Description of Work: I was previously a loyal customer of this service provider. I attempted to schedule routine service on my A/C. I scheduled an appointment about a week in advance, and told my employer that I would need to be at home during the allotted hours I was given for the appointment time, between 8:30 and 9:30 in the morning. I went in to work early and then left to be at home in time for the appointment. When I arrived at my home at 8:20, I saw that I missed a call from Liberty at about 8:05. I was in the car, driving to my house, and I do not answer my cell while driving. The representative left a voicemail stating that I needed to call back to confirm my appointment. I promptly called back when I saw the missed call, about 15 minutes later. I was then told that since I did not call back soon enough, my appointment was given to someone else, and I could either reschedule, or I could take a later appointment time between 10:30 and 11:00. I objected to this, as I was home in the allotted time window for my appointment. I was told by the Liberty representative that I was made aware that I would receive a call the morning of my appointment and that my appointment would be forfeited if I did not call back in what they deemed the appropriate amount of time. This is simply not true. I was not told about this policy, and further more, I called back approximately 15 minutes after the call was made. A service provider should be respectful of a customer's time. just as I was respectful of their time, ensuring that I was home prior to the allotted appointment window that I was given. The Liberty electric representative was rude and unprofessional. I was a loyal customer, my parents were customers. No more though. Customer service is key! Plenty of other providers in town who would appreciate my business.

Description of Work: Annual A/C checkup.When I had a problem with electric wires hanging low outside and Duke Energy would not do anything about it, John,the owner got on the phone and within hours Duke was out and fixed the problem. Does not recommend things that do not need to be done.

Description of Work: Our five outside outlets stopped working and we needed an outlet in an upstairs bath replaced. John Green (Liberty's owner) completed all the work after checking all our GFI outlets and finding the problem outlet which he replaced. He was here for between 45 minutes and one hour.

His prices are competitive, and he is timely with scheduling which I so appreciated. He moved an outlet for me and did the drywall repair himself which saved me calling and scheduling another contractor to do it. Since using him I have been giving out this business name to family and friends.
Description of Work: install new hot water dispenser under sink, moved an existing electrical wall switch, fan for downdraft on new cooktop

 + 0 moreWhen I called John to get an estimate, he gave me his rates and a range of time based on my description of the work. One other electrician i talked to wouldn't give me an estimate of time, nor his rates, and he wanted me to pay $20 for a site visit and estimate. I much preferred John's approach. The work was scheduled for the following week. The actual work was performed in a professional manner. He had the right tools and parts he needed, and he used padding to protect the vanity top. Three fixtures of light strips were removed above the mirror. Wiring was rerouted up the wall into the ceiling. He worked around a surprise finding of a header in the wall consisting of three boards instead of the customary two boards but this created an extra hole in the wallboard that wasn't expected. Still, in all, he created fewer holes in the wall than the original contractor who left a big hole behind one of the strips. He hung 4 separate pendant lights from the sloped ceiling at positions we wanted them. He measured the cords to hang them at the height we desired (all 4 were different since the ceiling was sloped). Because the light fixtures were right out of the box, the cords did not hang perfectly straight, so it might be some time before we can tell if all fixtures are at the right height. He told us how to adjust them if necessary. We provided the new lights, he installed them. I had told him that he would not have to repair the wall holes because a painter was coming to make other repairs anyway and would take care of it. Even so, he was prepared to fix them if i wanted. The final bill was in the range he had expected. I will use him again if we need additional electrical work.
Description of Work: John removed bathroom vanity lights above the mirror and installed new pendant lights in the vaulted ceiling.

 + 1 moreLiberty Electric did not have the lowest price, but I chose them for the professionalism shown by owner John Green and the assurance I had that I'd receive 24-hour emergency service. John explained things in much more detail than the other reps I spoke with. He was the only one (of four total) who said I should upgrade my electric service, and told me about the shortcut the other providers would probably take; I then did some on-line research and decided I wanted the security of knowing my electric was up to code John told me when they'd start (the following week!) and what to expect (four days). He made certain he had an opportunity to show me the system after it was installed and explain again how it works and exactly what he and his crew did. As a single (female) homeowner without a lot of experience in these matters, it's nice to feel that I'm in good hands.
Description of Work: Removed gas boiler and installed new heating/cooling system; installed ductwork in attic, removed old pipes in crawl space and moved gas line. Upgraded electric service, including bringing my pole height to code.. At no additional cost, they installed three new light fixtures I'd recently purchased.

