Ohio Valley Pure Water

MIke is always responsive to questions and promptly returns phone calls. He has also made time to return and check on the performance of the systems we've had installed. Service is so much more timely and personable than the larger water companies that are quick to sell but aren't very good about follow-up.

Ohio Valley Pure Water installed and has been servicing our water filtration system for several years. We are always happy with the job that they do. They are friendly and they always contact us by phone or by USPS to remind us of our annual service requirements. We have never had an issues with our total house water filter or our filtered drinking water. We would definitely recommend Ohio Valley Pure Water!

Great experience started on comprehensive phone conversation with Mike, and Greg (the installer) was top-notch! Had to route into the main water line, which required some additional 3/4" copper and fittings, but the work was flawless. Greg also came up with a nice solution for the salt tank location due to a tight fit around the furnace and water heater. Overall, a company who truly deserves their lofty rating. Mike from OVPW carefully analyzed the situation, also sent out his main installer for another look, and I am especially grateful for his patience while we figured out the Rube-Goldberg-like plumbing problems in the basement. He could easily have said "it won't work here--sorry--bye bye". But he stuck with it until I found a plumber who could solve it (w/ Mike giving telephone help to 3 contractors/plumbers!). The bill was less than HALF of what others had quoted (plus an Angie's List discount), for an RO undersink system, whole-house charcoal filter, and a water softener. I now have great drinking water, and feel good about the bath water. Mike and team, thank you so much for your kindness and patience. You solved my most frustrating problem in the midst of a stressful move. Grateful!

My wife and I just moved from Cincinnati to Springboro, Ohio. Mike removed our old rental system from our home in Cincinnati and installed a new reverse osmosis (RO) system we purchased in Springboro, Ohio. We have always received EXCEPTIONAL service from Mike and his crew and have never had the slightest bit of difficulty reaching him when necessary, even later in the evening (I occasionally work second shift). Recently, Mike spent a great deal of time with us over the phone providing details on how to test our water's hardness in our new home prior to his installing the new RO system. He even went so far as to teach us some of the "do's and don'ts" of a water softening system, despite our water softener not being a Ohio Valley Pure Water unit. When Mike came to install our new RO unit this morning, he pointed out a potentially disastrous mistake made by a plumber who recently installed a pressure-reducing valve (PRV) in our home. The PRV was installed in-between our water softener and our tankless water heater. Mike tested the water pressure from the main line going into the water softener, and the reading came back at 87 PSI, much higher than the recommended level (60-65 PSI). In his experience, this could result in rupture of a membrane in the water softener and a subsequent "release" of the ion exchange resin into the water heater, potentially destroying the water heater. This apparently had occurred with one of his clients previously. We contacted the plumber who is to return tomorrow to remedy the issue. Had this not been caught, we might be looking at a large replacement bill. Mike's experience and expertise are readily apparent, and he is a pleasure to work with. My wife and I have had great service with Ohio Valley Pure Water for a number of years now, and we plan on sticking with them for the foreseeable future! Thanks Mike. Jeff & Jen

July 2015, I wake to water damage in my basement caused by Ohio Valley's water softening system. It looked as if the small carbon filter exploded water in my laundry room. The force of the water literally caused the paint on the walls to sagg!! I obviously filed a claim with my insurance company. Since that time, my insurance company has contacted Ohio Valley to accept liability. However, they have not responded to my insurance rep after multiple attempts. Yesterday, I found out that my insurance company will now send the claim to Collections in hopes of Ohio Valley responding. Up until this incident, I would have recommended Ohio Valley. But after this experience, I would caution anyone considering installing a water softener system. According to the Ohio Valley rep, these systems cause water damage at least once or twice or year. Unfortunately last year, I was one of the unlucky ones, and NINE months later the issue still hasnt been resolved!! Shame on Ohio Valley Pure Water.

The owner of the company was very responsive and professionally answered all questions. The installer arrived promptly, performed install, answered all my questions, and did a solid job. I would recommend using this company to anyone needed a water softener replacement. Our faucet fixtures have not locked up due to hard water after install (10 months so far). Other companies quoted charged much more and the equipment seems to be good quality. Hopefully we can get at least 10 years out of this water softener.

