Ohio Valley Pure Water

Mike came to install on Friday, February 22nd even though we had freezing rain the night before. I was prepared to have him not come out in this weather but luckily the weather held off to where driving was not too risky. The install process went very quick and within 2 hours I had all the 3 services installed. Mike cleaned up everything after the service was done. He did have a helping hand with him. I was able to go to work the same day as he was done by 10 am. I look forward working with his company for many years to come and I sincerely hope someday his son takes over so that this great company continues on. We need more companies like Mike's company because there was no sales pressure whatsoever and that is one thing I cannot stand when somebody tells me that only for today I can offer you XYZ for a discount. Tomorrow the price goes up. You will not have to worry about anything like that when you work with Mike. Three Cheers with my fresh clean water to Mike and his team!

We contacted Mike with Ohio Valley to discuss options in water filtration. He was very polite and knowledgable. We scheduled a time for installation. He was very prompt and gave us a call to let us know he was on schedule. Installation went smoothly and Mike answered all our questions. We were very pleased with the service and more importantly, we love the filtration system. Our water is now crystal clear and taste/odor free. I would highly recommend this company and this system to anyone, and already have!

We are very pleased. In the past several years my husband and I have become particular about the quality of the food we eat and the water we drink--especially when we wanted to start our own family. I didn't like the idea of ingesting fluoride--it's fine topically in my toothpaste, but do I need to drink it or boil my pasta in it? And then there's the chlorination. Plus our tap water just tasted plain awful. Even my Mom and Dad finally admitted the water tasted bad (made horrible-tasting coffee) once I started having water delivered. That's right, we had water delivered for 2 years to avoid the atrociousness of our tap water. We used a service that had re-usable glass bottles to avoid plastic, and it was okay, but it was expensive, and it was a hassle. We had to estimate how much water we'd need between deliveries, and keep these big bottles of water stored wherever we could find space. Finally, we decided to look into other options. At first we were going to do the water softener, the carbon filter, AND the Reverse Osmosis system, but my husband ultimately talked me into just starting with the Reverse Osmosis filter since the water hardness in our area is too awful--it's not great, but it's not unbearable. We contacted Ohio Valley Pure Water through their website. The website is clear and easy to understand. They don't make you guess how much things will cost, and Mike was prompt to contact us regarding our inquiry. He came to our house and answered our questions thoroughly--and we had one question after another. Mike did a great job showing us the ins and outs of it all, and really seemed to know his stuff. We thought about our options, had a few questions, called Mike, got answers, and then we scheduled our appointment. We didn't really have to think about who we were going to use. I'd spent a lot of time researching and comparing prices, and the value was obvious. The great reviews on Angie's List only helped bolster our confidence. Mike showed up exactly as scheduled, and was very courteous. He got straight to work, and next thing I knew were were wrapping things up, and he was on his way. We are very happy with the Reverse Osmosis system so far, and we will be happy to deal with Mike and his family as we do the necessary maintenance throughout the years.

They came out before Christmas, obviously the slow time of the year. After the review of their product, did a more research to decide what we wanted installed. Decided on the water softner, whole house chlorine filter, and the chemical resin system. The installation took around an hour for everything. They did not transfer the salt from the old system to the new, which they said up front that they would not do. The system has worked very well since installed.

For the first two months, everything was great. I even wrote an A review for Ohio Valley Pure Water. Then one evening, I remove the lid from the brine tank to see if I needed to add salt, and the water level was 75% of the brine tank. I called Mike from OVPW and he informs he'll come out and look at it, that it's probably just an issue with the float. This happened on March 1st of this year. Mike came out that night, which is why I still have them at an A for Punctuality, claimed he fixed it, and that the water level would gradually go down over time, but should not rise. Five days later, on March 6th, I check the brine tank to see if the water level has decreased and it's far worse. It's actually to the spout. I contact Mike again, he admits this should not happen and there is probably an issue. Up to this point, OVPW has been great. They responded quickly and attempted to fix the problem. Unfortunately, it's all downhill from here. Quick backstory, my water main is on one side of my house and the clean-out is one the other. This setup made Mike from OVPW uncomfortable with installation and he put me in contact with a plumber. So OVPW did not install the water softener. Mike from OVPW tells me I need to contact Mike Furniss, who's out in California, and who I can only guess is the water softener's tech support. First off, why am I the one that has to contact tech support? I'm not a water softener tech. Anyways, Mike Furniss never returns my call. Instead he calls Mike from OVPW back and tells him that he would like to speak to Rodney, who was the plumber that installed the softener. Well Rodney is a single man team and has been busy. My inclination is why would someone who is a water softener technician, like Mike from OVPW is, need the plumber to come check if there is a problem with the water softener? The water softener gets water from the main, I see it in the brine tank. The softener itself is not recharging and draining the brine tank which is clearly a problem with the softener. If it was installed incorrectly, shouldn't a water softener technician be able to spot the issue. How is that the plumber's responsibility? So essentially, for the past 3 weeks, Mike from OVPW has been giving me the run around on getting this fixed. I contact Mike, he says he'll contact Mike Furniss and "will stay on this." Unfortunately, OVPW's definition of "stay on this" is not giving updates and obviously playing the run-around blame game pointing the finger to Rodney the plumber. I don't blame Rodney. Rodney is an excellent plumber. I've actually used him for other jobs even during this fiasco. I blame the person who sold me and who is the tech of this awful product sold to me. If someone sells, claims to be an expert, then that person should be able to come to my house, fix my water softener, or at least have a conversation with tech support on-site to fix the water softener. I should not have to wait weeks in the dark for something I paid over 1k for and 400 bucks to install. This is ridiculous. OVPW is good at selling to you how awesome they are. How much better they are than their competition who is a national brand. How they're Angie's List rated, etc...But that's not how to tell the value someone has in their work or their product. The value is shown when something goes wrong. How does that person respond to a situation where they're obviously in the wrong and need to repair the breach with the customer. This where OVPW fails and they fail drastically. I'm now at the point I want my money back and for them to remove this awful product OVPW obviously can't stand behind.

