M & R HARDWOOD FLOORS

Absolutely terrible. Ended up having to stay at a hotel for three weeks for a job that should have taken 2.5 days. Mike didn t show up most of the time, when he did, he d work for a couple of hours and then went home. Walked in to discover them going through the change drawer and looking through other things that weren t related to work they were hired to do. They got finish all over refrigerator, and kitchen floor (they weren t suppose to be in there) which we had to replace. Had to call the cops/lawyers because they left their stuff in our house and didn t show up for 4 days. Workmanship was terrible. Our floors are cracked and splitting due to their terrible work. They actually cut up our floor with a saw and used wood patch they bought from Home Depot to try and fix. They gouged our walls with their sanders which I had to fix. We will need to redo the whole house again. My blood still boils when I think about our experience with Mike Vonderheide. I wouldn t use this company.

SAW M & R SIGN AT A HOUSE WHEN WE WERE HOUSEHUNTING, AND DURING THE ESTIMATE MIKE HAD COMPETITIVE PRICES AND COULD SCHEDULE US SO THE FLOORS WERE TO BE DONE BEFORE WE MOVED INTO NEW HOUSE. WE GAVE HIM 1/2 DOWN DEPOSIT/MATERIALS. HE CAME BY LATE (AFTER 10:30) ON THE DAYS WE SAW BEFORE WE HAD TO LEAVE TOWN AGAIN TO FINISH PACKING/MOVING. HE NEVER SHOWED UP AFTER THAT AND WE ENDED UP HAVING TO HIRE THE PLASTERER/HANDYMEN TO FINISH THE JOB OF REPAIRING AND REFINISHING OUR WOOD FLOORS. NEIGHBORS AND OTHER CONTRACTORS SAID THEY SAW M & R SHOW UP FOR 2-3 HOURS TO SIT ON OUR FRONT PORCH AND SMOKE; I'M STILL PICKING BUTTS OUT OF OUR YARD! THEY LEFT THEIR EQUIPMENT ON OUR ROOKWOOD FIREPLACE AND DID A POOR JOB ON WHAT THEY DID COMPLETE. OTHER CONTRACTORS UPDATED US ON THE SITUATION. AFTER A WEEK, M & R LEFT JOB SITE AND WOULDN'T RETURN CALLS. I GOT A CALL FROM HIM ABOUT 6 WEEKS LATER SAYING HE WAS COMING BACK TO FINISH IT (LIKE HE NEVER LEFT) AND I FIRED HIM THEN.
