My home developed several plumbing leaks over the years. A plumber was hired to fix all leaks and to upgrade some plumbing fixtures, which resulted in multiple areas of damaged drywall, both from the water leaks and incursions into the walls and ceiling to facilitate repairs. I decided that since I have almost no experience working with drywall, I would make all aesthetic (drywall and painting) repairs myself after the plumbing work was complete. Long story short - It's time to sell the house and the realtor suggested that the drywall and painting I performed are eye-soars. So, I called Jim Abel on a recommendation. Jim assessed and completed all drywall repairs (of my botched repairs) and painting work within two days. Jim was punctual and clearly communicated about the work he was performing. Jim's craftsmanship and attention to detail were spectacular! The drywall and paint in the areas where he worked look better than new construction, making the rest of the house look worn and in need of repair and painting. Jim's price was fair. But most importantly, Jim was a nice person to have in my home. He was neat, professional, and meticulous with cleanup and protecting carpet, furniture, etc. Jim was respectful of my family's space and he worked hard and efficiently. Also, he didn't criticize my attempt to do the drywall and painting myself. I give James Abel Painting & Papering my highest recommendation.

Jim arrived on time, worked in an efficient, tidy manner while doing an excellent, neat job. He is completely honest - we just left the door open for him when we could not be at home. He also stripped and installed new wallpaper for us several years ago - still can't see where the seams are. Outstanding, professional, reliable results from an honest, congenial person. Final price was the same as the estimate which was very reasonable. Would definitely hire Jim again and recommend without question.

Jim and Jim came when they said they would. I was still washing wallpaper paste from the master bedroom and they helped me. There was some minor damage to the walls because of the wallpaper removal and they repaired it beautifully. Both rooms turned out great. Jim even painted the discolored vent on the ceiling. They clean up well and are very professional and easy to work with.

Jim was very easy to work with. I selected the colors and he supplied all the paint. They painted the entryway, stairs and upstairs hallway (doors, trim and ceiling 1 coat, walls 2 coats). They also painted our family room with vaulted ceiling (ceiling 1 coat, walls 2 coats). They were very fast, yet very good. Everything looks wonderful. I even asked them to paint some additional doors. This is the first time we have hired a painter instead of doing it ourselves, and my husband joked that he will never paint again. This couldn't have been easier!
