My company has been a Rumpke Customer for over 30 years. After watching our trash collection prices climb and climb, and putting up with our employees being treated disrespectfully by their drivers, we decided it was time to look at other options. Best Way was over 30% cheaper. All other vendors were significantly cheaper! If you have an option, do yourself a big favor and shop this around. Rumpke's unscrupulous business practices make it extremely difficult to move on. Their contracts are the most one sided unethical documents I have ever seen. When I showed our attorney he commented that he doesn't think he has ever seen a contract that bad. I knew they had bad contracts and had always instructed everyone on my team to never sign them. After talking with Rumpke several times, and them offering only modest decreases in rates that are still very high compared to competitors they informed me that they have signed contracts. The contracts they produced were at least 3 years old and some as old as 7 years. They will use sneaky tactics to get someone in your company to sign these, and then they hold them in their war chest. The contracts all have 3 year terms with auto renewals, allow them to raise prices whenever they feel like it for whatever reason, and they have an insanely small cancellation window. You must notify them no less than 60 and no more than 120 days before the end of the contract to get out. If you try to get out of their contract they will hit you with exorbitant "liquidated damages" fees. Six times your monthly rate, plus $100 per container. We have multiple locations, and they tried to pull a fast one on us by adding locations onto the liquidated damages fees that we had no contract on. They also tried to add fuel charges onto the liquidated damages fee. In an attempt of being reasonable and getting this behind us, I have offered to negotiate the liquidated damages to a reasonable level and move on. They refused to discuss it. After 30 plus years of being a customer and never paying a bill late, the way they have treated us is abhorrent. They tend to come on a timely basis which it typical for any type of garbage collection. They come like clockwork.

The service has been fine. We will continue using them in the future.

They pick up the garbage on time.

They usually take about anything I put out there. They are very good, sometimes I put one can and sometimes I put 4. Whatever I put at the end of my drive they take, I've never had any problems. They don't leave a mess. They don't tell us any kind of time they are coming, just sometime during the day depending on weather, etc. I have no problem with that, they always come on the day they say.

They normally do a pretty good job. I have seen them go out of their way to stop for people and get out to throw things in the truck. I have also witnessed some laziness and now they use trucks that just smash the cans as they pick them up. Been here over 6 months and so far I am pleased.

They do a good job. They never miss us and they pick up trash anytime without hassles.
