Renewal by Andersen of Cincinnati

We contacted this company to provide a quote on the replacement of 2 sliding glass doors and 1 window. They were responsive and came to our home to look at the doors/window and provide an estimate within a week of initial contact and seemed professional. Subsequently we got other quotes from different providers that were 35-40% less on the sliding doors. We decided to visit the showroom to see if we could look at the different doors they were quoting and understand if using Renewal by Andersen was worth the premium. Upon entering the showroom, there was 1 woman working who didn't seem to want to come out of the office to greet us and upon explaining why we were there, she reluctantly came out. In the "showroom", they only had 1 door and when we inquired into whether there was any other place we could see the product they had quoted us , we received the response "doors are big you know". I myself am in customer service and was appalled at the lack of respect and poor attitude exhibited by this person. Even after this bad experience, we were still considering using this company for our window install since that pricing seemed more reasonable so my husband called today to schedule the install however upon calling, he was told the price was only good if we did the doors as well. I can understand that there could be some savings in sending out a crew for a day to complete 3 jobs vs 1. What really was the nail in the coffin for this company was when the sales person told us, if we were using another company for the doors, then "why don't you just use them for the window too?" The complete lack of respect and poor customer service will deter us from using this company or recommending them to anyone.

Our windows were from original construction of our house approx. 25 years ago. Since we were out shopping we stopped at the Renewal by Andersen showroom and sat down with Rick McConnell. He was very helpful and explained the product & our options, the installation process and the time line involved. Since we had the approx. measurements he gave us a price and we decided to purchase. He scheduled an appointment for him to come and measure and he called a head and showed up on time and measured, he then scheduled a second appointment for the man who checks the measurements and he called a head and showed up on time and did the measurements again. The windows came in a couple weeks early and Rick called to let us know and to schedule a date for the installers. The installers called a head and were on time, they came in and went right to work. They were very professional and finished the job in less than 2 full days. They answered all our questions and showed us how the windows work. We are very pleased with the product and the people, so pleased that we are having them replace our front door & sidelites.

Came out for estimate, but stated would have to have a separate contractor do the wood work. He did mention he could replace the window, but the problem is with a leak around the wood..

We got bids from several providers to replace our front door system. We have an elliptical transom that is in a discontinued size. RBA were able to provide us with the custom glasswork in the style we wanted at the best price. The installation was delayed twice by weather. When the installers came to put the new system in, it fit like a glove. They were in and out in about 3 hours, and the new system looks great. There were some minor problems with the trim, which they replaced promptly and with high quality. They sales, service, and leadership teams are very responsive. I expect to never have to replace the front door system again. I will consider them when I go to replace windows or other doors, but naturally I will get bids from other providers as well.

They were wonderful overall! The initial sales rep measured the windows approximately, but then another technician came out to re-measure, so everything is exact! The more windows that are bought, the greater of a discount it is. They cleaned up everything afterwards and did a great job! Everything went beautifully.

The services have been wonderful overall! We’ve been very pleased with them. They’re very clean, never leave any mess, and put everything back that needed to be moved. They’re very courteous, respectful and efficient, too.

Their services were fine overall, but the windows have a greenish casting to them. I wasn’t expecting this, but otherwise, everything went well.

There were some issues with the first experience I had with them, but they have switched management since I worked with them initially, in 2005. There were some issues with the installation; the handles were installed on the wrong side on the door. I explained to the sales rep that we wanted to switch the way the door opened, but the door ended up opening the same way. I never received a good explanation. The project was way behind schedule too, and they told me it was because they were having a difficult time getting materials due to Hurricane Katrina. However, the most recent experience with the new ownership was good. The new owner was the one who came to my home; he was very professional and involved with the project. Everything was done on time and there no problems.

The service was good overall. They got the job done on time and their pricing was fair.

Overall the project went well from start to finish. On time, at quoted cost. What more can you ask.

Friend had used this company in their high end home. We were impressed with the work done. Figured if they did the same quality for our mid-range home we would be golden. We are quite pleased. The sales rep was a straight shooter. The franchise owner genuinely interested in our business and requests. The work crew was very professional, polite, thorough and cleaned up the work site. Will use this company again.

