Howard's Cleaning Service

They did a really good job on our entry way. There were some spots that could have used additional treating. As I recall, scheduling was great. They did move some furniture and placed underblocks under the feet of the furniture. The owner did call and follow-up. Their prices were comparable to others.

It turned out really good. I liked them so well that I have used them again. He works really hard and has done a great job each time. He is very honest and I have no complaints with them. They got the job done in a couple of hours. I have had no problems with the scheduling. I would recommended him to anybody, and I also used him for my daughter’s home.

The guys were on time. They were very courteous and professional. They performed the work on my two bathrooms and did a good job.

The guy who came to do the work was really nice and did a good job. However, the grout that I had him clean wasn’t grout, but cement – therefore, it didn’t have the desired effect, unfortunately. He did give me a couple of different options for how to make it look a little better and I will use him in the future.

Provider called an hour before appointment and said his workman could not put his truck in reverse and therefore could not get out of the garage. Provider did offer another date, but I had planned and prepared for the work to be done that day. I ended up having to rent a carpet cleaner and doing the work myself.

I Called Howard's Cleaning Service near the experation date. I was told no problem ,keep the certificate and call them when I'm ready to have my carpet cleaned after my old cat dies. He is blind and misses his litter box at times. Howard's said to wait,no point in cleaning it twice. Thank You Very Much, Dave

That service was great. No troubles there. I waited a little while to have them come out but there was no trouble in scheduling them. They came when I wanted them to and everything went very well. There were not additional costs.

I had scheduled for them to come out but their truck was in the shop and the visit had to be delayed. Then on the scheduled day bad weather hit and it was not safe for them to be out. They were very gracious throughout and made a genuine effort to come on other days-- but my work schedule would not permit.

Howard was punctual and did the job. He didn't say much, but was pleased to show me his work. He cleaned 2 areas; ceramic tile in our basement laundry area looked the same to me before and after it was cleaned, but it didn't look bad to start with. The grout of our slate entryway looked much better after it was cleaned, but the grout between the last few squares of slate leading up to our linoleum kitchen did not get cleaned. I'm guessing this is because there is a lip between the 2 rooms and his cleaning machine was not making contact with the floor. So we have clean grout almost up to the entry way, and then dirty grout for the last couple of squares. I guess this area would need to be done by hand and that was not part of the "Big Deal?" This is the 2nd time I have bought a "Big Deal" from this provider and have been less than happy with the results.

Did an excellent job in less than an hour and were on their way.

I purchased an Angie's List "Big Deal" for $111 for 4 areas of carpet cleaning. I read all reviews before purchasing to make sure people were satisfied with the service. Given the nature of most of the reviews I felt pretty positive about spending the money and giving the company my business. I had a great experience with scheduling and they were very flexible to reschedule my inital appointment due to some conflicts and timing issues I had. On the appointment day he was on time and and very kind. No issues with the professionalism or the way business was handled--in fact it is the one thing that impressed me. As far as the carpet and quality of work goes--I was thoroughly unimpressed, disappointed, and feel as though I wasted my money on the purchase. That said, I have light colored carpet which was pretty stained up due to traffic and pets. My initial thought with my carpet was to just replace it (it is only 4 years old), but after reading reviews of this company and seeing other people state that their very stained carpet ended up looking like new...I thought I would try Howard's out to clean it up before going the expensive route. The cleaning only took about 45 minutes, which shocked me, because when I've cleaned the carpet myself in the past it takes 45 minutes just to do the hallway. I know my equipment is not the same, but still--I was quite surprised. After he left the house and I looked at everything--I was pretty angry. My carpet truly does not look any different than it did before it was cleaned. I know it is cleaner than it was to start with. I am now $111 shorter on cash and no better off than where I started. I was so optimistic about the chances of the carpet actually being cleaned that I suppose I set myself up for this huge disappointment and feeling like I got taken advantage of. I would have assumed that Howard's would know whether or not they could have gotten the carpet clean or not and might have said "Hey I don't think we can take care of this" rather than waste my time and money. I'm not at all happy with the time spent on cleaning my carpet, the results of the cleaning, or the complete disappointment of the whole deal. All I can say that is positive is that scheduling was a breeze, and they are very friendly and easy to work with. If you have lighter colored carpet and are looking to get traffic stains out don't bother with this company as I highly doubt it will do you any good. (I would have at least been more impressed and left a better review had the traffic stains been lifted--I can totally negotiate on the pet stains, as I know they can be hard to deal with...but traffic stains?? I can still see the path up the stairs, through the hall, and around where the beds were in the bedrooms just as much as when I moved all the furniture out to prep for cleaning). All in all, I will never use this company again.

