They did fine work. I have a deal where they check up on my unit in the Spring and Fall. They contact me before coming out to make sure they are able to come. I have been very satisfied. I have been using them for about 2-3 years. Their plan saves me quite a bit of money. If something does go wrong, the plan has discounts built into it. Each time, it is a new technician and I have never had any issues. I have not had any problems with their service.

I called on Tuesday and was able to schedule an appointment for Thursday to have an annual Furnace tune up. The office called me a couple of hours before my scheduled appointment to see if they could come earlier as there was a person available. That actually worked out better for me. He was at my home within an hour of the call. The person was very professional - completed the tune up (no problems with the furnace!). He also checked the humidifier - which I told him I didn't think was working as it should have been last year. He found water deposits in the line and cleaned the line. Advised me about the best type of filter to use for my furnace. Everything was cleaned up when he left. Only problem I had was with the company itself. I had been sent a coupon for $59 for a Furnace tune up and another one for $49. Of course I used the $49 coupon. At one time I participated in their program to have the A/C and Furnace tuned up annually. The last renewal from them was for $179 (which I did not take). I'm finding that expensive - especially since they send out coupons (or advertise specials in other mailings) for a better deal.

When we called initially the calls get routed to their service center in Arizona. They had my wife on hold for 20 minutes just to setup an appointment. (: We had been customers with them before, and we have always gotten excellent service. They fixed the furnace issue that Duke Energy had red tagged in error thinking there was a bad o2 sensor, however there is no such thing on our furnace. I gave an A rating all across the board because I didn't know where to dock them for the initial bad customer call. They are a very good company, and I would recommend them highly.

The salesman, James was extremely professional, knowledgeable, helpful and easy to deal with. The technician who came out after we contracted with the company was extremely thorough in examining our current compressors. He verified what was told to us by a different company in what was wrong with the compressors. He actually did a more complete check of the compressor than we had paid for by the original person who discovered that our compressors were losing freon. The installers, Brian and Steve, were wonderful! They were prompt, courteous, neat beyond belief, respectful, etc. I absolutely hate having extensive work done in our home because of the interruption of daily routines and the mess that is usually left behind. They did not interrupt our day at all. They worked continuously, we hardly new they were in our home, and the job took nearly 7 hours. There was not a spec of dirt or dust left by them inside or outside of our home. I would recommend Willis One Hour Heating and Air without any reservation whatsoever!!

The call went great. I got a call 30 minutes ahead of time just like I requested so I could meet the technician at my home. He arrived on time and looked very professional. He began with my oil furnace, cleaned and checked the entire unit, he even replaced the oil filter and nozzle to make sure that the oil was getting to my furnace the way it was supposed to. Then he went outside to work on my heat pump. He cleaned out all the leaves that had fallen in between the fins and made sure that everything wa working as it should be. Before he left he made sure that my heating and cooling both worked the way they were supposed to and answered all of my questions.

This was such a joke. I called and scheduled the summer tune-up, as advertised in Angie's List coupons, for 69.99. I was looking for someone to come in, clean up our unit and see how it is running. If I were to take my car in for a tune-up, I would expect work to be done to make sure my car was in top running condition. For 69.99, you have a tech come to your house and do nothing but try to up-sell you on the yearly maintenance package. First conversion and he was pushing the "club membership" with a booklet and all. i said we could talk about it later, lets just have the tune-up completed. He took one look and said it was dirty, and that for an additional $200 he could take the blower wheel out, run it through my sink and put it back in. He then told me that the single capacitor could go out at some point and for another $200 he could replace it. He did nothing more, closed the door and said he was now going to move outside. I stopped him at that point and said I was done with the apt, was not going to pay, and asked him to leave. No work was being done, he was trying to sell me a package the entire time, and why would I pay for that? Pay to have a salesman come and try to sell me service I don't need. Our air conditioner runs well, we just wanted a little clean up and to test all connections, etc. On a side note, the tech was not professional at all. He got out of his van and proceeded to put on his pants, belt, and walked around my house with his zipper down. Looked a mess, not professional to say the least.