They called before coming and arrived on time,got right to work and explained all steps. Everything was done in a timely and professional manner. When he was done and cleaned up he made sure that I had no questions. We love the new system,highly recommendthem!

Very responsive and easy to work with. After installation, I felt like the instructions/discussion about the new unit was a little hurried, but all my questions were answered. it is working well.

Mike, OVPW owner, was very responsive and were able to schedule and complete installation much quicker than anticipated. Installation technician communicated delays well, but left debris behind in multiple work areas. Equipment is working well and we are enjoying benefits from systems installed.

Great price and even better customer service. When we purchased the deal off of Angie's list, they were out in less than a week to do the install. They were in and out fairly quick. But the better part of this selection has been the customer service. I have called several times with random questions, and Michael has always been very diligent about answering or calling right back. When I thought I had an issue with my system, Michael was out the same day to check it. It was not an issue with my system (it ended up being my water regulator on the other side of my basement), but Michael still arranged to have it fixed that same week. They show a lot of pride and class in their business as well as customer empathy.

Installer listened to my very specific requests for locating reverse osmosis system under the kitchen sink and in all ways was very professional. He worked neatly, quickly, and was careful to explain care/maintenance of the systems installed. He offered an upgraded faucet without pressure to choose it. It was a totally positive situation; no hard sales on the initial contact and great follow through of exactly what was outlined in our agreement.

Michael was a pleasure to work with from initial contact through installation and problem followup. Highly recommended. Be sure to ask about extra cost for ice maker hookup if you get the undersink RO if you want that. Apparently many people don't, but we use a lot of ice and water from the fridge dispenser, so we wanted it. i had seen a blurb in a previous review and asked. If you get the undersink RO and would not be happy with a chrome fixture, be sure to ask about cost for upgraded faucet, or buy your own prior to installation so they can install what you want. A good idea to ask them to bring samples of what they have when they give you an estimate. Greg the installer was also a pleasure to work with. He alerted us to the possible upgrade RO faucet but he didn't have one on his truck to show us. Michael brought one out right away. We did opt for the nickel finish over the standard chrome. Greg worked through a difficult ice maker hookup because access was very tight. Several weeks after the installation, the soft water feel was gone. Michael responded promptly to this. After a few minutes on the phone to go over several items with me, he decided to come out, then fixed the float that was detached and not allowing the softener to regenerate. Very happy with this company.

These guys are the real deal. Fantastic deal. Very responsive pre-sales. All questions answered. The installation was scheduled. The installer showed up on time and did his thing. He was good with letting me know when it was time to turn off the water and for how long. We looked and decided where everything should go. And he got right to it. He checked with me on where I wanted the RO water sink outlet. He discovered that the water pressure relieve valve on the incoming water line was not working, and the water pressure was way too high, and adjusting the pressure had no effect. Since it was higher than the required rating or the RO filter, I had him replace it. That was an additional cost, but necessary. So no problem at all. In fact, Mike had cautioned me that they find that a lot. I also knew beforehand and agreed to pay the additional cost to run the RO water to my refrigerator for through-the-door water, and for the ice maker. When complete, the installer demonstrated everything, gave me a few instructions to prep the RO filter, left me the documentation, cleaned up, and was out the door with everything working. Everything has been working great every since. I can't say enough good things about OVPW. Pro, knowledgeable, efficient. And I'm looking forward to them servicing and replacing filters when necessary. They track that need and contact you with it's time for filter replacement.

Mike called the same day I left message and came out the very next morning to check it out. He was able to seal the leak and discover the probable cause - high water pressure. He showed me the regulator and how it should work (and obviously was shot). This was near our main water line. He has someone that will come out to fix it soon and I was thankful for his promptness, and fixing the seal without cost. I will be paying for the regulator replacement, of course, but reasonably priced. Great service to customers, not just concerned about the sale out the door, but in keeping customers happy and satisfied. I highly recommend Ohio Valley Pure Water to anyone who needs a water softener or related services!!

The tank for the RO system wouldn't fit under our sink, so they mounted it in the basement just below the sink without any cost for that. It was great service, and the price for all of the work was unmatched. Looking forward to using Ohio Valley Pure Water to replace our filters each year, and for any future water services.
