The wall was 4' to 5' from the house and it tapered from 6' tall to 3' tall. This wall had to be replaced due to poor workmanship by a different stone mason. He came recommended by one of the top engineering firms in Cincinnati. Great work and personable. He also built a curved 2' high wall.
Description of Work: Rebuilt a 40' long stone retaining wall.

After a agreeing on a time to meet and review the proposed project they provided a estimate completion time frame. They were detailed and proficient in ensuring they provided quality work. Rock Masters has done all the stone work completed on my home for the past five years. They rebuilt my driveway wall and built planters in the front of the house. Like always, their work is top notch and professional craftsmanship. The projects varied in price and in complexity. I am constantly asked "who did my stone work"and I have been proud to tell them Stone Masters. I highly recommend them if you want the "best" in stone work. After completion of their project they cleaned up their workplace and reviewed the project with me. As a result I have and will continue to use their crafted services in the renovation of my home. Pictures of their work speaks for itself.
Description of Work: Although their work can be seen in multiple states and on the Freedom Center, over the last five past years, Rock Masters has performed various mid sized and residential unique projects. They craftsmanship has aided in the transformation of my ongoing house renovations. They have rebuilt my retaining walls from the ground up, five individual planters and several stone planters that wrap around my entire house. From custom fire places to curved wall, "works of art" Stone Master is a vivid example of the consummate masonry American Master. Their prices were commensurate with other bids but they provide exceptionally superior quality work.

Rock Masters was recommended by a geotechnical engineer who had worked with them on other projects. (The engineering firm had used them on a job for a major client in New York, flying the Cincinnati crew there to do a restoration job at a historic house). The bid from Rock Masters was substantially lower than the other bid we had received. They were able to start work very soon after submitting the bid. The frequent rains slowed the project, preventing them from working on many days. However they came whenever they could. There was a construction trailer and bobcat on site for weeks. I asked that the trailer be stored in our drive, not on the street, to avoid annoying the neighbors. They complied without objection even though that added to their work, manuevering the trailer in and out of the drive many times. They cleaned up the drive when it got muddy, didn't leave at the end of the day without doing this. When the job was over, they power washed the drive and patio, did a very thorough job. The rebuilt walls are beautiful. Very fine workmanship. The walls are a prominent feature of our backyard; they definitely enhance the appearance and value of our home. Mr. Hodge was very easy to reach on his cellphone whenever we had questions. He uses a small crew. They were pleasant, easy to be around.
Description of Work: Rock Masters took down two stone walls and rebuilt them. Walls were limestone, 80 years old and beginning to lean. They rebuilt them to match the originals. They also fixed cracks and tuckpointed two walls. The walls are around a driveway leading to a garage in the lower level of an older home. The site is very difficult to access; the width of the drive prevented access by any large vehicles. One company declined to bid the job because of the difficulty in getting equipment in.