Excellent product introduction an sales was provided by the sales manager. Detailed measurements were taken after the order was accepted. Product installtion took place sooner than was originally scheduled. The technician who completed the intial detailed measurements arrived with the installers to verify and check dimensions prior to installation. All windows appear to fight properly with minor routine shimming. Windows have performed flawlessly and the comfort of our double-high family room is noticeably improved. We later purchased a replacement sliding glass door from the as well. Now the bad news: The original business entity went out of business, I believe in early 2010. The new franchise ownership contacted us, in November, 2010, to let us know how to get service and do business with them in the future. We were able to get prompt service from them when we had a slight caulking leak; the located and fixed the problem immediately.

We did extensive research about various brands and types of windows. We had several companies do an in house presentation about their windows. Ron Brennan represented Renewal by Anderson. We found Ron to be very professional with extensive knowledge about his product. Ron is also very low key and did not try to hard sell us. Anderson Windows are not the cheapest windows on the market; in fact, they are at the high end price wise. We struggled with the price and Ron was very understanding about our struggle. In the end we decided the product was worth the price and when the windows were installed we were not disappointed. The whole process went very smoothly from measurement to installation. The trim that Anderson included was amazing and the fit was perfect. I believe in the window business that you truly do " Get what you pay for" and I highly recommend this company.

Overall, very pleased with the product and experience. One visit to showroom, one appointment for in-home pitch and rough measurements, proposal prepared and approved, one appointment for final measurements and installed about 6 weeks later. Installation took a day and half. Installation crew was EXCELLENT. Very polite, professional and highly efficient. (Three guys had the old windows out in about 4 hours). Be aware these windows are not inexpensive. This is a premium product, Andersen knows it and they charge accordingly. But compared to two other local companies (Gilkey and Champion), the extra expense was worth it to get a top quality product. TIP: Double check the grid patterns before final approval. We had a minor issue (pattern was not what we expected for two windows). Wasn?t their fault, wasn?t mine either, just a miscommunication. Problem was corrected promptly.

I had worked with this company in the past. When I decided that I needed to replace my windows, I contacted them. They came to my home, and helped me work through the details, measured, etc. The salesman was great to work with and helped me with all questions that I had. The installation took place on May 7, 2012 and all looks great. The installers were polite and professional. They cleaned up after themselves and explained everything I needed to know to maintain the windows.

In terms of purchasing the windows, Anderson was a great company to work with. They were very professional and helpful. They made the process painless and I can’t recommend them enough. They set me up with a great installer as well.

After researching three window replacement companies we called Anderson. Rick McConnell was our sales consultant. He set up a time that was convenient for us and came to the house. We found him to be very professional yet friendly and personable. He explained in detail all of the options that were available to us and answered all of our questions. We wanted double hung windows all around except over the kitchen sink - there we wanted an awning window. He explained how that would work and also thought it was a good idea for that space. He did a preliminary measurement of all windows and then gave us an estimate. He invited us to visit the showroom to see the windows in person. We did that and Rick was in the showroom to greet us. After seeing the windows we went home and considered our options. We called several days later and put in the order. Dave came out and measured each window space so that the new windows would fit perfectly. The windows came in ahead of schedule. We got a call to set up an installation day and time. Randy and Aaron were our installers. They showed up on time and were very pleasant. They worked very well together and explained how the process would work. They did one room at a time. They made ever effort to keep things clean. All of the windows were in on the first day. They came back the second day and finished with insulation, sealing and installing trim. Randy and Aaron did a remarkable job. Our house is 17 years old and has settled. Our old windows had gaps that let the air right in. The new windows are made for the space, sealed tight and finished beautifully. The difference is amazing. I especially love the awning window in the kitchen. We purchase the TruScene screen for the kitchen windows. They are made of stainless steel and are nearly invisible. We chose full length screens for all windows so that we can open the windows at the top to let air in while keeping our dogs from damaging the screen. After the job was complete we got a call from Rick making sure that everything was to our satisfaction. Andersen Windows also come with a warranty. It covers 20 years on glass, two years on installation and 10 years on components other than glass. It is also transferable if you sell your home. Each window is labeled with its own ID number and Andersen's number. If you ever need service you have the info that you need for them to take care of a specific issue. We are 100% satisfied and totally happy with the entire process and our fantastic new windows. Thanks Rick, Dave, Randy, Aaron and Andersen. It was done right!

