Job not completed and work that was done was poor quality.
Description of Work: Contracted for bathroom remodel. Did not complete job and refused to come back. Improper plumbing resulted in damage to ceiling which was not repaired.

Even though it looks like quality work, a look behind the scenes showed that a lot of work was not finished or done improperly.
Description of Work: Hauser Construction did a major addition.

As I assume is true in any construction, unforeseen events caused work delays. The concrete company sub-contracted to create the stamped concrete sidewalk and front porch did a poor job. Similarly, that company made a mess of the foundation for the master bath addition. And finally, that company installed EFIS on the addition (since Hauser couldn't find bricks to match the existing house). The cleanup was non-existent (window wells have hardened drips on them) and finish work not done (could look between the end of the brick and beginning of EFIS and see the framing studs exposed!). In addition, the concrete company owner met with me and assured me that the color of the EFIS/stucco would match the yellow brick color exactly--it is not even close! It is barely off-white, so it looks extremely different from the rest of the house. And barely 4 years later, it is cracking. Hauser was distracted with other work and didn't show up every day. The work seemed to be good quality and I mostly like the way it looks. However, there are a number of things that remain unresolved even today. No sump pump was installed in the crawlspace and I get water in there--leading to pill bugs and such in my bathroom. The final inspection by the county inspector's office was never scheduled by Hauser. Both the inspector and I have tried to get Hauser to get this done, but he has not responded. By now the electrical and plumbing permits have expired and will have to be requested/purchased again--so I will be out of pocket for something I already paid for. Recently, I contacted insulation companies to get estimates and learned that some of the work was sloppy or incomplete: bathroom vent goes to attic rather than outside; insulation was pushed away from new can lights but the insulation was not replaced; etc. Additional circuits (?) were added to the electrical box; the drywall around it was cut away for access. That drywall has not been replaced. It looks like I will have to hire a home inspector to develop a detailed punch list, so that I can hire skilled electricians/plumbers/etc. to do/re-do the work to get up to code--so that I can pay for permits and finally get the county inspection completed. I really like the Hauser Construction people, but after more than a year of trying to get issues addressed, "niceness" won't cut it! I have paid for a lot of work that has not been done or done poorly, and enough is enough. I will not hire this company again--which is not likely anyway since my emails and phone calls are ignored!
Description of Work: I can't remember the exact amount paid, it was so long ago! Hauser acted as a general contractor to add a porch and master bathroom to the house, from plans by an architect.

He was very professional and easy to work with. Made sure that everything was to our expectation. There was a problem with the tile arriving on time and to keep up on schedule he drove to Dayton and Columbus to pick up the tile. He did a fabulous job. I will use him again.
Description of Work: They remodeled a bathroom.

TODD IS PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONABLE. HE COMMUNICATES STATUS WELL, AND SCHEDULES WORK WITH SUFFICIENT NOTICE. THE CONVERSION REQUIRED REMOVAL OF THE DRYER'S GAS LINE, AS WELL AS THE 220 OUTLET; THE UTILITY TUB WAS ALSO REMOVED. TODD THEN FRAMED THE 4' SHOWER, WHICH CREATED AN ALCOVE FOR THE TOILET. HE WORKED WITH ME TO CHOOSE THE TILE, FLOORING, VANITY, ETC., AND KEPT ME INFORMED AS TO DELIVERY DATES OF THESE ITEMS. THE WORK IS ALMOST COMPLETE, AND THE ROOM LOOKS FANTASTIC! NOT AN UGLY LAUNDRY ROOM ANY LONGER!
Description of Work: CONVERTED A LAUNDRY ROOM (THAT HAD A TOILET) TO A 3/4 BATH.
