Have used them several x's over the years due to their professionalism, reliability, and always a top notch job. Called about 1 or 2 weeks prior to installation, after reviewing what they had available on their website. Faucet in stock so scheduling not a problem. Came promptly at scheduled time after calling 1st. Not crazy abt prices, but willing to pay more for jobs done right the 1st time, & never any problems.

It was a costly job, but we are very pleased. My husband needed to be able to put his wheelchair under the sink and now he can. Also all old water backup problems are gone. It was worth the money

I needed a plumber that I could trust to come to my rental unit as soon as possible to help me fix my shower. I called around to a great deal of plumbers in the Cincinnati area, and understandably, most had no availability given my short notice. Tarvin, however, took the time to at least put me on their schedule should a spot open up...and one did! Ellis came out to my unit same day and fixed my original reason for the call (the shower) in about 10 minutes which was awesome, but since I was charged for the first hour anyway, instead of just leaving to get ahead of schedule, Ellis offered to check out the plumbing throughout both of my units since I had paid for a full hour. That sort of integrity is something that I hold very important, and Ellis exhibited the highest form. I would've completely missed the water issue in my kitchen sink until a later date (which would've resulted in another separate visit I am sure), but because of Ellis's sincerity, the plumbing throughout both of my units and the water pressure to the property is all good. I have found my trusted and reliable plumbing company.

SCHEDULING: We called 3 plumbers, all of whom were responsive and polite. The first one (Holtmeier) couldn't fit us in until the next day, and the other two (Halpin and Tarvin) weren't sure, but put us "on call" in case a slot opened up the same day. Not long after the initial call, we got a call from the dispatcher/secretary at Tarvin stating that a team could come out in 45 minutes, and we gladly agreed. (Halpin also called back, but at that point, the Tarvin crew was on their way.) ARRIVAL: Jim arrived right on schedule, took a look at the basement. He put down drop cloths from the door, across the floor, and down the basement stairs. He then proceeded to chip/hammer/saw out the old, corroded clean-out plug. As he was finishing that, his partner arrived. MAIN WORK: They brought down a large motorized auger and proceeded to fish it down the main stack and out through the sewer line, clearing the clog. ADVICE GIVEN: The culprit (in addition to copious amounts of kitchen grease that may predate our moving in) appeared to be some tree roots 50+ feet from the house. Jim advised that preventive clean-outs every couple of years might help prevent backups, but if backups became more frequent, we might want to consider pipe replacement. PROFESSIONALISM: They worked efficiently and professionally, answering all of our questions along the way. They cleaned up their tools and rags and didn't leave a mess behind (besides the original crud that had backed up -- not their mess -- which they would have cleaned if we'd wanted to pay for it). They installed a new clean-out plug in the main stack (since the old one had to be chipped out), and ensured that it didn't leak before they left. COST: We had been quoted rates for labor, equipment, and parts over the phone, and they charged us what they said they would. (Alas, we forgot to use the $25 off coupon...oops!) END RESULT: We were pleased with the responsive service, the professionalism, the reasonable price, and the fact that we can flush our toilets again. We would definitely call them again for plumbing service.

To be fair, the company was prompt to schedule an appointment, and the technician showed up on time. Thereafter, things went downhill. The technician turned off the water, promptly took apart the shower assembly, and attempted to put a rebuild cartridge in the shower. It didn't work. Fine, not his fault--perhaps there is something else wrong with the shower. Since we didn't have the ~$900 around necessary to do a full replacement, we decided we'd live with the slow drip for now, and just asked him to put it back the way it was. However, he then was unable to properly reassemble the shower. The drip--previously a drip every 6 to 7 seconds--is now considerably worse, and is a steady stream of water emanating from the shower head. Furthermore, when he attempted to reinstall the faceplate around the shower assembly, he couldn't get the screws back in, and instead haphazardly threw a blob of caulk around the screw hole. Most importantly--and here's the real zinger--this morning we find that his reinstallation was done in such a manner that you now cannot rotate the temperature control into the hot water position. Lukewarm now is as far as you can go with this. So basically the issue we initially called about is now considerably worse, and we also now have no functional master bathroom shower. For this, we had the pleasure of parting with $150. Extremely disappointed.

Dave was prompt, expert + thorough. Color me old-school? But the price paid (IMO) was wildly disproportionate from what I'd have expected for a straight-forward, uncomplicated 'plumbing' job.

Second time that I've used Tarvin - and would highly recommend again. Simply outstanding professionalism and quality of work. Ellis and his helper Alex arrived on time, and very quickly undertook the installation of 5 faucets, one garbage disposal and one in line water filter. They worked very efficiently together and utilized every minute of their time. They thoroughly tested everything installed until each was perfect. Highly recommend Tarvin - thanks Ellis and Alex.

The technician admitted he didn't know much about water softeners, so he gave me a handout about the softener they sell. I later called the owner to clarify what they had to offer. The owner was polite and had information about the one softener they sold and couldn't give a clear estimate if we bought a different one and had them install it. I should have been told up when I first called that they only sold one type of unit. They should have sent a technician who knew something. I regret spending money on the service call to find out they knew little about my needs. It left me with a bad taste for the company's initial communication and scheduling practices. I wish the owner had offered a refund when he realized we got bad advice and couldn't buy his unit.

Good. They're really good. It was probably fairly soon after we contacted them that they did the work for us. I thought he was nice. He did the works just fine. I was happy with it. Apparently, I forgot most about it but I must be quite happy about it because I remember that. Whatever they did, it's working just fine ever since. Sure I remember they got back to us quickly. Sure, I'll use them again.
