I don't get estimates for painting anymore. I always get 3+ estimates when getting any work done at my house, but as far as I am concerned nobody does a better job at a good price than Klei Painting. I am spoiled...after I had them the first time year ago I don't want to paint anymore! This is my 3rd paint job with them. Brian Klei came out and gave me a very reasonable quote and was extremely flexible timing the paint with a carpet installation. Brian came on the first day and patched the walls and painted the ceiling. Second day he painted the walls. Everything went perfect and tomorrow the carpet will be installed. Brian even said if the new paint gets damaged during the carpet install call him and he will come by in a day or two and fix it no charge. Just a good, honest, friendly company to deal with and the only one I need to call for my painting needs. I recommend you give them a call.

The job went great. The doors and trim looks new. Couldn't ask for a better job.

I have used the company in the past to paint the exterior of my home. The painting for the condo has not yet been started. The staff is efficient and they have a good reputation in my neighborhood. They have painted and remodeled churches and homes in the area. They are very accommodating and flexible with scheduling. The are also very polite and professional. They are happy to stand behind their work.

Summary: Very unprofessional contractor who did not even give us a chance to review his workmanship by accepting quote, then delaying start of job and then reneging on his commitment. Details follow. Full story: We contacted Brian Klei to do a quote on a sizeable outdoor paint and staining job. He came in very early August and submitted a quote on August 5, giving us verbal assurance that the work could be completed before the end of September. Since he seemed competent, described the needed work well and came substantially lower than other quotes, we provided e-mail acceptance on Aug 15. We had agreed that a few additional things would need to be added to the quote later, that we would meet again before the start of the work to decide on paint colors (4 different jobs with different colors), and that he would drop off color swatches a few days later on our porch. I turned down the other quotes. A few weeks went by which did not surprise me since he had other work and we knew he could not start our job immediately. He did not drop any paint swatches. I contacted him again on Aug 25 as we had a new commitment in mid-October and I wanted to firm up the September date. He replied rather abruptly that the September completion date was just an estimate. All his e-mail replies BTW were a one-sentence answer, with very little customer courtesy in his wording. Not too happy I waited some more and contacted him again on Sep 12 asking for some start dates. Again, a very short and stern reply ?We do the jobs as they are approved?. After another month, I e-mailed him on Oct 12 to ask him what his schedule looked like and he offered an Oct 30 start date (easily 1 ½ month later than originally anticipated). I agreed by e-mail, restating what we had agreed upon and asking again for a meeting to settle paint colors. This was his answer on Oct 18: ?We have talked about it and we are going to respectfully withdraw from doing your paint job. Based on your last email there are going to be too many unforeseen issues that I did not anticipate?. I am dumbfounded by this lack of professionalism. What does this answer mean? After quoting and accepting a job offer, forcing the potential customer to turn down 2 other quotes, delaying start date and wasting 2 ½ months, Brian seems to think that a customer who asks too many questions is a nuisance that he is no longer willing to deal with. The job was not difficult, he assured and convinced us he could do it easily and then simply dropped us with no time to re-engage other bidders and get the job done before the winter. If Brian treats all customers (or even a few) this way, I don?t think his business will (or deserves to) last long. I certainly don?t wish for future prospects who are reading this review to suffer the same frustration at the hands of this unprofessional contractor, which is why I wrote such a long review. Maybe if he reads this review, he will learn that customers should be treated with a little more respect. Of course I cannot attest to his skills as a painter as he did not give me the opportunities to.

Did not purchase as the price was nearly double that of the next closet estimate for the same work

I've used them a few times. They are very careful and do an excellent job. They also have really good prices. He even sent me a check for a partial refund after the job was done because he thought he had overcharged me.

They were very polite on the phone and the individual who came was very nice, but it has been a month and they still haven't sent the estimate.

I thought they were excellent and are scheduled to come out this month to repaint. Even though they did an excellent job, I did think their pricing was a little expensive.

I reviewed this company about 6 months ago. They painted our living room and dinning room. I ended that review with " Have you ever hired a company you felt so good about the next time you just call them first? That's how good I feel about this company" Well....I called them again to come back and paint our bedroom and I didn't call anybody else for an estimate because they did such a beautiful job on the Living/dinning room. Since it was a small job Brian Klei said he could come after I got home from work (late afternoon) This was perfect, I didn't have to take time off work! Steve ( I hope I have his name correct) showed up first and got started right on time. Very nice guy as well as an excellent painter. Brian came and together they did the job in about 2 hours. I can't stress enough what nice guys they are and what a great job they did. Now that it has dried it is beautiful! Our walls are 1950's plaster ( a little rough) they really look nice now...big improvement on the last time they were painted (I did the job:-) If you need a painter I can't imagine a better company for the job.

Used quality product, prepped well, clean up each day. Owner was very responsive, before and after the work. Definitely use them again.

Ron came out several times to do the patch work. He would do a little then it would have to dry. Then he would call and stop by at our arrainged time and do the next part of it untill it was done and ready for paint. ( 5 -10min each time is all it took him) On "Paint day" his sons showed up right on time to do the painting. They were really nice just like their dad. Moved everything out to the center of the room and put it all back when done. They are 1st class painting pros the job was done perfectly! In the past I have always done all my own painting and if my wife lets me, I may never paint again now, I will call KLEI! Have you ever found a company that you felt so good about your experience that next time you will skip the estimates and call them first? Well that's how I feel about Klei & Sons.

Said he would show up on a specified date ( I didn't need to be there) for an estimate. After about 2 weeks I was home one day when he shows up unexpectedly and it was ok but I rather know when someone is coming especially if I think they have already been there. I live alone and don't like unannounced visits. The estimate was almost 3X that of another highly recommended contractor. For me the price was just too high. The experience was not bad but I would not use this contractor.

I am very pleased with the finished product, the wall is smooth, no more buckling and peeling plaster. They worked within my schedule, plastering first which took 2 days, waiting 2 weeks and then coming back for a morning of painting. Both were pleasant and cleaned up very well after the work was done.

. He was highly recommended by a builder. He is not from one of those franchise stores. He is an individual who owns a painting company. So he does not enter his findings in the computer but he just mailed me the estimate. He did it within 24 hours. I would use them in the future.

He did a really good job and he was a nice guy. He was there when he said he would be there. They cleaned up after themselves. They finished it in the time that they told us it would be finished. It looks good.

Ron Klei's firm is excellent. I used them 4 years ago for a major job, recommend them to friends who have been satisfied and am more than satisfied this time. They are prompt, courteous, and professional. They are very careful to replace everything where they found it and do a good job of cleaning up afterword. I will definitely use them again.

Overall, the experience was good. The service was done several years ago and the work has held up well. I'm happy with their services and I would recommend them.

His responsiveness was excellent. However, his price was higher than the other quotes I received.

I emailed this company to quote painting the exterior of my 6 year old house. He responded that he would be out to take a look at the house and provide a quote in the mail. I did not receive the quote until more than a week after I requested it. In addition, the quote was for 2x the price of other quotes I received. The slow response to provide an estimate and the very high price are the reasons I did not use this company.

They may do good work, but I'll never know. He refused to schedule an appointment any later than 3pm on a weekday or anytime on a weekend to come over and see the work to do an estimate. Did not suggest any alternatives like early morning, etc. While I would have been flexible once the work was contracted, I have never had anyone who did home maintenance type work be so inflexible relative to estimates. They must not need the work.
