Our current water softener had given us continual problems so I sent them a message via their website on Friday morning requesting a quote to replace the softener. Michael called me within a few hours to setup an appointment in my home for later that afternoon. He arrived on time, looked at our current water softener setup/location, and thoroughly explained our options. Michael proposed their water softener solution along with other optional items and gave a very competitive price. The softener install was setup for Monday morning (just 2 days later!) but we needed time to think about the other items relating to water treatment. Michael asked if he could call Sunday evening to get our decisions and we said yes. He called Sunday evening & the install was firmed up then. They showed up on time Monday morning and had everything completed within 2 hours. Since the salt was mostly out of the old softener, they were able to move it from the basement to the curb for trash pickup later that morning. They even emptied all of the remaining water from it to make it lighter to ensure that it would be taken by our regular trash service. And, it was! Great overall service!

+ -1 moreAfter having problems for over a month with my previous water softening system, I was fed up and turned to angies list for help. I called Ohio Valley Pure Water and Mike came out the same day. He explained to me what work he would need to do, how much it would cost, and told me the background of his company. Mike was 100% professional, and after checking with some neighbors that had used the company, I went ahead with the installation. Mike explained to me what to expect, and he carefully removed my old systems and replaced it with the new, working system. I was not able to be at home when the installation occurred, but felt comfortable enough with Mike to have him do the work anyway. When I had a question one evening a week later, Mike came out the next day and took care of my (very) minor concern. I feel that Mike and his crew are honest, straight forward, and I would hire them again, and recommend them to friends and family. Mike went higher than my expectations when he installed a pressure regulator on my reverse osmosis system because he discovered that I needed it, but told me that it would be no charge. I am grateful that I found Ohio Valley Pure Water on Angies list.

We spoke the next morning and he came out promptly to give me an estimate and show me all of my options. Mike was very professional and there was no pressure to buy. He knew his product, was able to answer all my questions, and once I decided what I wanted done we made the appointment. Mike called this morning while in route to let me know he was on his way and on time. The install went very smoothly and quickly. Mike and his father-n-law did the install and were both very courteous and made sure I understood how all the systems worked. + -1 moreThey arrived right on time. The work was completed in a timely manner. All of my questions were answered as well as general water heater maintenance tips that I was unaware of. He cleaned up the work area and with my permission left his boxes broken down and at the curb for next day recycling pick up. Everything seems to be working well and i am beginning to notice softer water after just a couple of days. The reverse osmosis system also seems to be working well and I have much better tasting water now. All of the people I interacted with were a pleasure to work with.

+ 0 moreMike called me almost immediately after I sent him an email via his web site asking some questions. He took the time to answer all my questions sufficiently and offered to come to the house the next day, even though I was on the outermost location in his service area. Mike came out and looked at my system and confirmed that the previous softener had failed and needed replaced...it was 22 years old after all. Mike offered to go ahead and do the install that day or whatever day worked best for me. He went ahead and completed the install in a little over an hour and also explained the dechlorination system, which I went ahead and also purchased. He was very deliberate and conscientious in his work. He explained how we gets such a good deal on water softeners and how he can pass that savings on to you. As an engineer, he also took the time to answer all the questions that I had about the system. I am another one of the many happy customers for Ohio Valley Pure Water.

+ -1 moreContacted the owner of OH Valley Pure Water Systems on 4/18/2013 to discuss their osmosis system. The owner, Mike Noschang was very polite and professional. I expressed my dissatisfaction with another leading company who had installed their Reverse Osmosis System in our home & the lack of yearly follow-up service. Mike understood perfectly and insured me that his company would make sure that I would be contacted yearly as a reminder of changing filters. I understood perfectly that the old system would have to be replaced with OH Valley Pure Water's Osmosis System and I would never expect them to work on another company's equipment. Really surprised that since Mike would be in our area the next day, he decided to fit us into his schedule, therefore, our new system was installed on 4/19/2013. Since I already was familiar with reverse osmosis and how it worked, etc. the appointment went very smoothly & quickly. Really happy with the new system & the "free" color deisign faucet [a special perk for Angie's List Members]. Water tastes great & I am so happy that I called & made the switch to Ohio Valley Pure Water Systems!

