From start to finish Dave was responsive to our needs and easy to work with. Installers were polite, prompt and professional. Cost was in line with other bids. We highly recommend this company!

The estimate process was easy and Steve was professional. I called 3 places and he was the only company who listened to what I wanted and therefore his estimates and work clearly met my expectation. Other companies kept trying to up sell me, so that was annoying. Their attentive nature won my business. After a 6-8 week lead time,the job went really well. I made a couple of last minute changes which the team graciously accommodated. I ordered a new replacement claw foot tub, which was supplied by another company and they were able to install it. They always cleaned up at the end of the day and made extra effort to help keep our small children, who receive in home child care, safe and out of the work zone. There was an unknown plumbing problem discovered in the basement near the end of the job that the team was able to fix quickly. Even with these challenges, the job still finished on time. The only snag was with the county permit, but Steve took care of this promptly as well. The job cost more than estimated, but I expected that because I changed the scope of the work and there were unknown plumbing issues that had to be addressed. All in all, I was VERY happy with outcome. My family loves our new bathroom and we get tons of compliments on it.

Although Dave Carver, the owner attempted to make everything right, it took about a year to finish the bathroom and much of the workmanship was poor. They had to order several sets of cabinets in to get one without blemish. The tile has cracked, they came out and re-grouted, but the tile is cracking again. After the second time the grout color did not match the original. My wife and I have been very displeased with their workmanship They never finished up all of the drywall work and I now have tile grouting beginning to crack.

All of the work went very smoothly. Workers arrived when scheduled, did a great job, and finished ahead of schedule. Everyone was easy to work with. Cost was a little high but well worth the result.

the salesman and the installers were awesome! the installers did very clean work,very informative and knowledgable. we've used carver and sons numerous times in the last 23 years on our home improvements,they have always done great work and obviously continue to do so. GREAT JOB!

Due to a previous contractors inability to diagnose and fix a leaky window I decided to call Steve Carver at Jim Carver & Sons. This contractor had provided service to me previously and I was very happy. Steve Carver came to my house and investigated the leaky window in question and determined that the window was installed improperly. Exterior trim had been affixed over the weep-holes and prevented the windows from properly draining. Considering the amount of rain this area had during the spring and summer I was constantly checking the window, putting bath towels around the leaking window and unable to leave home whenever it rained. Steve also agreed to install the bath window I purchased through the previous contractor who said he had my measurements for that window on file. This previous contractor refused to come to my home and investigate the source of the water leaking in through the window and also refused to re-measure the bath window. I should have known....the window I now have which I paid for is 1 inch too wide for the opening and cannot be installed. Kudos to Jim Carver and Sons for getting 2 new replacement windows quickly and yes, the old were not installed properly, that's why they were leaking. My windows don't leak anymore. Steve Carver also offered to install the window I purchased through the previous contractor, which he didn't have to do. I only wish it was the right size. Steve Carver came to my home on the day of installation to check on how the windows were installed, even his installer said the previous windows were put in wrong. Thank you Steve for the great job you did for me.

The project went very well. Dave Carver was excellent in leading us through the design and selection process. Their installers were prompt, professional and did great work. We had a couple minor issues that needed correcting and that was taken care of quickly and professionally.

I have nothing but kudos for Steve Carver and his team. Everything was done as they said it would be - at the price I was quoted - and it looks great. This was an easy process and I will definitely use them again.

Excellent. We love the look and feel and the work. Great crew. Two and a half years later we accidentally discovered that the steam generator condensation run off was not hooked into the drainage system and was just leaking into the crawlspace in the basement below our master bath. We hired a plumber to fix the problem, wrote to Carver and they, promptly, within a week, wrote us a check, to reimburse the cost. Great guy to stand behind his work a year and a half after the warranty expired.

