OSTERWISCH CO

This is the third time I have called electricians for a problem when I lose electricity to all outlets in the dining room, living room and front porch. I called two other electricians and each time they figured out an answer and fixed the problem for several months. This time a friend recommended I call Osterwisch. It took them several days to come out, but the electrician came on time. He asked many questions before he went down to look at the electric panel in my basement. He said that the circuit breaker which handled this electricity was too sensitive, and that's why it was breaking so often. This circuit breaker had been put on by one of the earlier electricians. He replaced it with a "normal" one, and said that it should not represent any danger of electrical fire from overloaded circuits and that it met the code. I have not had any trouble since.

We had one other plumber come out to help find the leak. when I scheduled with Osterwisch I asked them to have the plumber bring their camera with them; the camera is supposed to go down the crevices in the wall to, hopefully, see where the leak is so the hole that has to be created in the drywall will be in the right location. The scheduler didn't pass that on to the plumber so he had to leave to get it. I didn't care for the inconvenience since I had specifically asked them to bring their camera. Otherwise, the plumber was professional and seemed to understand this was an inconvenience to me. I dont' think I was billed for his time to leave and pick up the camera. The plumber tried to find the leak but eventually had to give up because he thought it was behind a cabinet which was on the opposite side of the wall he had cut a few exploring holes. He said he doesn't remove cabinets from the wall so asked me to call him back once I have someone else remove the cabinet.

They are prompt and courteous. They do good work and clean up after themselves. I will use them again in the future.

I came home from work to meet the plumber he was punctual. He didn't come dressed like he was ready to do work. He had on jeans and company sweatshirt. He said my pipes were too small for a camera to go in. Thought water was coming from a different place that it actually was. Even though I have used Osterwisch before I just didn't have the comfort level with the estimator who came out. I tried to call Osterwisch to ask a few questions but the guy who heads the dept was out of the office. When I talked to him orginally I felt good about them coming out but when the estimator came out not so much.

Work was done just as promised. Very professional.

They were quick, efficient, on time, and they took care of the problem.

They were professional, cleaned up, did a good job, were timely, and prompt. I would recommend them. They are also courteous.

Overall this went very well. I promptly received an estimate and work was started within a week of signing a contract. The installer arrived when promised, worked diligently, did a neat installation and cleaned up after himself. Work was organized so that we had no power at all for just a few hours. Then individual circuits were turned on as they were reconnected throughout the late afternoon/early evening. The only thing that did not go according to plan was the length of time required to complete the installation. Originally expected to take one day, it took about a day and a half including final inspection. We were not without power during that additional half day required for this work. And I was not surprised by the additional time as I thought there original estimate was a little optimistic.

Working with Osterwisch Company was a great experience. Craig provided a thorough, honest estimate and was always available by phone for questions. Rick, the electrician, worked diligently to find ways to wire outlets in our old (1915) house without damaging any of the woodwork or plaster. The price was more than fair considering the difficulty of the job.

The company representative arrived timely, was knowledgeble and professional. The problem was eliminated and did not reoccure.

The HVAC guy (Dave) was prompt, friendly, very personable. He went about his work diligently, explained what he was doing and was great in every way. A+ job by him. The plumber arrived a little later, but not terribly late. He was not very friendly, and I just got the impression he didn't want to be there or work particularly hard. His attitude just was-I don't want to say rude-but not very customer oriented either. He got the leak stopped in the faucet, but the tub still doesn't drain as well as it should. My house is 80 years old, so I understand its not going to function as well as a new house, but he just said well, I snaked it to 20 ft. and considered that done. Then, the basement shower head was corroded and could not be removed. But he was only interested in going through the wall on the other side and tearing off the whole thing from behind, and stated he did not have time in the schedule to do that that day. (Which I can understand, if that had really been necessary) But I hired another plumber who was able to remove the plate from the front, cut a bigger hole in the tile and install a new faucet that way, without damaging any drywall. Pretty obvious this guy just wanted to get onto his next call as soon as possible so he could finish his day early, rather than truly look for the best solution for the customer.