+ -1 moreOhio Valley Pure Water and its owner, Mike, were top notch from start to finish. Mike and Wardell arrived on time and communication was excellent. They clearly take pride in their work and represent the company well. After arrival, Mike discovered that he needed to modify a couple of fittings in order to install the reverse osmosis filter. He made a quick trip to get new fittings and completed the job in the time promised. Again, excellent communication is so valuable in helping meet customer expectations. Perhaps more impressive than the installation day service one was how they responded to an issue I had on the second day. It was minor but Mike responded within minutes at 7:00 AM and had the issue completely resolved in my home by 9:00 AM on the same morning. The water softener and drinking system are working perfectly and I am confident if there are any future issues that Ohio Valley Pure Water will respond quickly and stand behind their work. It was a pleasure doing business with Ohio Valley Pure Water and I would certainly recommend them to famliy and friends. Thanks Dan

We contacted several water softener provider for estimation, and Ohio Valley Pure Water is the only one that provides a product that meet our needs at a fair price. Mike was very prompt in answering calls and requests. As we have a finished basement with the main water shut-off in the finished area and never had a water softener installed in this house before, he came twice to make sure the installation site and took extra effort in avoiding installing the softener in the finished area. The installation was smooth and professional. We were very happy with the whole process.

They contacted us this year to remind us we needed to change our filters, which was helpful, so we arranged a convenient time and had the filters changed out. This is a small cost compared to worrying about too much chlorine in my water. Mike is very easy to work with and keeps his costs low. He is on time, answers questions, and does great work.

Description of Work: Going with Ohio Valley Pure Water (OVPW) was a good move for us. After the installation, we calculated that we will have a 5 to 6 year payback based on the salt savings over our old water softener salt supplier, since OVPW uses pellets in the brine hopper, and we can get 40 lb.bags retail a lot cheaper than what we were paying for salt delivery service before. After 5 or 6 years of salt savings the water softener will pay for itself. The water softener was installed and running within a few days of the order. Mike spent a good forty five (45) minutes answering my questions. After he successfully answered all my questions over the phone he said he could install the new unit any time based on my convenience. After the initial phone conversation, Mike and his father-in-law stopped by for a home inspection. This was a good idea since he had to bring some extra brine tank tubing due to the distance between where the water softer goes and where the salt tank needed to be located. That saved time on the installation date. I think Mike said the system came with a 3ft tube. He had to bring a 6ft tube. Mike did not do the installation (at first) until it was noticed that the timer head had a leak. It was not OVPW’s fault as it was just a bad unit from the factory. Mike was notified, by his father-in-law via phone and Mike dropped a semi-emergency with his family to bring another timer head to the jobsite. In the meantime, it was discovered that the whole house filter had a bad carbon filter. The bad carbon filter was blocking 80%-90% of the water flow to the rest of the house. Mike received another call to bring along a new carbon filter with a different lot number. When Mike showed up with the new timer head and new carbon filter I bet he had the system up and working within 20 minutes or less. From that point forward we have not had any problems. After the water softener and whole house filter was installed both of them hooked up the RO system in a few minutes. My kids love the taste of the new water. Their average rating of the new RO water is now a 9.5 verses a 4.5 (out of 10) as compared to the previous RO system. We went from a 3 stage filter before to a 6 stage filter from OVPW. If you get the RO system, mention that you want it mounted in the basement. I think that is usually extra. Since we had all the tubing in place (from the basement) it was not an issue. We did not want to give up the space under the sink. If you get the whole house filter option consider requesting that the filter be supported (held up) with some wire to one of the basement ceiling joists. The weight of the whole house filter just seems a bit heavy for the valve connections. I don’t think it would snap off but it looks a bit under stress (when the whole house filter is full of water). Even though there were a few problems with the installation I have chosen to rate OVPW very high. That’s because the problems were resolved promptly as they were discovered. Overall they did a great job.

Mike doesn't employ high pressure sales and comes across as very sincere about making sure you have the right solution for your needs. Mike and his father-in-law both showed up on the agreed upon date and time and had all the supplies they needed to do the job quickly and completely. They cleaned up after themselves and left the area as clean as it was when they arrived. Mike also patiently answered all of my questions about the maintenance and service of the unit. + -1 moreFABULOUS Service and response time. Bypass valve on my original water softener failed sending a stream of water across the basement requiring the shut off of water to the entire house. Ohio Valley Pure Water came out the same day I called, assessed the problem, proposed solution and scheduled install for the next day! They were in and out in a couple hours. Will recommend them to anyone needing these services. Only criticism - - I think they should have taken the packing material from the newly installed equipment with them instead of leaving it with my househould garbage.
