Evan came for a service call to check out why my AC was not working. He was so thorough, explained everything he did and why he did it. He showed me where a serious problem (leak) with my inside unit had corroded the coils. The bottom line is that my entire system has to be replaced. I thought this might be the case, but he apologized for not being able to fix it and arranged for someone (Tim) to come talk to me about a replacement within the hour. My current unit is a top (circa 1994) model Lennox with more bells and whistles than I ever needed, and it was very difficult to maintain. Lots if disassembling of components and hand-washing some filters, replacing others. Tim came to the house, examined my existing system, then presented three options for replacement. I had a price point in mind, but did not discuss it with him. He then prepared a quote that included a 20% deduction and a rebate of the service call charge. Tim also spent time to explain the qualities of each option to me, so I felt like I was making an informed decision. His quote was within the price I was hoping to pay, and we scheduled an installation date. So even though the news was not good, the service call was excellent, and I would use them again and recommend them highly.
Description of Work: This was a service call to investigate/repair my air conditioning system. Evan was the service tech. He examined the heat pump, compressor, fuses, coolant levels, and the unit inside the house, removing panels, locating leaks and a lot of serious damage. He was polite, explaining each thing to me along the way. He was the best combination of professional and friendly.

Good process start to finish. It was quick and easy to set up the appointment for the estimate. The representative (Dan) was on time and did a good job explaining what he thought we needed, what choices were available and the related costs. I thought all of the recommendations and info made sense and did not feel like he was trying to push us into a system we did not need. The pricing was reasonable compared to our other quotes especially when you compared the service commitments and the warranty. Dan was also helpful in answering all of our questions as we worked through all of the quotes and made our decision. They were also able to get us on the install schedule very quickly. The installation went very well. The two installers were professional, easy to communicate with and the system was installed without any issues. They completely cleaned up the work site and explained the new system. I was a little unhappy with the performance of the new thermostat and they quickly scheduled a follow up appointment to replace it with a better unit. We were very pleased with everything.
Description of Work: Installed new central air conditioning system and added a new return vent.

A/C went out overnight. I called Willis first thing in morning, was told they would be able to do it same day, dispatcher was respectful, listened, professional, and accurate. Evan showed up at around 3pm, he was professional, knowledgeable and experienced. He diagnosed the problem quickly, showed me his findings and made me feel comfortable that the job would get done correctly and at a reasonable price. Evan had the proper equipment, training and did a great job. Overall the experience was great and I can take comfort in knowing that I have a heating and a/c company that I can call and will get the job done.

I was extremely pleased with the service that Nick provided. He was professional, thorough, and pleasant. We were notified a couple of days ago as a reminder, and even though we were given a 9-noon window, we were told that it would be closer to noon (allowing us freedom from having to be home the entire time waiting). We received an additional call this morning to let us know that the technician would be arriving shortly. This was a good value, and we will definitely be calling them again for any heating and cooling needs in the future!

I was directed to the customer service office for a detailed estimate. After a couple of phone calls and time on hold, I was told that the coil replacement was $1874. I told them that for that price I wanted a second opinion. Bottom line, the accredited HV/AC that I hired found three leaks in the external unit and NONE in the internal evaporator coil. One of the external leaks was clearly visible and was larger in diameter than a No2 pencil lead. The other two leaks were smaller and easily repaired. I needed to replace an valve on the internal (basement) unit that was improperly installed from the original installation. Total bill to repair was $1184 and didn't involve the internal coil - PERIOD. They may drive big yellow trucks that are easily seen but based on my experience, they're thieves in the night.
Description of Work: My combination a/c and heat pump went out and I called Willis. I had always used them, trusted them, and bought the unit from them. They sent a repairman to the house who was here for 30 minutes and said that the unit was completely out of refrigerant and further diagnosis would require the "leak team". Bill $95 for service call. The leak team had an appointment for12-4 the following Friday. (note the temp was 95') Since I was traveling, my neighbor agreed to let the service crew into the house. At 3PM, they called him to say they were running late and actuall arrive at 5:30PM. They ran their leak test and called to tell me that the internal evaporator coil (the one in the basement) was leaking and would be approx $1250-2500 to replace. Their position was that fixing the leak would not be worthwhile. Bill for this information was $134. See total above.

A/C died on Memorial Day; called Willis on the Tuesday after and they sent someone out the next day (Wednesday). The repairman seemed ready to fix it if it ccould be fixed; however, it was almost 19 years old and I knew that probably was not going to happen. The good news was the service call charge of $68 was applied to the cost of my new A/C. I had a new furnace installed by Willis in 12/10; the salesperson who sold us the furnace also did all the measurements for the A/C at the time so that helped us get ahead of the game. The salesperson called me the same day as the service and we had an appointment set up for the next week. It was a long week because the temps were in the upper 90's, but Willis arrived on time the day of installation and we were up and running by early afternoon. Good job on both the furnace and A/C. I've used Willis in the past and will use them again if need be.

I originally scheduled an AC tuneup at the beginning of May. I scheduled it 5 weeks ahead of time. They called me the day before and said that I had to re-schedule, because they had people with no AC that they had to repair/replace. That didn't make me happy, but I rescheduled for the first week of June, their earliest appointment. My AC went out before my new appt, so I called to get them to come out to repair it and was told to keep my original appointment, which was in 3 days. So, I called my usual company, and they were here in under an hour. Problem solved. I wanted to try their service, but I guess you should stick with the company that is always there for you. I will not call Willis again.