Renewal by Anderson was not able to do the work we needed but were very kind to give us a good reference.

The work was perfect. They showed up when they said they would. The manufacturing and quality of the doors are great. It looks good.

Anderson windows looked to be top quality. Ultimately we decided that we could get similar quality at a lower price with Gilkey. I was attracted to stiffness of the composite frame and the increased glass area, but the price difference was too high a hill to go over.

I had them do my windows completely. The entire service was very well done. The scheduling was good and the workmanship was good. I was very pleased. I would use them again in the future if need be.

We were happy with the prompt and professional service as well as some follow up visits to correct some minor things. The workmen were very accommodating as they not only put in the windows, but also removed and then placed back our drapes, blinds, and furniture. Also, when a problem arose with some of the blinds not reaching the windowsill, they readjusted the blinds and had the warehouse make a board to fit above the blinds at no additional cost. We researched several companies and although Renewal by Andersen was a little more expensive than most, we felt the cost was well worth the extra money because of the professionalism of the company. We did not encounter one bad experience starting with the man who did the initial estimate to the workmen who installed the windows. They did what they said that they would do without a hassle.

Our estimator was very professional and knowledgeable. Discussed the installation process and reviewed by the products we would be using. A technician came out to do measurements after we made our selection. Windows arrived about 7 weeks after ordering. I was very happy with the quality of the windows and doors. My only gripe was the installer kept me hanging for 2 days. He repeatedly moved back the time of my installation on the first day and then cancelled until the next day. He arrived late the second day. Installation took several hours. There were some finishing issues that he couldn't resolve. After he left for the day, I found nails on the deck and in the carpeting of my bedroom. Another technician came out several days later to finish the job and I was pleased with his work. The windows and door look great and most importantly...no more drafts!!!

Following original installation the door slab had to be replaced due to bulges on both interior & exterior door surfaces and chipping on the exterior. Payment was made in full but because the work was incomplete and written documentation of the issues was forwarded to the credit card company, the final 50% payment was taken off our bill. A second interim payment of an additional 25% was made in October 2008 following continuing work by Renewal. So 75% of the original total bill had been paid although the work was not yet complete. After multiple delays and problems with the product, installation, and customer service, the manager requested final payment prior to all the work being completed via email on 1/14/09. We responded, via email, on 1/17/09 that we did not want to pay the entire amount as we still had outstanding issues. The management responded with a 1/17/09 email requesting payment during the week of 1/19/09, except for $100, promising work completion later. While we were negotiating this final payment via email, Renewal by Anderson placed a lien on our home which we received 1/21/09 and dated 1/20/09. No written bill for the amount due was ever received by us except for the email and no prior notice of an imminent lien being placed was ever received. We received the lien via registered mail which was the first we heard about the lien. The manager did not even give us the week of 1/19/09 (manager's own time line) to meet her request for payment and we were in the middle of written payment negotiation when the lien was placed. They stated we would not return phone calls. This is not true. We returned every phone call. We had to call them multiple times to get a response from them. There was delay after delay. They contacted us a year after the original install only because the bill had not been paid in full, thanks to our credit card company who determined from our written correspondence with Renewal and communication with the vendor, that the work had not been done to our satisfaction and that there were outstanding issues. We learned with them that we needed everything in writing because they tended to "forget: what they had agreed to. Their installers did damage our brick on the 2nd installation as we have before photos of the area. They did take an amount off the final bill fro this damage which is what we were negotiating when the lien was placed. They did not honor their own documented time line for resolution and payment before the lien was placed.
