Ohio Basement Authority

Ohio Basement Authority and their employees are great people. We had someone out to do work on our internet and when they got into the crawlspace they said there was standing water. Thus beginning our roller coaster ride to where we are now. I initially contact The Basement Doctor and had them do an estimate, their initial estimate came out to around $25k. Upon having their lead foreman out we were told the estimate was completely wrong and it would be about $10k more. Upon hearing that I did some research and found that The Basement Doctors price per "Pier" was about $800 above the midwest average. When their lead foreman scheduled to meet with us he was 45 minutes late. With an estimate of $32k and only a half encap for our crawlspace. Then comes Ohio Basement Authority. I saw them on another google review and gave them a call for an estimate. They sent out their sales representative Andrew who was on time and very forward and honest about what to expect. Their estimate came out to around $28k including a full encapsulation, sump pump (waterproofing) and a commercial grade dehumidifier. The crews showed up on time and started work. Ryan's crew was here first and answered any and all questions or requests I had without hesitation. They explained everything as they were doing and made sure we understood what to expect the property to look like post project and why. Jose's crew came in after Ryan's to do the waterproofing and encapsulation, they were courteous and efficient and did an amazing job. Both crews cleaned up very well. The crawlspace was clean enough I crawled around with my 3 year old after the epoxy vapors subsided. All in all, I would recommend anyone who needs to have foundation or waterproofing work done should give OBA a call and get an estimate, I can almost guarantee it'll be less expensive and an all around better experience than anyone else.

We had our sump pump replaced and our crawl space encapsulated. Everyone I had contact with was extremely courteous, professional and knowledgeable. John, our salesman, thoroughly explained the projects, which was very helpful. The installation crew, Evert, Davis and Amilcar were very careful to cover the wood floors leading to the basement door with plastic. They got both projects done in under 5 hours. They were polite, friendly and answered all my questions. We are so happy with the results and would highly recommend Ohio Basement Authority to anyone.

Staff were excellent!

I had a great experience with Ohio Basement Authority. The man who came out to give a quote was friendly and local to my area. He took the time to explain to me why it happened and how we could fix it. We landed on a solution that was $12,000 less than the Basement Dr. quote! The issue I had was the front of my foundation was slanting in 3.5inches twisting my support beam, pushing out 2 other walls and the back wall cracked do too last winter. It was a scary mess, but they we kind, helpful and didn’t make it more anxiety stricken then it already was. Great company!

I had OBA replace my 60+ year old sewer line which was being eaten away by tree roots and a drainage pipe that had collapsed under a new driveway that the former homeowners had put in. From the associate who provided the estimate to the two crews that came to perform the work, I was thoroughly impressed with this company. Not only did they provide a better quote than two other companies I had take a look, but they also provided great recommendations about what to fix and what was unnecessary padding. They were able to schedule the work within the same month and I stayed around during the construction to watch them work. They were very polite, mindful of the neighbors and checked with me each time they had to do anything off script. Even the city inspector who stopped by to inspect the work indicated to me privately that the crew knew what they were doing and was performing good work. No one wants to dig up their yard to replace a sewer line but if it is something you have to do, you want to someone you can trust. I couldn't have been more happy with my experience with OBA and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a similar repair.

My installers of a new, bigger, reservoir and 2 new sump pumps were Gene and Jerimiah. They were careful to not damage my carpet on the finished side of my basement and even scrubbed the floor where they were working before they left. Good job guys!!!

The office was fabulous. The gentleman that we worked with that did our estimate was professional and a pleasure to work with. The 2 man crew that was sent to our home to fix our waterlines were not as friendly or as easy to work with. Lots of miscommunication which led to unnecessary work and cosmetic damage to my lawn. I should add that this took place while I was at work and could not oversee the project. I accept some of the blame of this. They were given a drawn map of directions from their office and I also received a copy. These directions were not followed. Once we returned from work and could assist, the work was completed and the men stayed until everything was cleaned up. This was well past their normal hours.

Very polite, professional and on time. The manager that did the estimate was on time ( unlike some from Home advisor i.e some no shows) Explained exactly what they would do at a reasonable price! Overall good experience with Ohio Basement Authority. Had some water seepage in our basement, and they installed channels in the basement to redirect any seeping water to the sump pump. Also, our radon levels were a bit elevated though not extremely high, they installed a radon mitigation system, that dropped our levels to less than the national average. Will consider them again for any future projects.

Our salesman, John Becker was very knowledgeable and explained everything thoroughly. The workers were very neat and cleaned up our basement nicely. Very little dust. Basement looks and smells great. Very responsive to calls and concerns.

After Brendan, the inspector/estimator, discussed an overall plan with us, the crew of Ben, Collin, and Jose came for the installation, a large job which included waterproofing (trench and sump pump), some 30 foot pilings, and several wall anchors. They were prompt, courteous, and very willing to explain and discuss the work as they moved along. As our home is older, they ran into some unforeseen issues but always alerted us to any changes that needed to be made before implementation. Ben came up with creative solutions to some tricky problems. The team displayed good craftsmanship and finished on time even while including some work for which they weren't really responsible, but culminated an extremely successful project. These guys really worked hard, nonstop throughout each day the hardest working crew with which we've ever contracted. I was surprised at how they were able to minimize the interior dust and the disruption of the exterior landscape, and they did a very nice job cleaning up after the work.

I hired these guys to install new SunHouse window enclosures to replace my basic window well covers. This product looks great and is such an improvement over the builder grade wells I had. The installation team Jose, Sergio and Angel were a terrific bunch. No messing around with these guys. They went straight to work, removing gravel and moving some of it for me. They were careful not to damage any of the Landscaping and just did a tremendous job working right through a rain shower that passed through and cleaned up the work site meticulously. I was very impressed! I would recommend this crew to anyone!

Radon mitigation system. Excellent job and price

I had a water drainage system installed and a water line repaired. The crew who came in for the water line did a good job with the work but did not call me when there was a problem the first time they came. It was resolved.m, but a phone call would have been appreciated. To crew that came out for the drainage system called before they got here and gave me a call after they left. They did a great job, and the system seems to be working fine. I want to give special recognition to Dave, he was with us all the way through the process. He's genuinely concerned about making sure that we were happy with the work. He is a real asset to this company. I would hire again and recommend without reservation.

Larry and Adam came to replace my 35 yr old water main. They both were professional, friendly, knowledgeable and hard working. They offered opinions on the repair and adjusted my bill due to a measurement error. I am very happy with the work

The crew did a great job installing our new sump pump with battery back up. They had to jack hammer to make the pit bigger. They were very courteous and placed plastic throughout the house down to the basement. They did a great job cleaning up, you'd never know they were there. Would definitely hire again very professional.