Showed up on time and went right to work with minimal instructions. Very nice and polite worker, Bill, was not bothered by my dog and worked beyond my expectations. He got out spots on my carpet I thought were permanent. |Replaced everything as he found it. I would recommend Howards Cleaning Service to anyone who appreciates good service.

They are very professional and nice guy. He came in the right time and it was easy to make an appointments. The fellows that came in were very personable, they introduced themselves and I didn't feel uncomfortable with them in the house. They came in, got their work done and were gone. My carpet looks brand new.

These company did an excellent job. The service was great and the price very fair. They cleaned out stains that I had for years and thought would never come clean. My 20 year old carpet looks brand new. I highly recommend them.

I purchased a big deal coupon for this company. They were great, it was absolutely fine. I would use them again. There was gentleman that came and he was very professional and very friendly and nice. He was very thorough, an didn't make a mess of anything at all. He was perfectly pleasant and nice.

He was very professional, extremely nice and I loved that he was right on time and did not try to sell us any unnecessary extra services. Our carpets are close to 30 years old and been through quite a lot of traffic with 5 children and several dogs. I think he did a remarkable job and would definitely recommend his company.

Billy and Eric arrived on time, checked out the problem areas and immediately went to work. I have a diabetic pup who has accidents on the carpets quite often and I had the stains to prove it. Billy explained the best way to take care of the stains and then spent the time and took the care to make all the carpets look clean and refreshed. They did a wonderful job, all the while being very friendly and professional. I am very pleased with their work and would recommend them even to my most hard to please friends! I will certainly be calling them back in the future. Great job, guys!

I scheduled the appointment at a time when family was out of town so that it was most convenient to have the carpets cleaned. The day before the appointment they called saying their truck broke down and was being serviced. I asked for another Friday appointment and they did not have one then they were going on vacation so, I scheduled for the first Monday when they got back at 10am. On that Monday around 9am they called saying the truck was still being serviced and it would be closer to noon when they would be out. This is going on 2 weeks that this truck was being serviced. I received another call before noon saying it still wasn't ready, I said, I had already moved all my furniture so I wanted to get the carpet cleaned today, they called back again saying it still wasn't fixed so I gave up and said I want a refund. This was the first time I attempted to use Angie's List for anything. I can understand things happen, but committing to a second scheduled appointment without having your one and only means of completing the job ready and working was unthoughtful and bad business. I made arrangements to work from home on Monday since, I couldn't get the Friday appointment that I had in the first place, I moved all the furniture because, I am able to plan appropriately so that I was ready for my scheduled appointment and what do I get, I get to move all the furniture back. My frustration level with this whole process is so high, to have paid for something in advance and have this go so poorly, I won't be taken advantage of like this again. Just refund my money.

see above comments . I had to ask the provider to stop using the pretreatment as it was making me nauseated. The providor failed to clean behind doors and failed to clean up to the baseboard Very slap dash service Will do my best to avoid them in future and felt the big dealk a big waste of money

I was very pleased with the services from Howards Cleaning. The carpets looked great, and the furniture turned out better than I hoped. :)

They were very good. It was the owner that was doing the job and he was very professional and informative of different stains and different things that I can do to help keep my carpet in better shape. He was great.

We called Mr. Howard after we purchased a home that had a few rooms where the carpets were heavily stained. We asked if the carpets needed to be replaced, thinking there was no way the stains could be removed, and Mr. Howard assured us he could make the carpets look brand new. He arrived on time for the cleaning and both himself and his employee were very friendly and respectful. The carpet cleaning did take almost twice as long as he thought but he never asked for any additional money. The end result was truly amazing as he delivered on his promise to make the carpets look brand new. We plan to use him again and are recommending him to all of our friends and neighbors.
