Moldovan Roofing & Construction LLC

We should have checked Angies List first..now we are out thousands with Moldovan Roofing. We hired Mr. Moldovan in July 2010 to replace a rubber roof and also to remove/ rebuild the deck which sits atop the rubber roof. Mr. Moldovan used subcontractors to complete the work on time with a ten year warranty on materials and labor. In October 2010, the rubber roof began leaking again, and we asked Mr. Moldovan to repair it per his warranty. He said he could not get to the roof until spring, as the weather prevented him from addressing the repair. As the season progressed, the roof leaked profusely, ruining the doors, walls and ceiling of our sunroom (which we had just re-drywalled, painted and insulated after his initial roof repair). We hounded him for many months before he finally sent a subcontractor out to repatch some areas. Throughout the spring and summer of 2011, The roof continued to leak and we continued to make persistent effort to get him to come out. He did come out once more with a subcontractor who actually used duct tape as part of the permanent "repair." At this point we spent a hefty sum to hire an independent structural engineer and an attorney to assess the roof and encourage Mr. Moldovan to complete his work, which he has NEVER COMPLETED! We have also sought the advice of numerous roof professionals who have indicated that the Mr. moldovan's roof was not properly installed. Mr. Moldovan has even admitted to us that he does not know how to fix the roof. Now, we just want our money back so that we can fix the roof properly. Fast forward to November 15, 2011: Mr. Moldovan will not return our calls, he has NOT REFUNDED OUR MONEY, our room is useless and severely damaged, we are out thousands of dollars in repair costs, attorneys fees and engineer fees...AND THE ROOF STILL LEAKS! Interestingly, besides not returning our calls, he also changed his fax number to his wife's fax machine at Buddy's Carpet..if this is any indication of his professionalism. also, for a humorous note, his roofer proudly a displays a bumper sticker: "breast inspection ahead: have 'em ready." Nice. Learn from our mistakes: Do not hire this man!
