Description of Work: Welded the spring perches to the rear axle of a car we're building. Probably wouldn't use him again since cost was a little high and he's not close to home. Also, work required was a one-time need. Not sure of date of service since it's been awhile. |

I purchase a reproduction Herman Miller mid century modern lounge chair and both aluminum head brackets were broken in half. One was broken at the screw hole. Also, a leg on the chair base was broken off. He repaired all the parts. Even the head rest bracket broken at the screw hole was re-threaded. He made sure all welds were ground smooth. I was super happy. Chair looks great.

The front left weld holding my driver side seat to my van had come up. It resulted in the seat rocking backwards when you got in the car and when you stopped. We decided it was not safe as we were afraid the whole seat would fly through the window if there was an accident. Honda said they could replace the whole seat for in the $600-700 range. I decided there had to be another solution. I found Schirmer Welding on Angie's list and called and asked if they even did something like this. He said he does it all the time for dealerships. He said we could bring it by whenever it was convenient. I asked for a quote and he said if they could weld it in place, as low as $20 but if they had to take the seat out and take everything apart to get to it, no more than $200. That sounded a lot better to me! So it was great. They are so friendly and nice. It took a day for them to get it done and was just under $200. They said the reinforced all the weld points so we shouldn't have this happen again. It was a great experience.
Description of Work: I had my front seat in my Honda Odyssey welded back on.

I can't believe how thorough Tim Schirmer is! He explained what needed to be done and went above and beyond to inspect the entire body of the car to make sure there wasn't anything else that might be a problem in the future. He even took it in for allignment for me afterward he finished replaceing parts. His final bill came in under his quote and he did way more than we thought he would. He explained everything carefully and showed us exactly what he'd done. I love my old Subaru and as any Subaru owner knows, the body almost always rusts before the engine quits. Thanks to the mechanical and welding experience of Tim Schirmer, my car will hopefull last many more years! I think Tim is a hard worker, charges a fraction of what other people charge, takes personal responsibility and pride for his work, and is respectful and communicative. The most impressive mechanic I've ever hired.
Description of Work: Replaced a rusted part of the subframe to which many critical parts are attached. A pretty complex job!

Tim custom-fit a luggage rack system onto my motorcycle. Since my bike is old (1983) there are no lockable luggage bag systems to fit it. So I bought a hard-bag luggage system that I liked and took it to TIm and said "can you rig up something to make this work?" A day later he called to say it was done. I couldn't believe how great it looks -- he painted it to match the bike and it looks like it came with the bike. All this for $250! I am so impressed -- he's a creative genius, and quick and inexpensive to boot!

My experience was great
Description of Work: I had a wrought iron patio chair, one of a set of four, on which an old weld had broken. I took it in and they welded the spot while I waited. They did a great job at a fair price.

THEY HANDLED THE JOB VERY PROFESSIONALLY AND WERE VERY POLITE AND EASY TO DEAL WITH ALL AROUND. THEY REALLY KNOW HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH CUSTOMERS, AND YOU CAN COMPLETELY TRUST THAT THEY WILL DO A GOOD JOB. I HAD NEVER HEARD OF THEM, BUT THEY WERE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY MY CAR DEALERSHIP. THEY ARE VERY WELL-ESTABLISHED, I THINK THEY SAID THEY'VE BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR 30 YEARS, AND I THINK WHAT THEY CHARGED ME WAS VERY REASONABLE. THEY DO ALL KINDS OF WELDING, NOT JUST ON CARS. THEIR SHOP IS VERY EASY TO GET TO FROM I-71. (VERY CLOSE TO XAVIER UNIVERSITY). EXCELLENT! THEY WERE A PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH. I WOULD LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH THEM AGAIN.
