Schindler Hardwood

The floors look great and they matched to the dining room floor perfectly. We liked the 2 person team that came in and did the work over the 3 day period. They did a great job setting up plastic to stop the dust from penetrating the other rooms in the house. We had one glitch when they were finished and pulled the tape on the wallpaper it actually tore off a section of the paper. The owner called immediately and told us what they did and acted quickly to get a person to come in to see what would be an appropriate fix. She was an artist that was able to paint over to match a difficult pattern. We were happy with the fix and would in no way stop us from using this group again. You see a lot of references saying things went great I like to see references where something went wrong and they fixed it to our satisfaction.

They refinished the hardwood on the first floor of my house. It took about 4 days.

Schindler Hardwood did an amazing job on our hardwood floors. They were delayed in starting the project (suppose to start Monday, ending up being Wednesday) due to issues at another job but put in extra hours to get our job done as soon as possible. Scott was very professional and regularly updated me on the work. He worked both Saturday and Sunday in order to get the poly coats done so that we could retrieve our dogs from the border prior to the holiday and be back in the house. We couldn't be happier with the look of the floors. They were able to remove multiple stains and imperfections. They also addressed multiple issues caused by work done by previous owners. The stairs and floor are made of different woods and Scott worked hard to ensure a close match between the two. Would definitely use again!

Ed is one of the most professional contractors I have met. His prices were fair compared to other companies I had quote the job, he showed up on time, and was in constant communication with me. His team was not as professional as he was. There were a few times were they made begrudging comments about having to do certain work. The quality of the floors was good, there were certain areas with numerous gaps between boards that other companies said they would not fill. Ed did that extra work at no extra cost. The floors themselves looked great in the end though there were a few things that could have been better. 1) the crew showed up with too short of shoe molding, so that a paintline was left on my baseboards. The crew did bring this up to me and asked if it was ok. I agreed to it since it was an easy fix but it would have been better if they had showed up with the correct molding. 2) Most of my walls were left scuffed and scratched, this was frustrating as I had painted the house the week before they came. 3) The crew was supposed to contact me when they finished sanding the upstairs so that I could see the condition of a few stains in the floor and determine if I needed to replace boards. They did not contact me and I was left with the stains. I brought up all these issues with Ed and he was incredibly responsive and took the criticism with a large amount of graciousness and professionalism. Overall the transformation of my floors was incredible and I probably would hire Ed again but I would play a more active role in checking the work throughout the job so that I noticed issues as they happened instead of after the job cleanup was completed.

Outstanding! Ed was super knowledgeable regarding the pros and cons of the refinishing project. The 2 craftsmen who completed the work were highly professional, courteous and most importantly did a superb job in turning my horrible looking floor into a truly beautiful looking state.

Everything was good. Best part was that they brought to my attention defects early on and gave me the opportunity to get things fixed before they could refinish. Many other contractors don't like to tell you about carpentry defects because it impacts their schedule and they are not as efficient. But they let me know about termite damage that needed repaired even though it impacted their schedule a small amount while they were waiting on me to make repairs. They are easy to work with and have good communication procedures so that I always knew what to expect. Price was much lower than other contractors also.

Ed and his team did an excellent job. He was profession, punctual, knowledgeable, and returned all calls very quickly. He worked with a very tight work schedule and gave me a very competitive bid. Ed's team was great. They were respectful of our home and left the house cleaner than they found it. If you have any hardwood floor needs I cannot recommend Schindler Hardwood enough. We had a great experience with them and our floors look great!

Ed and his crew were absolutely wonderful! They were very thorough and did an amazing job with our floors! The guys that came out for the install were very professional, punctual, and very patient while they waited for me to decide on a stain color. They did an absolutely wonderful job and were super friendly! We will definitely be calling again for any future flooring needs! :)

From the first phone call with Ed Schindler I felt comfortable that this was the company I wanted to work with. Everything went very smoothly, the workers were always on time, left everything very neat, totally professional team. We left the country while most of the work was being done and felt completely comfortable leaving them in charge of the house. It was a great treat to come home to beautiful floors. Great experience, love my floors!

We tried to sand and refinish our foyer and botched it up royally. I left e-mails on Angies List for several companies and Ed Schindler was the only one to get back with me. Even though it was the holidays and we had a small job, he came out right away and got the job done. We were trying to match a floor that was being installed in the rest of the house. After the other floor went down, we realized the sheen on the foyer didn't match. They came back out, buffed the floor and applied a semi-gloss coating. Ed went above and beyond our expectations. I would definitely hire him again.

This company was reliable and very professional. They worked while we were not home, we trusted the owner, Ed Schindler, to work as if was his kitchen that needed new hardwood floor . The Floor turned out great.

It went great right from the time the owner, Ed Schindler, came out to give us an estimate. He was recommended by a neighbor who had floors refinished last year. He was one of three companies who gave us estimates. I was very impressed with Ed's attention to detail while assessing the job, especially compared to the other two. He was very clear about what they would do and how long it would take. He and his crew showed up right on time the day the work was scheduled to begin. They assessed the condition of the flooring after the carpet was removed and, after some initial sanding, put down samples of stains for us to choose from. We had to be out of the house for the rest of the week while the refinishing work was being done so we took a mini-vacation out of town. Ed kept in touch by phone throughout the week regarding progress and a minor repair issue they ran into in one of the rooms. They finished on schedule and the floors look great. There was one small problem with the new toe molding they installed. Because it was made from a different wood than the flooring, it took the stain differently and was noticeably lighter than the floor. Ed sent a crew back out to apply some additional stain at no additional cost. We are extremely happy with the results. The folks on his crew were good to work with and we felt very comfortable giving them free access to our home while we were away.

I would highly recommend Schindler Hardwood Flooring to anyone. I am new home buyer and incurred floor damage to my kitchen floor when Lowe's damaged my kitchen flooring when delivering my kitchen appliances. Schinder returned my call promptly and gave me an estimate. The best part is that they would move the appliances for me whereas most other companies around town would not. I worked with Ed, owner on the estimate and timing. He was honest and fair in his pricing and the scope of the job. He made sure to have the floors finished in time before our little baby was born. The floors are finished and look fantastic. The technician that completed the job did a fantastic job. He even had me come preview a section of the flooring before he finished to ensure that I was happy with the stain. They came back and moved the appliances back into the home as well as dropped off my house key. The workers ensured to tape down plastic and cleaned up their mess. In sum, I would definitely recommend Schindler Hardwood flooring to anyone looking to get the hardwood floors redone.

They did everything as quoted which included sand, stain, two coats of polyurethane, and shoe molding. They moved the stove and refrigerator out and back in so underneath those appliances its the same as the rest of the flooring The end result was very nice. The resurfacing process really brought out the unique grain in the hardwood. I expected the improvement in smoothness and sheen but hadn't realized just how muted the grain texture had been before the resurfacing. We had to leave the house for three days once they started staining and the smell of the stain took some additional time to begin dissipating but I bought an air purifier that included an odor filter and that helped. If the weather had been warmer I would have just left the windows open. I'd definitely recommend Ed and his crew.

Everything from estimate to completed project was handled professionally. Mr. Schindler and all his crew were on schedule, did a great job, and cleaned afterwards. The finished floors are beautiful! I will go to Schindler for any future project and recommend highly.

Everything went perfectly! Ed was great to deal with & the 2 men who actually did the work were very nice and informative. I knew my floors would look better but I was amazed at how fantastic they actually turned out. Better than I could have hoped for. I am recommending this company to all who are admiring my beautiful floors. When hiring a contractor, you are always taking a chance and it is a good feeling when you hire the right one!
