They did an excellent job. I would recommend them to anyone who needs this type of job done because they were really good!

The gentleman that showed up explained in detail what needed to be done with the 2 rooms and that the voucher didn't cover what was needed. My husband then understood that there was some confusion on what exactly the voucher could be used for. The gentleman was very nice and was prompt on getting to the house. Our experience was excellent.

He came out and the offer is not what I need at this time per myself and the service provider. He was very honest.

We had some scratches on our floors that require more work than what the Big Deal is offering.

I am asking for a refund and then attempting to get quotes from other contractors.

mr ed schindler was up front, on time, reliable, trustworthy, available and current with all his information. We are so very pleased with the workmanship, the timeframe he met for us and the way he answered all our questions and concerns.

Ed and his crew were very professional. The job was divided up into teams and each team was courteous, professional, and patient.I was impressed that at the end of the day, everything was cleaned up regardless of whether that portion of the job was complete. Ed also repaired (stripped/sanded/stained) a portion of our hardwood floors that another installer almost 10 years goofed up. If we didn't know that part of the floor was restained, we'd never have guessed. The kitchen (ebony-stained red oak) is absolutely beautiful as is the living room (cherry-stained red oak). The crew who tore out the tile explained to us why we were experiencing problems with our kitchen tile floor for years (installed and reinstalled THREE times in ONE year by 2 different contractors 9 years ago). It was a relief to know that the tile breakage was a result of poor craftsmanship and not us! Ed and his crew couldn't be nicer and more cooperative. It was a pleasure doing business with Schindler Hardwood-if I can convince my husband to install hardwood on the staircase, I will definitely call Ed! lol

Outstanding job. Ed's team screwed down the subfloor because we had a terrible squeaking problem. They installed the new floor. Beautiful job.

They arrived on time. It took one day to strip the stairs and two half days to stain them. They did a good job of selecting stain to match the existing spindles and railing. They cleaned up after themselves.

I was impressed with Ed from the first time I spoke with him on the phone as I found out through talking with him that he was on vacation, but still chose to answer his phone and set up an appointment to give me a quote. A few days later, Ed came out to look at the steps that I wanted to put oak treads on. For every question I asked, Ed had an answer that made sense and showed his attention to detail (this was not the case with some of the other estimates I received). I received 5 estimates for the work and Ed's prices were very competitive. During the estimate, Ed pointed out some oddities in the staircase construction, but had answers about how he would deal with them. Ultimately, Ed provided the most thorough evaluation of the project and a very competitive bid. Work began on the day and time it was scheduled to start and went smoothly. Each night the tools and materials were cleaned up and organized. The oddities that Ed pointed out in the staircase when he quoted the project were totally resolved and look perfect now. When it comes time to convert more of my home to hardwood or refinish the existing hardwood, I will be calling Schindler Hardwood.

Ed and his team did an excellent job from start to finish. He offered a competitive price, showed up on time and did high quality work. His team was thorough and professional. They sanded our floors, then came back to consult with my wife on the preferred color of stain. In fact, Ed picked out a color that my wife liked better than her original first choice. They stained and finished the floor, replace the toe pieces and returned the furniture. We were very pleased with their work throughout.

Ed and his crew do top notch work. They are easy to work with. The places where the new floor meet the flooring in other rooms is absolutely amazing.

They were prompt to the agreed upon timing and went the extra mile, securing the subfloor prior to laying the new hardwood eliminating many squeaks in the floor. Then sanded and finished all of the hardwood. They also replaced all of the "toe" molding throughout the house where hardwood flooring now exists. Cleaned up and hauled away all debris (old carpet, wood scraps, etc.). Dust was minimal, but we had to clean this up ourselves. The end product was more than excellent! We could not have been happier and I have already recommended Schindler to one of my neighbors.