We have no complaints about the service. It went smoothly and quickly and we are happy with the results.

In the process of renovating a two family home I purchased recently I found the water meter leaking and the main water line to the meter to be severely deteriorated. I contacted the city water authority first to repair the meter and when they arrived they informed me that the meter was not installed to code. They told me I could be fined if it was not corrected. The water authority replaced the meter and I contacted a number of plumbers for service but no one could come for a week or two. When I called Osterwisch they said they could have someone out in a day. The plumber arrived on time, was very professional, installed the new water line (which required a considerable amount of work because it was under floor joists that were at ground level) and replumbed my water meter to meet the city plumbing code. He did a great job and Osterwisch's quick response enabled me to stay on schedule with my renovation project.

Needed to get two leaks looked at. One was fixed with new seals on kitchen faucet. The other was harder to evaluate, and at first the technician was noncommital, since he was not familiar with our (imported) brand of faucet. However, he gave it serious thought, and was able to diagnose the problem without opening up the shower connections. He was thorough, and willing to educate as he went along, so I learned more about the plumbing in my house than I knew before. The rep. who handled the scheduling was also great to work with!

They were on time and did a professional excellent job.

We’ve been using them for 30 years. They are wonderful. We have an 1860 farmhouse and have ongoing projects all the time. The company that I had previously used for kitchen remodeling had refused to work with Osterwisch Co. Luckily they had my cell phone number, and they called and got all the work done. We also had some outside lighting done by them, and they did a perfect job. They did a lot of work. They were reasonably priced too, and provided good value for money.

They are absolutely perfect and they clean up when they are finished. I'm sure their prices are competitive. Their quality is excellent. They came right away when we needed them.

Very well. This is the second time I have used them. I had tried other companies in the past, but this company is the best I've used. They are prompt, skilled professional and priced competitively.

They were here for 3 days and did excellent work! They have been doing work for me for years. They have done various things for me including plumbing, HVAC, and electric work. They replaced the fan in my attic. Most recently they serviced my furnace.

I have found them to be very efficient. They are also a little pricey but in exchange you get great quality service. I will continue to use them in the future.

The experiences have been very good. Their prices are reasonable and they do the job right the first time. They are very timely and show up when they say they will.

I think they are a little on the high end, price wise. However, they are extremely punctual. I always get the same guy, and he is the nicest guy in the world! He went the extra mile for me.

The project went very well overall! The plumber was at the house promptly at 8am as promised. He assessed the fireplace, the gas line to tap into and quickly got to work. He covered the area around the fireplace to keep the mess down. There were some issues getting the line drilled into the basement (usual problems of an old house!) but he was able to get the line installed, the logs hooked and tested. Additionally, he confirmed that the furnace and gas store were functioning before he left since they are also gas powered. A great job cleaning up the basement and the living room, and I barely knew he was there! I would highly recommend Osterwich based on this interaction.

Due to cold weather a pipe burst in the back of my garage behind the dryer. By the time I discovered this disaster there was about an inch of water on the floor and no drain in the garage floor. There was water spewing out of the pipe all over the garage, into the back of the dryer, covering the pile of chair cushions to boxes of juice on the side of the garage. It was everywhere. The plumber showed up soon and he could hear it from the driveway. He wanted to turn off the water and I told him I didn't know of any other turn off point except in the crawl space. He insisted that there was another one somewhere and continued to search. Finally he turned the water off at the street and did a great job fixing the pipe. He did have to move a box off the dryer and some boxes, buckets, bottles of detergent etc. from between the washer and dryer to move the dryer and work behind it. I wish he had put all that back where he had got them (he did put the dryer back) because I have a bad back and am taking care of my terminally ill father which takes its own toll on my back. I also mentioned when I called that I found them on Angie's list, told the plumber I found them on Angie's list and did not get my Angie's list discount. But the work was excellent.

They did very good work. They are usually very prompt it doesn't take very long for them to get out to fix the problem. The service guys are pleasant. They leave the area neat and clean.
