+ -1 moreI bought my home a year ago, and the pale carpet throughout it already had stains on it. Since then, there'd been quite a bit of foot traffic and some pet accidents. Since I plan to eventually replace the carpet, I wanted to see how much life it still had and how good it was capable of looking. So I bought the coupon and contacted Howard's Steam Clean. Because I had to work, I asked a friend to stop by and be present while the cleaning was going on. They reported no problems with the process. I was very pleased - "amazed" might be a better word - at how good the carpet looked afterward. Some stains could not be removed, but the carpet looked just beautiful. This was particularly true in high-traffic, high-stain areas such as the hallway and the area around the dining room table. I would definitely use Howard's Steam Clean again.
Description of Work: Clean pale carpet in four medium-sized rooms and one hallway.

+ -1 moreService was on time. Service was as originally advertised. Very pleasant, courteous, personable service. Started upstairs, did small room, hall and very large bedroom. Advised me on how to keep the areas cleaner and how to dry the steamed areas. Moved equipment down the stairs, cleaned the stairs, and one more carpeted room. Serviceman was careful with his equipment in the house. Rooms were clearly much cleaner and the orangey fresh smell went away after the carpet dried. Very satisfied.
Description of Work: 4 areas (rooms) were pretreated with a pleasant orange smelling cleanser Then areas were steam cleaned.

Description of Work: Cleaned carpets in entire house including stairs and hallway. Great job! Arrived on time. Was only suppose to do 4 rooms but stayed to do entire house. Got stains out of the carpet that I thought would be impossible to remove. When finished gave me some hints on how to prevent pet stains from setting and turning brown when cleaned. + -1 moreI purchased an Angie's List Deal for 4 rooms of carpet cleaning for $99.00. I had trouble getting a hold of Bill initially to schedule the service. Once scheduled, Bill arrived promptly and performed the service. I pointed out some areas that needed pre-treatment and Bill felt he could get the stains out. Unfortunately, none of the stains or heavy traffic marks came out, so the carpets looked pretty much the same after the cleaning as before. I can't give a high rating here because I could not see any difference in the "before" and "after." There was also no "clean carpet smell," so I guess companies must use a deodorizer to make things smell good, which was not the case here. I was disappointed and if I had paid more than $99.00 I would have insisted that the stains and be given more attention, and asked for deodorizer. It felt like a case of "you get what you pay for" but not a good deal.
Description of Work: Bill Howard came and shampooed 4 areas of carpet. Our basement, a hallway, a staircase and a bedroom. It took a little over 1 hour. Bill was professional, punctual and polite. He did not move any furniture to get underneath it, as I have experienced with other companies. He did help me move a large ottoman in the middle of our finished basement after I asked him if he had shampooed the carpet beneath it, which he had not done, but then readily cleaned.

+ -1 moreThe appointment was made when I called the service. He was very accommodating about the time and date that I wanted the job done. He arrived on time, went right to work evaluating the job to be done. He completed the job quickly and was finished in just a little over an hour. The carpet looks great. I'm really glad I had him do it and will definitely call him again in the future. Have recommended him to many of my friends. I hope they will take advantage of his great service!!!
Description of Work: Furniture was moved. Carpet was pretreated with very pleasant citrus based product. Entire carpet was steam cleaned and small protective squares were placed under all pieces of furniture whether the carpet beneath them had been cleaned or not. Mr Howard was very professional and business-like. He had completed the job in just a little over an hour.

We scheduled the date of service and he and Warren arrived on time and were professional, friendly, clean in appearance, and knowledgable of the service they performed. Bill answered the questions I had in regards to the soap being used and the "safeness" as I do have kids and pets. He shared some carpet cleaning tips for future spots. He was easy to deal with, cleaned the carpet with great results...no issues at all. He was great to deal with and I will use his company again in the future.
Description of Work: Bill Howard cleaned 7 rooms of carpet and 1 hallway with stairs. Our living room has WHITE carpet (we have multiple children and 2 dogs) and the end result is really white carpet with no stains. I am surprised/pleased at how clean it is. The other rooms, thankfully, are not white but they too are clean and Bill worked to get any stains out.