We're using them today and so far, they've done an excellent job. I just went to look at the coating they did and they look wonderful. I can't complain. They clean up after themselves, they're on time and they just do a great job. This is the second time we have used them. I would highly recommend them. I still have 2 rooms for them to do.

We have signed the contract and he will be doing the work. They are reasonably priced. We could tell he was very knowledgeable on the work that needs to be done. He made some really good suggestions that we are going to go with.

Ed was very prompt in returning my call to submit an estimate. He arrived at our house in a timely manner. He was knowledgeable, professional, polite and respectful the entire time we worked with him. We received 5 other quotes and chose Ed not only for his competitive pricing, but also because he was so trustworthy. We were leaving him to work in our house while we were out of town and needed someone to trust. We scheduled him to do the work at the beginning of April and came back from our spring break vacation to, what looked like, beautiful new hardwood floors. His quality was excellent. There was almost no dust and the floors looked amazing. We couldn't have been happier with the results. He came back after we were home to install the shoe mold because I wanted time to paint our baseboards. Last minute, we asked him if he could adjust (cut down) our laundry room door because it was scraping against the tile floor when we were opening and closing it. He did a great job on that extra task as well and charged us just a very minimal fee to take care of it. If we ever need to refinish our hardwood again, we will definitely call Ed.

Mr. Schindler was always prompt and courteous. The final price matched the estimate exactly. The work was started and completed according to the agreed-upon schedule. The final results are phenomenal! I had the hardwood floors in all the rooms of my new home done before I moved in. When a delay by my mortgage lender caused a 10 day delay in the closing, Mr. Schindler was understanding and accommodating. I stopped by the house at the end of the first day and found virtually no sanding dust. His suggestion to replace the shoe molding added slightly to the price, but the final result justified the expense. He stained it to the exact color I asked for. Everything is perfect to the last detail. I really believe that it looks just like it did the day the first owner moved in 60 years ago. I would recommend Schindler Hardwood to anyone without hesitation .

Schindler was one of 5 hardwood flooring companies we invited out to give us quotes. Although all 5 men that gave us quotes were very professional, only Mr. Schindler noticed and commented on a lot of squeaky areas in our floor and other existing flaws that needed attention. Ed's quote was very fair. Between the reasonable quote and the attention to detail he had shown, we hired him. He installed the new floor and refinished the existing last week. He did not disappoint! He is extremely professional, very articulate, and took care of all the items he had noted in his estimate. He worked with us to get the floor done at a time that was ideal for us, although not necessarily convenient for him. He brought a young apprentice with him (a very polite young man) and he made an effort to teach him about the importance of paying attention to all the little things (fixing squeaks, not bringing dirt into someone's house on shoes, taking the extra time to do things right). We were impressed. The floor is absolutely gorgeous (both the new and the refinished) and we couldn't be happier! He clearly enjoys his work and it shows!

After comparing a number of quotes from other installers Schindler Hardwood had the best price and services by far. SchHardwood agreed to let us leave large pieces of furniture in the house and help us move them as the project progressed. In addition, the price of nails, glue and felt were included in the quote. They also eliminated the squeaks in the floors for no extra charge. We had purchased the hardwood from someone else and the order was delayed multiple times. Schindler Hardwood was patient and understanding when we had to reschedule installation. While the work was being performed they inspected every board for quality defects. They went above and beyond and looked for distinct characteristics that we thought were outstanding for clearly visible locations and characteristics we considered not as pleasing for closets and under cabinets. Upon completion the work exceeded our expectations. There were no hidden costs or additional charges for any services or materials. We intend to get Schindler Hardwood to perform more work in the upper level of our house. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

The estimate was as far as it went. The guy who came out to give us the quote was very knowledgeable and very upfront, but I don't know if he was the owner or one of the main guys. I think that we had to call him back. He was very professional. We would definitely get another estimate from them.

They are very thorough, came out when they said they would, and do great work. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I have given them a key to my house while they've been working and they have been very trustworthy and lock up after they're done.
