I took Luke to see the house before purchasing it, explaining what I wanted in terms of a sustainable rehab. He took it from there and found the folks to tear it back to the brick-on-brick walls, then the contractors to put it all back together, including specialists in solar energy, etc. His aesthetic sense is far better than mine and I have a lot of confidence in his ideas and advice. He saw possibilities for less expensive ways to do things that would also make it more sustainable- i.e., digging out English basement, not building an additional floor. He really did his homework on the variety of products we needed and also listened to my thoughts and concerns. He also worked with the landscape architect, in fact did much of her work for her. He also did a terrific job of working through the permitting process, complicated with rainwater harvesting, rigid insulation over brick, other things the city hadn't dealt with.