I've been a customer of Willis' for sixteen years and I ended the relationship today. I didn't want to but they left me no other choice. For sixteen years and in three homes, they have provided me with regular heating and AC tuneups. But ever since they were sold (seems like it was a few years ago now) they have been slipping. The past couple of years the office staff have regressed. I don't know if they outsourced the office or what happened, but as a customer let me tell you that whatever you did, it resulted in bad customer service that was noted and tolerated out of misguided loyalty on my part for quite some time. Today was the last straw. For the third year in a row, they messed up the details on my contract. Every year for the past three years, they confuse the termination date of my service contract. Every time they confused it, thankfully I had the paperwork to back up the fact that they were wrong. I never thought they were trying to cheat me out of visits (maybe I should have), I just chalked it up to poor office staff and recordkeeping. Today I had an appointment scheduled for an A/C tuneup. I took half a day off of work to be home to let the technician in. When the tech was here in the winter to do the heating tuneup, he told me that I had one more visit remaining on my contract. When I made the AC tuneup appointment, the office staff did not tell me that my contract was up. The technician arrived and told me that my contract had expired (although he said it didn't expire until June 30--?????). He said today's visit would be $89. I told him that I believed I had another visit on my contract. He called the office and they confirmed my contract expired (but didn't expire until the end of the month, whatever that means). I could not find the last technician's paperwork so I told the tech to renew me. At that time he told me that I could not pay for the service annually any more, but that I had to give them a credit card or checking account number in order to continue. They would not let me write them a check for an annual contract. He told me that "corporate" required it to be done this way from now on. Well after three years of them screwing up my contract, I'm not about to give them free access to my credit cards or checking account. So I reluctantly parted ways with them. Their technicians are top-notch and I haven't had a bad one in all the years I've used them. They are professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Let me be clear that I'm not unhappy with their technicians at all. I haven't shopped around for this type of service in years so I cannot comment on whether their pricing is reasonable or not. I'm still unsure whether my contract was up this time or not. Unfortunately, in my move to my new home I misplaced my Willis files. Regardless, if they believed my contract had expired, they should have told me this on the telephone when I called to schedule the appointment. Their failure to do so, coupled with repeated problems in the past with contract expiration confusion (which, after researching it, they admitted was their mistake the previous times). I think I have been more than reasonable with them but no more. I find it interesting that after I send the technician on his way today, no one from the office bothered to call me to talk to me. I am left with the overwhelming impression that they don't care about their customers. What a shame. This used to be a great company and my impression is that the new ownership ruined it.

Willis installed our heat pump a few years ago. We had purchased the unit through The Home Depot and Willis was the installer provided by them. I previously had used Willis to service my old heat-pump that had numerous problems that they never could troubleshoot. I would not have purchased the heatpump from Home Depot if I had known that Willis was involved. I have continued to have Willis do routine service due to the warrantee. This past year, I agreed to their 1.5 year service contract. I had 2 routine service calls after that, the most recent in the late winter. My heatpump failed to cool a few days prior to my call to Willis. When I called the customer service person said that there would be a $180 charge for the call and a 15 % discount if any parts were needed. They could not give me a timeframe for the call and they were not pleasant to say the least. Since I had a service contract with them, I found that to be outrageous, especially since it had only been about a month since they were here and found the heatpump to be in good working order. I had the sense that they had done something to the unit to cause it to fail. I then joined Angie's List and found another provider who arrived within 2 hours. They found the problem and fixed it immediatelly. Shortly after, I called to cancel my service contract with Willis. It was too complicated to jump through all the hoops so I decided to just write them off and never use them again. Surprisingly (not), their customer service called and wanted to be if assistance. Once I tried to cancel with them, they finally made an effort to help me out.

They are great and quick to respond. The service technician I always have (east side of town) is great and always super professional. He found serious problems, and in my opinion, went above regular service levels - explaining my options and what I could pick from with cost and honest appraisal of what was of value and what was not. I have been very happy with their service for about 10 years.

The service techs are on site 4-10 times a year every experience with them is positive
Description of Work: Willis Heating and Air services all of our furnaces and AC units both in the spring and in the fall. In addition they provide support services (repair/maintenance) on an as needed basis. From the office personal (Jenny) to the service techs to the managers the company is outstanding. They have customer service down to a science. In the many years that I have used them I have never had a reason to complain about anything they have done for us. They have happily and promptly sent technicians to our site to quickly resolve both heating and cooling issues for us. They have installed both furnaces and AC units in several of our buildings. They have went out of there way to help us redesign a cooling method for our condensers attached to our walk in refrigerator and freezer. The service techs have even helped us figure ways to temporarily fix things that allow us to operate while we raise funds to replace old and outdated units. The company (from my standpoint) is very well run and I would recommend them to anyone.

