OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENTS INC

A neighbor used Outdoor Environments Incorporated this month. I did not see any reviews for this company so I thought I would make their information available.

Overall experience was very positive. They carried through on all the commitments relative to price, timing and execution.

We obtained three proposals from reputable companies and Outdoor Environments was the clear winner for price, expertise, and solid references. They even came in at LESS THAN HALF the estimate of one company. We were told by one of the losing bidders that Outdoor Environments was tough to beat and the gentleman heaped high praise on his competitor. Scott - the owner of Outdoor Environments - was great to work with and his team conducted themselves professionally. We couldn't believe how quickly the job was completed - just three days! This outfit definitely knows what it's doing. There was no standing around, goofing off, or any sort of unprofessional behavior. The crew was well organized and worked in concert with each other every step of the way. The engineering plan was followed to the letter. Large equipment and a huge pile of excavated soil was kept out of our way during construction. Clean-up was thorough with nothing left behind. We need to add that Scott communicated well with us throughout the entire process. The near historic rainfall we had at this time made things very difficult for him to stay on schedule. We accepted up front that the start date would slide according to the weather and Scott kept us fully informed. Once the work started it went off without a hitch. I highly recommend Outdoor Environments to anyone with a need for serious retaining wall installation. Their work is exceptional.

Original wall(s) were built with smaller blocks and were beginning to sag due to improper installation. They combined both walls into one using large blocks. At the same time they re-aligned the wall I had done earlier to make both walls join into a single straight wall for easier mowing. Also, a shrub had to be moved during construction and they replanted it for me. I wish I had gotten an estimate from them for the first two walls I had done. I suspect I would have saved myself a significant amount of money. I found the crew that came out to be very professional and willing to go the extra mile to be sure they were doing exactly what I wanted.

OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENTS DID A GREAT JOB INSTALLING THE WALL, STEPS, AND BRICK PAVERS. AT THE TIME OF THE INITIAL ESTIMATE, THEY WERE ''TWO WEEKS OUT'' BEFORE THEY COULD START ON THE JOB. THEY STAYED TWO WEEKS OUT FOR SEVERAL WEEKS, SUCH THAT THE WORK ACTUALLY BEGAN 7-8 WEEKS AFTER ACCEPTANCE OF THEIR ESTIMATE. OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENTS ONLY INSTALLS THE WALL; THEY DO NOT DO ANY LANDSCAPING WORK TO FIX THE AREA AROUND THE WALL.