Their name indicates that they try to fix quickly. I have used their services three years in a row. I didn’t get any other estimates when I had them install a furnace. I got 3 or 4 estimates on the air conditioning. They were probably in the middle, but I know that they did an excellent job. My house was cleaner than it was when they came in. They vacuumed the house. It was a Bryant system and the total price was $4850. It was a much more expensive furnace, but it was much more efficient and I paid the extra $1500 because it came with the $1500 tax credit. So, it may seem like a high priced furnace, but it was of a lower price because of the tax credit. I kind of got the top-end furnace. They are just incredible. If they go in and out 20 times, they take their little booties off and put them on every time. I had a lot of workmen when we added about 2000 square feet and remodeled the entire first floor of our house. They always vacuumed up and they put runners all the way through my house including downstairs and wore their booties on top of that. They also vacuumed up when they were done. They have done so much for me. The year we remodeled, they moved the air conditioning unit from place to place so that we had air conditioning. We get the tune-up done every six months. I always got incredible service from them. I would use their services in the future too. I do have a contract with them every year where they come and do the tune-up. I am lucky that I found them.
Description of Work: Willis One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning did some major HVAC work when we added on to our house. Then the following year, they put in all new air conditioning system. This year, they put in a new furnace for us.

The technicians from Willis Heating & Air Conditioning Company had to come out four days in a row once. I have power problems in my house so they had to repeatedly come out to trouble shoot some problems. They also send people after hours. Eventually they found the problem and fixed it. However, it took them several attempts. Their price was good. They were responsive. There were times when it seemed like they wanted to give up because they were not able to diagnose the problem. However, they kept coming back when I pressurized them. They were here when they said they would be here. I think that they should have solved the problem sooner that they actually did. I have a service contract with them so I would use them again in the future.

Tech came out to service AC as part of my 2 year, tune-up plan. The tune-up on these contracts are hard to schedule quickly, so I had to schedule this back in the winter. The tech that came out did the tune-up, I am assuming, but then told us about things he found wrong with the furnace. He said there was a small leak in the gas line, there was condensation evidence that would eventually short out our fan motor, and something else that needed attention. The cost would be $1100+, and wanted to either do it that day or come back soon to do it. He also stated that our system was 11 years old, and we should probably think about replacing it with a new furnace and AC as well so all would be more efficient. We are older, and are very skeptical, so we said no. Besides, we have a whole house mechanical and appliance insurance policy that we renew every year. If something were to fail, that is who we would call. Lo and behold, a couple weeks later, the furnace blower would not work. I called the insurance company and they sent a guy out. He found a loose wire. Connected back and it worked like a champ. Loose wire, just bad luck or something else? After inspecting the entire system, he advised the furnace was in tip top shape. No gas leak, no problem looming over the fan. No other problems. Our furnace is a Trane, 90% energy efficient - that is why we bought it. I sure was glad none of that stuff was true. There are lots of things like this going on. I'm not saying the company is doing something bad, or even that the tech was trying to deliberately deceive us. I see the good rating Willis has on this list, but I have heard other things from other people that mirror our experience. Just be mindful. Chris Hansen might be in our neighborhood one day.

They did a good job. They told me what they were going to do. They were very specific. They answered all my questions. They informed me about what this particular air conditioner would do and how efficient it was going to be. They put it in and everything went very well. They did everything they said they were going to do. So far, I have been happy with the air conditioner. They have always done a good job by not just selling the system, but they give you a lot of information. They are reasonably priced as well. I got a better price because I am already their customer. I would use their services in the future too.

After asking 6 different companies to bid, I settled on Willis as their sales guy, Joe, seemed to behave and respond the most professionally out of all of them, answering all my 'awkward' questions and generally quelling the various concerns I had about swapping out our 30+ year old boiler. On both days of the actual demo & install the team Willis sent (Shawn & Brad) were a credit to their company. They covered their access route with floor-saving mats and acted in a most respectful, efficient and friendly manner at every turn, again answering all the questions I had. The install looks very tidy indeed and whilst it has been too warm to test the system working at its full winter potential they had no problems in carefully guiding me throught the operating procedures and explaining the little tweaks I could make. Since moving into this house we have been almost exclusively HVAC customers of Apollo but their price for this job was over $3000 higher than Willis. Given the exemplorary service we were given on this occasion I do believe our alliegance has shifted and I can't think of any reason not to recommend them to others looking for similar installs.

Willis never committed to a time range for the call, as a result I ended up waiting most of the day for the technician to show up. When the tech looked at the thermostat he agreed that the thermostat was probably having issues. That's when the tech gave me what I consider to be a ridiculous story that even though the part was supposedly in warranty that the part would cost me over $200 for "paper-work" and "parts return fees". My first reaction was to tell the guy to take a hike, but I wanted the thermostat addressed and I didn't have time to spend another day on this with another vendor. My bottom line is if a part is supposed to be in warranty, then it should be in warranty. I've never had any other vendor pull something like this on me. Inventing "fees" after the fact is a decpetive business practice, in my opinion. If the representative tells me on the phone that it's in warranty then they should stand behind their words and back that warranty. I also have all the original paperwork that clearly states the warranty terms. I will never do business with Willis again. I strongly recommend that anyone who does business with them get very clear documentation in advance as to any warranties, and any possible "fees" they may feel justified in charging should warranty work need to be done.
Description of Work: I had purchased a Trane furnace and AC from Willis in 2007. Willis did the install work in 2001 and in general I felt they did a good job. As part of the furnace instal they put in a new Trane brand programmable thermostat. Recently we were having issues with the thermostat (it was locking up), and felt that the thermostat was failing. I called Willis to have them come out. The person on the phone told me that the thermostat was in-warranty for parts, but not for service. I felt that if the part was covered by warranty I was OK with paying for a service call to replace it.
