Description of Work: I had several small jobs in my mother's dilapidated home after she moved out. When the handyman and I spoke on the phone, we agreed on the day and time and he arrived on time. He did the first and most obvious job - repairing a big hole in the ceiling drywall. It seemed to take a longer time than I expected. During one trip past me into the house, my toy poodle apparently nipped his ankle without breaking the skin. He immediately wanted some peroxide which I did not have. I also wondered if he had indeed been bitten since there was no mark on his ankle. The next job was completed - moving some furniture which required both of us to do. No problems there. Then, when I needed help moving very dusty boxes and general garbage outside - my parents were hoarders - he sneezed, I offered a dust mask, he said he was allergic to dust, did a bit more garbage moving, was obviously not happy to do the work - I was also working moving the boxes and sweaty and sneezing - and I said he had done enough and could leave. He was there all of three hours, not the eight I thought I had paid for. I also suspected/worried he would say my dog bit him and sue me!!! It seemed to be misunderstanding all around and I did not want to start any negative interaction with him since he knows the house is empty. He did two jobs which would have taken about two hours, and was not interested in the third job which I expected to take three hours. (It took me five hours to finish it alone.) I told him to go to keep him happy, but I wasn't happy paying for eight hours and getting three. I learned to ask more specific questions, make more specific requests before the job starts and not to expect people I pay to do work to do as much as I can do. (I am 63, a retired high school teacher, not particularly strong, and on a slim budget to get the house ready.)

Description of Work: Bought a Big Deal for Plumbing. Mr. Heitmeyer sprayed WD40 on a faucet that would no longer rotate. A few weeks later we had it replaced by another plumber, as that was what was needed. I also had a leaky faucet in the bathtub. He said he couldn't work on that because the main water shut off was broken and needed "a plumber" to fix it. That is what I bought a Big Deal for-plumbing. He told to call after the plumber fixed the main shut off and he;d come back and fix the leaky faucet. I paid for a plumbing big deal-and he told me to get a plumber!

Description of Work: I waited to call after buying the handyman for the day because they said it would be really busy at first. I called 9/5/12 and was asked to send an email with a detailed list of what I needed done, which I did the next day. I heard nothing, so resent the email in a couple of days. I got an email saying they had gotten my email, then nothing. I emailed again on 9/30. I heard nothing. I finally contacted Angie's List, who contacted the company. The company finally contacted me again, but by that time I had lost confidence in the company and requested a refund, which I recently received.

Description of Work: He was on the sight as a Handiman that was supposed to be 1/2 price. The 1/2 price was $35 a hour which I think is high.'' He hung some blinds for me. He evidently did not know how to do it and figured it out on my time. He came twice and was supposed to be there 8 hours. He did not stay the 8 Hours either day.

Description of Work: I wrote a review and sent it to you shortly after he was here. He left after about 1 1/2 hrs. and I asked him if there shouldn't be more caulking in the areas he did but he said "no"' only thin caulking is done. He then asked me for $20.00 to cover the cost of the supplies but I said it stated in the advertisement that supplies were included in the price. He then asked for money to cover the gas he used in his vehicle. I gave him an extra $10.00. There were large amounts of caulk in the tubs he worked around and on the floors. I didn't discover this immediately but was shocked when I saw how sloppy the work was. Since I never heard anything back when I first sent my comments I had given up ever hearing from you. to make myself clear, I thought the work was inferior, and messy. I wonder how he ever made Angie's list and have second thoughts about using other vendors.

Description of Work: The service was purchased in may. I promptly called after getting the big deal. The owner informed me he had obtained a lot of work and would be getting back to me at the end of the week, that never happened. After a month or so had elapsed I was ready to have work done, I am very patient when someone tells me they are going to get back with me unfortunately, I needed work performed on my roof so when I called for a refund and Erin reached out to the owner again gutter tech was friendly and he informed me he would be out at the end of the week and I would know they have been there because there would be a not on my door. After 2 more weeks went by I decided to cancel and go with another company whom has actually performed work on my parents' house, which is another Angie's lister.

Description of Work: Gutter Tech installed gutter tops to prevent annual cleaning. After many comparisons we knew Mike had the best product and price. He also does a great job in the handyman department.
