Everyone from the people working on site to the people in the office were great. We had a new furnace and AC unit installed. They removed the old units and had the new ones installed, plus had everything cleaned up in a little over 6 hours.

I had a tub drain pipe with a hole in the bottom of it, and they quoted me $9000 to fix it, which is a freakin joke. Clearly they just didn't want the job and couldn't be honest about it with me. Never will hire anyone if they cannot be honest. P.S. another Angieslist contractor had it fixed the same day for $200 because they were experienced enough to look at the other side of the wall and see there was an access hatch there that took 4 minutes to remove the broken drain pipe segment. This is probably the worst customer experience I've had this year, and plays right into the stereotype of plumbers screwing homeowners for everything they can. Unbelievable.

This company is very professional but priced on the high side. I like that they send you a text with a picture of your serviceman before he arrives. I feel like not only are they expensive but are also always trying to sell you something. I let them replace the battery on my sump pump and the cost of the battery was $600. They said the battery I had was like new but it wasn't as safe as the one they sold and that I needed their $600 battery instead. When talking to others I was told that price was highway robbery. I don't really know, but they have always been respectful and done a good job.

I love this company! They are respectful, professional and their prices are competitive. It's hard to find good contractors these days but I feel comfortable and secure since I started letting this company take care of my HVAC/plumbing needs. Thanks to Steven Woodward for the great service today.

We had smelled natural gas previously and thought it was from the furnace. Tony came and checked everything very thoroughly. Smells we're not from the furnace and he explained why. He did thorough diagnostics to ensure no leaks and only charged us for a service call. Extremely professional and wonderful to work with. Highly recommend

Chad methodically reviewed the drain system. There had been a significant backup (2nd instance in a week), but by the time he arrived it had drained on its own. Since this is a finished basement level drain (drain pipes under concrete), there was nothing he could do and we were not charged.

(This may be disconcerting for some readers) I was in the basement on a Saturday and when the furnace came on to increase the heat, I heard a high pitched sound and what smelled like gas to me. I immediately shut off the furnace and called Schneller & Knochelmann, with whom I have a service contract for cleaning the furnace and A.C. A tech arrived within a few hours and tested everything but couldn’t find anything wrong with any of the functions of the furnace. However, he did discover that on the burner of the furnace was a dead mouse, who was fused to the burner. The most logical explanation is that the smell came from burning the mouse and the high pitch noise from the furnace was the mouse’s scream while it was being fried. Since the mouse was removed everything has been working fine. I was only charged a standard service call, even though it was a Saturday.

Technician Steven Woodward said my air conditioning refrigerant was one pound low. I declined having it added since it was only one pound low and the system was running excellently, and the R22 refrigerant is very expensive since it is being phased out in 2020. Five days later the air conditioning was not cool enough and the air flow was weak. The outside condenser piping was frozen over with ice. It was strange that my ac went from excellent to inadequate 5 days after service. Rather than call Schneller again, I decided on another HVAC company to research the problem. The new technician, with over 30 years experience, immediately discovered two valve caps that were only hand tightened. He also discovered that one of the loose valve caps was for the Schrader Valve that holds in the ac refrigerant. Upon further inspection he also discovered the Schrader Valve Core was not sufficiently tightened and refrigerant was leaking. The valve core is similar to the valve core in a car tire that holds the air in the tire from escaping. The valve still would have leaked refrigerant with a tightened cap, but the loose cap accelerated the leak. My refrigerant was now 3 pounds low. In 5 days it had gone down another 2 pounds! The last time my air conditioning was serviced was in 2014. It has been running excellently ever since, until 5 days after Steve Woodward was servicing it! The new technician added the required R22 refrigerant at a considerable cost due to the excelled price of the dwindling supply of R22. Conclusion: Steve Woodward may have intentionally caused the leak, hoping I would call Schneller back, having to purchase some very expensive R22 from them, but I can not prove that. If he did not do it intentionally, then he was negligent in his job performance. His actions created a huge loss of refrigerant, resulting in an expensive replacement cost. Also, we had considered taking a one week trip 3 days after Steven’s service, but cancelled. If we did, the entire air conditioning unit may have experienced severe damage if not attended to when the problem was discovered. Technicians who create serious problems with an air conditioning unit either on purpose or out of neglect should not be working on theses units. It is odd that 2 valve caps were only hand tightened when it is required to tighten them with a wrench, and the Schrader Valve Core was not tightened, when these are tasks an air conditioning technician repeatedly does so often!