I DECIDED TO PAY FOR 1 MONTH OF USE OF ANGIES LIST AND BOY WHAT A MISTAKE.I PAID MY 99.00 FOR 4 ROOMS OF CARPET CLEANING WITH HOWARDS STEAM CLEAN AND WHEN I CALLED BILL HOWARD FOR AN APPOINTMENT THE FIRST THING I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE THE MIDDLE OF AUGUST BEFORE HE COULD GET TO ME, WHICH I ACCEPTED. THEN I ASKED IF HE COULD DO IT ON A SATURDAY MORNING AND HE SAID THEY ONLY WORK MONDAY THRU FRIDAY AND THE LAST APPOINTMENT IS AT 5PM. HE ALSO MENTIONED THAT HE DOES SOME CLEANING FOR UC SO THAT TAKES UP A LOT OF TIME. SO I SAID GIVE ME THE NEXT AVAILABLE FRIDAY YOU HAVE AT 5 PM. THEN GUESS WHAT. HE SAID OH WE DON'T DO 5PM APPOINTMENTS ON FRIDAY. THEN HE ASKED WHERE I LIVED AND I SAID FLORENCE, KY. HE SAID HE DOES NOT GO THAT FAR SINCE HE IS IN MASON OHIO AND HE WANTED TO KNOW WHY ANGIES LIST SENT ME THE EMAILS. I SAID THEY HAD SENT ME NUMEROUS ONES DURING THE SPECIAL PERIOD FOR $99.00. SO NOW I AM WAITING FOR MY REFUND AND I BET I DON'T GET IT AS FAST AS I HAD TO PAY IT. SO I WOULD BE VERY CAUTIOUS ABOUT CALLING BILL HOWARD SINCE HE MIGHT BE A UC OR AT HIS CLUB MEETING ON FRIDAY AT 5PM. ALSO ANGIES LIST HAS LEFT A VERY BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH AFTER USING THEM FOR ONLY 1 TIME. GOOD LUCK !!!!

+ -1 moreThey arrived on time and were able to get out some mystery stains that we were worried about because it was a dark stain on light carpet. The coupon only covered 1/2 of the rooms that we needed cleaned, so they were able to clean all of the rooms and charged an additional $35 per room, which I thought was reasonable.
Description of Work: I had an Angies List coupon for this company and called them when I knew the closing date of my new house and needed someone to clean the carpets quickly.

+ -1 moreHoward's was also going to clean my tile today, but he had some technical problems, and has to reschedule. If he does as good of a job on my tile, as he did on my carpet, I am going to be extremely pleased. Part of what I really liked about him was, before he came out, I called him because my Angie's List coupon had expired. He was willing to honor the coupon, and was willing to schedule around my availability. He was very cooperative, and explained things to me. I have three cats, and he got all the stains from them out. I haven't had anybody clean my carpet this good! I was talking with friends about the price he quoted me, and they all wanted to know him name. I want to recommend him, and he gets an A Plus, Plus!

The carpet doesn't look brand new -- it is worn in a few places -- but is as clean as if it were.I will definitely be calling Bill again to clean additional rooms in the near future.

Although we've tried to clean it with various products over 20 years, we haven't been able to restore it to anything but "yuck" and were ready to resort to retiling. The second bath has pink tile and grout and also was in need of cleaning. So when we saw the "deal of the day" for grout cleaning and sealing from Howard's, we decided to try it. Now it looks like we have two new floors!Using the "deal" was remarkably simple and convenient...and reasonably priced. We had to change the date and Bill Howard was very accommodating, answering the phone himself when we called. No ridiculous prompts to deal with.Bill and his partner arrived looking professional, were very friendly and got to work without delays. They did a GREAT job, left no debris and the floor is perfect. We are extremely pleased both with the results and the company itself.Bill started "Howards Cleaning Service"4 years ago and has obviously done his homework. Bill gave us a very reasonable quote for carpet cleaning and, when the humidity decreases, we will probably call "Howards" again.

+ 0 moreHoward Steam Cleaning did an excellent job on both my tile and the carpet. The tile grout was stained and looked very bad prior to the work, and looked as good as new when it was finished. He also cleaned up everything and had it looking great before he left. The carpet had stains and smells from pets which were completely gone when the job was done. This is the third time I've used Howard Steam Cleaning and I've been happy with the professional attitude, punctual arrival, and willingness to work around some of my scheduling issues.
Description of Work: Ceramic tile/grout cleaning for approximately 500 square feet of tile (kitchen, sun room, laundry room and bathroom, plus whole house carpet cleaning.

We experienced bright yellow staining on the carpet, in random areas, where this extra cleaning solution was used. The stairs turned out well. The carpet was not left soaking. I would use again but disappointed with the pet issue.

We have roughly a 3000 sq. ft. home and they knocked it out all in one morning. As an accommodation to us, the second visit they made two trips they did the downstairs on one trip and then the second trip they did our upstairs.

We scheduled the cleaning for the next week. He arrived at the time the cleaning was scheduled, worked diligently, and finished the job within a couple hours. The stairs/carpet look excellant! We have nothing but good things to say about Howard's Steam Clean and would definitely recommend them.
