CREW THAT WORKED ON MY DRIVEWAY WERE ALSO VERY NICE, TIDY AND PROFESSIONAL. I FELT VERY CONFIDENT THAT THE WORK WOULD BE DONE CORRECTLY. ALSO, THEY PERFORMED THIS WORK AHEAD OF THEIR PROJECTED SCHEDULE, WOW!!