 + 1 moreThey have done work for us for a long time. We spent about $ 7,000 on that service. I am just a big fan of theirs and it is the owner and his son primarily. I just totally trust him and he has done electrical things in the past. They did the furnace and they also come and do the maintenance on it twice a year and I never had any problem with them.
Description of Work: We used Liberty Electric Heating & Cooling 1.5 years ago and they put in a new furnace, hot water heater and air-conditioning unit for us.

 + -1 moreCalled for an appt, they were able to work us in the next day. They called the day of service with a window of time, and the service person was even a little early. It didn't take long to find the leak. Apparently, a 25 yr old unit can't be repaired, so he refilled it to make it last a while, and gave us an estimate for a new one. I'm satisfied with the service.
Description of Work: Checked air conditioning unit, discovered a slow leak. Refilled refrigerant.

 + -1 moreWHEN THEY CAME TO GIVE THE ESTIMATE FOR THE JOB, THEY WERE THE ONLY COMPANY THAT COVERED THEIR SHOES TO PROTECT MY CARPETING FROM DIRT AND DEBRIS. WHEN THEY DID THE ACTUAL INSTALLATION THEY MADE SURE THAT THEY COVERED THE FLOORS WITH DROP CLOTHS SO THEY WOULDN'T DAMAGE THEM. THERE WAS A SMALL STAIN THAT WAS LEFT FROM THE OLD EQUIPMENT. THEY PAID FOR A CARPET CLEANER TO COME IN AND CLEAN THE STAIRS. IN ADDITION THEY PERFORM REGULAR CLEANINGS AND CALL WITH REMINDERS. I LIKE THE FACT THAT I KNOW EACH ONE OF THEM PERSONALLY. IF I SEE THEM OUT, THEY RECOGNIZE ME AND SPEAK. ALL OF THEIR WORK IS DONE BY WORD OF MOUTH. THEY SAID THEY DON'T NEED TO ADVERTISE BECAUSE THEY GET SO MUCH BUSINESS BY PRIOR CUSTOMERS. I RECOMMENDED THEM TO 3 ADDITIONAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THEM INSTALL UNITS AND DO ELECTRICAL WORK FOR THEM.

AFTER WORKING 5 OR 6 HOURS IN THE HOUSE, THE OWNER REALIZED THAT HE COULD NOT UPDATE THE AMPAGE BECAUSE THE UNDERGROUND CABLES WERE NOT WHAT HE THOUGHT. HE WOULD NOT GIVE ANY OF OUR MONEY BACK OR DISCOUNT ANYTHING! WE FELT THAT HE SHOULD HAVE CONFIRMED THE UNDERGROUND WIRING BEFORE STARTING THE WORK. THEN A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER, WE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE EXTERIOR OUTLETS. WE CALLED AND SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR HIM TO RETURN. HE CALLED THE NIGHT BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT AND LEFT A MESSAGE ON OUR ANSWERING MACHINE TO CALL HIM BACK --- WE DID NOT GET THE MESSAGE UNTIL LATE. HE DID NOT SHOW UP THE NEXT MORNING. WHEN WE CALLED BACK, HE SAID HE WOULD NOT COME BACK BECAUSE IT WAS NOT WORTH HIS TIME AND GAS MONEY TO DRIVE FROM FOREST PARK TO MASON (WHERE WE LIVE). HE ADDED THAT HE DID NOTHING WRONG. WE ENDED UP HAVING TO PAY ANOTHER ELECTRICAN TO COMPLETE THE JOB.
Description of Work: FOREST PARK ELECTRIC WAS ASKED TO UPGRADE THE ELECTRICAL AMPAGE COMING INTO MY HOME. THEY WERE ALSO ASKED TO INCREASE THE ELECTRICAL BOX IN THE BASEMENT AS A RESULT OF REMODELING THE BASEMENT.