Everything went great! After installation one of the glass panels failed to stay in place. Steve Carver came to my house and fixed it promptly. Everything was done in a very professional manner. These are very nice people who do a great job and have excellent follow-through to return and fix a repair. I would highly recommend this contractor. Steve Carver also repaired a pull-out tray in one of my kitchen cabinets. My cabinets were old, but Steve came to my home and fixed the pull out drawer which now works fine. Not many people would repair something which they did not install. Kudos to Carver and Sons for their great work.

We were very pleased indeed with the service and goods we purchased from Jim Carver and Sons. We talked to three other providers and found Carver to be far and away the best. Here is why: - Dave look a lot of time with us, explaining the pros and cons of everything (quartz vs. granite) - Dave has a great sense of design - They never balked at our not wanting something (e.g. we didn't need cabinets) and didn't try to press us into upgrading things we didn't need or would not be fitting for the location. - Dave came out and measured and then had another person come out and laser measure for the countertops. - Worked well with the appliance provider. - They were through the job in 5 days. - The work crews were spectacular: experienced, polite, hard working, helpful, and didn't impose on us or try to sell us things we didn't need. - The quality of work they performed was A+. - If there were any questions they were answered right away, problems were fixed right now, proper responsibility was accepted. - Dave coordinated it all for us (this is a big thing, not everyone does that). Companies who can do all that are rare nowadays, and Carver knows that. I would not hesitate to send anyone to Carver to have their kitchen done. They are excellent in every way.

We got a quote over a year before deciding to use Jim Carver & Sons for this project. We were shocked at the price of a replacement door when we received our first quote from Carver. Over the next 12 months we obtained three more quotes on similar styles. All quotes were higher than Carver and none of them could replace the wood surround that was rotting without using a subcontractor and adding to the already higher price. The initial consult with Carver was a no pressure situation and wasn't one of those canned sales pitches that are painful to sit through. They were responsive when we had questions after the initial consultation. A lot of our communication with them was via email which was nice when we wanted to refer back to everything a year later. Fourteen months after receiving the initial quote, we decided to move forward with Carver. We knew exactly what we wanted since we stewed over it for so long. Carver was able to move quickly and get everything installed within the quoted time frame of 6-8 weeks. My husband was home during the install and said the installers were courteous and friendly. Above all, the installation work was impeccable. We think the door, surround and shutters look fabulous. We are very happy with Carver.

Carver and Sons did a WONDERFUL job with both upgrades! Barb the designer was a gem to work with, and she did an excellent job not only of helping with selections of tile, fixtures, granite color, etc., but she was superb as the overall coordinator for the two projects. She made the entire process pretty painless, and was willing to work within my schedule many times. If I had an issue, she worked with me to resolve it to my satisfaction. For my two projects, she effectively was the face of Carver and Sons. I would work with her again in a heartbeat! She assisted me with my selections and made good, practical recommendations. Every scheduled date was hit during the project. In fact, she was able to move one of the projects up in the schedule by more than a month because they had some changes. I very much appreciated that she was able to do that, minimizing my time and getting both projects done before the Christmas holiday. The professionals who performed the work were good people, too. They were always prompt, courteous and showed respect for my house. They had a lot of work to do with demolition and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. The work was done in a reasonable amount of time. I was surprised both projects were completed as quickly as they were. The work was done with high quality on both projects. I could not be any happier with the outcome! I would gladly use them again for any remodeling work. I heartily recommend them. Oh, I almost forgot; I thought the cost was very reasonable for each project. The kitchen was around $8,500 and the bathroom around $9,000. For the quality of the service and their work, I felt these prices were very reasonable and not at all out of line. I am now a big fan of Carver and Sons. This was my first project with them, but I plan to use them again.

This was a fantastic experience. When Dave Carver came to talk with us, we had already talked with three other potential contractors and the ideas that Dave had were hands down, the most creative and efficient solution of all and didn't gouge us or leave us with unfinished cabinets as most of the other contractors had. The advice that Dave provided when we were making decisions for materials was welcomed and useful. These guys know the business and their product offerings are tried and true - you aren't going to get a faucet, sink, etc. from them that is low quality. When in doubt, ask their advice...they will help. And, finally, the people who do their work are part of the Carver business - not contractors who don't care. I felt 100% comfortable with their work, their cleanup at the end of the day and we were so happy with them, that when it came time to remodel our master bath - we called them and only them. It's a matter of trust and we won't go anywhere else.

