I was billed incorrectly by a credit card company. I phoned the CC co.and was told by a snot-nosed woman I would have to take it up with the bank (Guardian Savings.) Can we all says lets blame the other guy? Went to the bank only to be told that the autopay via the card company had not hit my account yet so there was nothing to dispute. I was also told by Erika, teller at the Tri-County branch, that once the charge hit the checking acct. I could dispute it. In the meantime, I came home, called the CC co. for a 2nd time; still to no avail. Went back to bank today only to be told there's still nothing they could do for me, yet I went to Erika's window again only to be told they could neither help me nor waive any fees, despite the fact none of this was my fault. During this visit the nosey and micro-manager of the branch, whose name I don't remember, refused to help. Prior to going to the branch I called the 513-842-7601 number for Guardian and had the misfortune of talking to the same witch, Kathy (Sp?) with whom I've spoken before. She was nasty in the past and was nasty today, 7/17/2014. Bottom line, I leaned on the CC Co. who finally took care of me, offering to waive the fees that Guardian wouldn't waive. So much for customer service. After next billing cycle I'm outta there and am going back to my previous bank. What a shame I was given erroneous information by Erika, was talked down to by two loud mouths - Kathy and the branch mgr. and have to leave that bank because of HORRIBLE customer svc. Bye-bye Guardian.

I wanted to refinance my house, but I had not been working at my new job long enough. I was assisted in being prepared for a time when I can come back to them and refinance. Very happy with Scott Hagerty.

Great experience. Old school service. Quick, efficient, inexpensive. No hoops like the larger banks. Truely $250 to close. Incredible experience!

We contacted a number of mortgage companies, including Quicken Loans, Churchill Mortgage (recommended by Dave Ramsey), and a couple local ones recommended by Angie's List. Guardian Savings Bank responded quickly, and was always solid with quick responses, and they did not have gimmicks like Quicken Loans. Their closing costs were very reasonable and they offered interested rates that others couldn't beat. They were very good to work with, and I would consider them again if I ever need a loan.

Seth Howard did a great job of explaining the process and delivered on everything that he said he would do. The entire process went smoothly, no surprises.

I have been using Guardian Savings Bank since 7/2000 for the first loan on my home. The closing costs have always been low and I love the fact that refinancing over the years has only cost me $250. This last time in 2009 I refinanced from a 30yr fixed to a 15yr fixed and I've probably refinanced my original loan 3 or 4 times for lower rates. Every time has been done quickly and accurately. It's always been a pleasure working with Darlene Waggoner. While they reserve the right to sell your loan they have never sold mine to another company. A friend has also used them and their loan was never sold either. I like that about them and consider it a plus.

Wanted to take advantage of low closing costs to reduce my mortgage rate. Already had a good rate, but this was an opportunity to take a little off the payment at no cost to me. Didn't make a lot off of this, but got back the closing costs in the loan and improved my terms (a little.) It was win-win, I think. My bank chose not to match the terms. Won't take an electronic transfer from my bank, so I had to do an automatic withdrawl or return to checks after a close call from my bank not getting the check to them in what I felt was a timely manner, but this is OK. Weren't always the best at getting papers to the people doing the closing. I actually deliverd some papers that they didn't seem to be on top of, but they weren't incompetent either. I was happy enough. They got a pretty minimal fee, so I didn't expect a lot. Closing costs (including appraisal) were a bit higher than I thought from the advertisement, but not to any great degree (maybe $400 versus the $250 on their sign,) and I knew this from my first meeting with them. Besides, I still got back more than I gave. When they did make a (minor) mistake on an arrangement with my lender, they stepped up and corrected it. I was OK with them. I wasn't paying top dollar and didn't get top dollar service. I did get effective enough service and got the terms I wanted. I was happy with what they did.

First, you can't beat their $250 closing costs when you refinance a mortgage. That's what my wife and I did in Feb. 2009 at the Guardian Savings Bank in Ft. Wright. Michelle Profant was our loan officer and she was great. I had a million questions and she answered them all without making me feel stupid. Everything went smoothly and I got a much better interest rate.