I am very disappointed with Willis One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning. I bought a new furnace unit back in November and I started experiencing problems last week with the heating temperature. Thinking that the furnace was in warranty, I called these guys again to make the proper repairs/adjustments. To my surprise, when we called we were told that the visit was going to cost us money because it might not be related to the furnace we just installed a couple of months ago. We agreed to the visit in foolish hopes that you were going to do it as part of the warranty. The person who came told us that the problem was the thermostat and that was not related to the furnace (there goes $90-some). Not only did he charge for the visit, but he took advantage of my wife by "selling" her into a "new" thermostat for $198. When I got home, I saw the box that they left at my kitchen and the "new" unit box was all banged up as it was a used thermostat or at least a re-furbished one. Building in anger, I went to the internet and searched for the price of the thermostat and surprise! the cost is only $61. I would never again will recommend Willis One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning and will do whatever I can trough Social Media to deter potential clients away. You have robbed my family and should be ashamed for such delinquent practices.

UPDATE on 3/5/2013: Willis sent out a service rep to install the pressure switch about four weeks ago. They did this for free, which was beyond my expectation. It turned out that the problem was far more complicated than just a pressure switch. To my complete surprise, Willis went above and beyond my expectations and rerouted my vent flue without charging me anything for it. While I was experiencing my furnace problems I thought that there is nothing that Willis could do to get me back as a customer. Now I don't think that I would use anyone else. I cannot imagine any other company standing behind their work to the extent that Willis did. I should also mention that every time a Willis technician has come by, they have always been personable and exceptionally professional. (copied and pasted from end of statement) As you can see from the description of the services performed, this is not going well. My furnace is still not working after four visits and $770 in repair charges. Understandably, I am reluctant to commit to spending another $297 with this same vendor. My objective in taking the time to post my experience with Willis is two-fold: (1) I want other consumers in the area to be aware of my experience so that hopefully they can either avoid Willis altogether or that Willis will change its practices to prevent a similar occurrence; and (2) to put Willis on notice regarding my experience and level of concern and dissatisfaction. I hope that Willis will take the appropriate actions to address my concerns. I will post a follow-up regarding action from Willis, if any, as a result of my post. UPDATE on 2/1/2013: I received a call from a Customer Service Manager within 24 hours of this post. I appreciate the responsiveness. Willis has offered to refund the $75 diagnostic fee and to send out a technician to install the pressure switch and get the problem resolved. Description of Work: UPDATE on 2/4/2014: Technician was wrong and the same problem remains. This has been going on for more than one year now. Thank you Willis for two winters of space heaters and having to wear a hat in my home. UPDATE on 1/31/2014: Change overall rating back to an 'A'. Technician came out timely, was professional, and diagnosed the problem as a dirty filter. In sum, the problem does not appear to have anything to do with the service provided last year. Thank you Wilis for a job well-done. UPDATE on 1/24/2014: Less than one year after the five previous service calls the same indicator light is coming on again. I called and they were willing to send a technician out today. Will update next week after technician visit and diagnosis. Work performed: "checked furnace - discovered inducer failing not creating enough vacume for pressure swith. collected $100 deposit [errors in original]. Customer note: repair was not completed because technician did not have part on truck and it would have to be ordered. Additional Job Notes: "Pressure switch does not close everytime. Getting an error code 3 on system. Checked pressures on each side of the switch and reading 1.8" on inducer side and .2" wc on combustion box side. Customer wants to wait to order switch. Cost: $75 diagnostic fee. Customer note: I was still charged the $75 diagnostic fee despite the fact that the problem with the system, as indicated by the system board, was the same as when I called on November 6, 2012. Please also note that the diagnosis on this fourth visit in approximately a two-month period is exactly the same as the first time that I called. Finally, the repair could not be done that day because, once again, the technician did not have the part on his vehicle. Quoted rate for installation of the pressure switch is $297. This would bring the total to $1,067.