Very well. Knowledgeable personnel, very responsive (called on Wednesday, install on Friday), reasonable pricing.

We have recently re-located from Indianapolis to the Cincinnati area. My husband and I were used to having a water softener and also an RO system for drinking water. Our new home did not have these items. I contacted a couple of companies and recieved estimates from them. Then I saw Mike's adverisement in a flier that came to our home, the price seemed very good and I called to talk to him. He came out and his pricing allowed us to save many dollars over the other companies .Mike works out of his home and has little overhead. We scheduled a date for installation and he arrived promptly on time. He is very friendly and accomodating. He was more than just a salemen, he also did the installation and was able to tell me the best loction in our basement for the intallation. We are very pleased with the system and love having the soft water and reverse osmosis water available in our home again. Thanks Mike. B. Kubik

From the sales call to the installation, Mike was very professional and sold me only what was needed. I was provided options and thorough explanations. Our family was left careful maintenance instructions.

From initial phone call, the company was extremely helpful and informative. They mailed an info packet to us the same day as our inquiry. Their prices were very competitive and when we called back to schedule the installation, they re-arranged their schedule to accommodate ours. They were very thorough and explained everything to us. We are very satisfied with our experience and would definitely recommend this company to family and friends.

The service was provided without issue. They phoned to let me know that they were on their way and arrived on time. The area was left neat and orderly and it was clear they stand behind their word and product. I was ready to have someone try to sell me things in addition but was not the case. The service was completed in about an hour. Very polite and gonestly took pride in the product and service provided. I world recommend Ohio Valley Pure Water to everyone.

Mike was very professional and did a good job. From the time I first contacted him for an estimate to completion of the job, everything was timely and as promised. He has been very easy to contact both before and after the sale/installation.

Great service. I called Mike because we ran out of the resin cleaner for the water softener. He came over right away the next morning and refilled the resin cleaner solution tank and adjusted the flow rate so that we won't use it up so quickly in the future. Checked the settings on all the equipment while he was here.

I was very unhappy with another company that had installed a drinking water system two short years ago. There had been issues with it, and suddenly a "membrane broke" and the company couldn't really explain how their simple three filter system needed to be replaced after two short years (at a cost of $400!). Needless to say, I was less than pleased and searched Angie's List for a company that I could trust. I called Mike at Ohio Valley Pure Water on Friday. He came out promptly the very next day and (after checking over our complicated "pond water" system), he gave me some advice and installed a start-of-the art undersink system and we couldn't be happier with Mike and Ohio Valley Pure Water.

The install was easy since Mike had taken the time to not only setup the filter prior to coming, but also to run water through it so I would be able to use it right away. Since he had already done all of the conenctions for the unit itself, he was able to take it out of the box and just connect the hoses from the sink and waterlines. As a bonus, he also noticed that the drain pipe on one of the sinks was not actually connected to the sink.

Mike, the owner, came out and did a great job. He explained how the system works. He informed me of when I should call him for filter changes. Mike took about an hour to install the system. He cleaned up and took all the boxes with him, so the project area looked tidy after he was done.

I made my initial inquiry by email and Mike was responsive and informative. We finalized arrangements and he was on time and quickly installed the filters. He explained to me when we would need to replace the filters and the costs involved. Everything was very above-board, no selling, just informing and giving me options. He was very patient with my questions and gave me a lot of information. Everything he said lined up with my own research. I was really pleased with the price, our water tastes great, and I am very happy to have the chlorine filtered out of all of our water.

Told all options to installing the RO system - what was best, but glad to arrange things according to what I would desire. Mike is very professional and did an outstanding job of installing our water softener. There was a "slight" problem, and he came back immediately to address it. Mike came to the house and gave us education and a detailed quote based on what WE were looking for versus trying to "sell" us on something we didn't want. He had us scheduled quickly for install and was on time and very professional the day of the install. Mike was very nice, clean and organized and did a great job educating us on upkeep of the system and any other maintenance tips for optimal performance of our system. The owner, Mike, came out to our home and made a proposal for installation of the water filter, water softener, and a reverse osmosis water filtration system for the kitchen. We decided to install the whole house water filter and the water softener. His prices were very reasonable and the equipment he quoted was of high quality. Mike's quote for the water softener was 1/3 that of the big national name brand water softening company. The next day I called Mike and asked him to go ahead with the instillation. He came out himself the next business day and installed the equipment in about 2 hours. The installation was done neatly and professionally and everything is working great. We are really enjoying having soft water and the water filter has improved the taste of the tap water. If you are looking for a water softener, stop reading reviews and just call Mike. You won't regret it. I have already recommended OVPW to one of my neighbors.

We had been thinking for quite some time to have such a system installed but delayed to do this as we had been using a Brita water filter pitcher. What an amazing difference! The quality of the water is so much better. Mike is knowledgable, courteous, and professional. While we have only had our system for two weeks, I would recommend Ohio Pure Valley Water without a doubt.