One of Carver's reps came to talk with us and came back with a price that was higher than we had communicated. And this was a strange situation because he shortly left the company and we started working with Steve Carver as his replacement. Steve was amazing to work with. After we explained our budget to Steve, he started offering ideas of where we could reduce cost without affecting quality. Boom! We had a deal...and we had to pick out materials - which again, we depended on the advice of Steve and being in the showroom, it was so easy to put things together and visualize it all. When the Carver team arrived, and demo started they kept the house clean even though they had to go down steps, etc to remove the old bathroom pieces. The installation was great, communication was great. And once they start a project on your house, they don't do any other projects in between - so you get the focused attention until the project is completed. The bathroom was amazing...tile floors, new cabinets, countertops, sinks, glass shower. All very well thought out with the help of the Carver team.

First, the design consultation process. When Dave Carver came to our house for the consultation his first question was ?what is your goal? not ?what is your budget? which greatly impressed us. Our primary goal was to upgrade the kitchen for resale value as we will likely down-size in the next five years or so. Based on that goal, Dave made suggestions that would increase the value without going over the top on cost. Here?s a few examples. Our soffit has plumbing in it. Plumbing can be moved, but would be expensive to do so. Instead, Dave suggested keeping the cupboard height as is but add crown molding at the top. We have a peninsula in the kitchen, not an island. Dave suggested keeping the peninsula but add false doors on the front to ?dress it up?. With that and adding an overhang on the countertop so stools can be used at it, the peninsula looks great. Dave also tried to steer us to lower cost granite class, backsplash, lighting options and suggested that our appliances did not need to be replaced. We ignored some of that advice, but it was our own choosing, not due to any high-pressure sales tactics on Dave?s part. Next, the workmanship. Dave?s team did a great job in all aspects of the work. It was done on time and with high-quality. All issues addressed promptly. He even accommodated a schedule change that we needed. We could not be more pleased with our kitchen renovation and the experience of working with Jim Carver & Sons. Highly recommend them.

Considering what the installer had to work with he did a very good job. This is a 100 year old farm house with thick log walls and out of square dimensions. Very happy with the results

We found Carver & Sons through an Angie's List search. I met with Dave Carver to get an estimate for the kitchen refresh we were seeking to do in our 23-year-old home. The kitchen was heavily dated, and as part of our update, we hired Carver & Sons to install new countertops and a tile backsplash. Dave Carver helped us find a gorgeous tile for the backsplash at a price acceptable to us. He also helped us finalize the details for the new quartz countertops, including our new sink and faucet. The final price of the project was reasonable for our budget (which was modest as far as kitchen overhauls go). We are thrilled with the results. The kitchen is bright and beautiful now, and as the most heavily used room in our house, it's one in which we also love spending time. Everyone at Carver & Sons has been highly professional and courteous to us, and Dave's design feedback has been helpful as we've moved through the project. The only hiccup was that our new kitchen appliances (which we purchased on our own through another vendor) were unexpectedly on backorder and ended up arriving about a month after Carver & Sons finished their work on our kitchen. We knew the appliances would require some minor modifications to the cabinets and, possibly, drywall, and we originally wanted Carver to install them for us. Due to the late timing of the appliances' arrival, Carver & Sons was not available to install them in a timely fashion, so we hired the appliance dealer to install them instead and our handyman/painter to touch things up after installation. Other than this change in plans, everything has gone very well. We would hire Carver & Sons again and have already recommended them to others.

Dave Carver came out to my home. He understood completely what I wanted to do and what my budget was. I then met him at his showroom to pick out granite, backsplash stone, undermount stainless sink, faucet and new cabinet knobs. Dave communicated often with schedule availability and install dates. All dates were met. The workmen arrived on time. They were very professional and friendly. I would definitely use firm for any future projects.