Work was performed satisfactorily by Mike in a very professional manner. He explained what he'd be doing, went about his work efficiently, and then discussed the "state of our furnace" afterward (including some things to think about for the future, as our furnace is 22 years old). Also, Mike was running ahead of schedule, and we received a call from the dispatcher, asking whether we would prefer our original time slot or would like to have him come earlier. Moving to the earlier slot actually worked better for us, so having that choice was a nice bonus.
Description of Work: Pre-winter tune-up of furnace (plus replacement of our furnace's water panel). This was one visit of a three-visit package (winter, summer, winter), so amount spent represents one-third of package price plus cost of water panel.

Unlike previous times, we weren't flooded with multiple phone calls before the appointment which I found refreshing. I don't mind a call the day before or the day of the appointment as a reminder but the previous system of robo calls even after I had scheduled an appointment was annoying. They added the One Hour to their company name but have backed away from that one hour and give you a several hour time window for the technician to arrive. I don't object to a 3-4 hour window but I think having the one hour in their name is misleading to the consumer. The technician noted a clogged outflow tube from our humidifier and cleaned it out after not having a new tube in stock on his truck. It is working well 2 weeks after he performed the declogging. No other problems were found. We renewed our annual contract at this visit.

It was a good experience overall. I was a bit disappointed about how far out they had to schedule us. I guess it is the busy time of year for this sort of thing, but we had to wait almost two weeks from call to service. The tech was extremely friendly and professional. I feel he did a great job with the inspection. He did recommend a new compressor for the AC unit, but other than that things looked good and no additional work was required.
Description of Work: We got a coupon in the mail for a $59 furnace tune up from Willis. The tech showed up and did a full inspection of the furnace as well as the AC unit and blower.

The employees are friendly, courteous but they blew the diagnosis. The service call $800 for a new gas valve the actual cost is around $350 leads one to question the repair of an old furnace. They would rather sell new. They suggest additional items each time they visit. I sent a letter to them a week ago and have had no response from them. They did replace my AC unit several years ago and I felt they did a good job on that.
Description of Work: The diagnosis of my old furnace was the gas valve wasn't staying open, needed new valve and the standard fee was $796. The furnace was 25+ years old and the cost of a new one was around $3,000, decided to replace the furnace. New furnace was installed, when the first cold weather came it seemed to work ok. The next cold spell it didn't act right, took a long time to warm the house up. First serviceman found it working ok but the more he checked it did flame out on him and he felt the output temperature wasn't high enough. The next day another serviceman was sent out when I told them it still wasn't working properly. He determined the gas valve wasn't staying open and decided it needed a new valve. At some point he check the input gas pressure and found after the furnace started heating the pressure would drop too low to keep the burners operating. My gas water heater and gas dryer appeared to be ok. Duke was called late in the afternoon and didn't arrive for several hours. He determined there was a gas supply problem at the street. He turned off the gas which left us no heat or hot water since it was too late to dig since Willis was late in solving the problem. Duke found the gas line plugged at the street, it would allow enough pressure to build up but with the high demand of the furnace it would drop too low. It is my opinion I replaced the furnace and didn't have too. Willis didn't properly analyze the old furnace and the first visit on the new furnace.

I had a mailer from the company advertising a reduced price for a new furnace. Since I was already contemplating purchasing a new furnace and air conditioner combination, I asked for a company representative to come over and evaluate my heating and cooling needs. I found out that the model furnace advertised in the mailer was too small for my heating needs, so I was a bit concerned that it may have been a ploy. But the representative gave me a similar discount for the model that I did purchase. He was very knowledgeable and provided me two options. The first was to replace the furnace and air conditioner with models that were comparable to my current system, but indicated that these just met the minimum heating and air conditioning needs requirementsfor my house. He also provided me the option of increasing the heating and cooling capacity with the next size models, which had a couple of extra benefits. I appreciated that he did not pressure me to buy the more expensive models and let me make my own decision after carefully considering the benefits versus the cost. On the day of the service my spouse said the workmen showed up on time and got right to work. I was out at the time they arrived but came home afterwards to a flurry of work. One workman was working installing the air conitioner, two workmen were in the cellar about to install the extra ducts. Another one was pulling out the new furnace from the truck. They were very personable, professional, and efficient. I am very happy with the job they did. They carted the old furnace and air conditoner away and I did not have anything to clean up anything after them.
Description of Work: Willlis replaced the furnace and air conditioner in my house. This included constructing an additional cold air duct in the cellar to the furnace and a duct and vent to the exterior of the house.
