+ -1 moreThe old and overgrown front bed across the front of my house was unsightly and detracted from my attractive ranch home. A few existing shrubs and ground cover that were in good condition and appropriate for the site were retained. The new design fits into the scheme of an existing adjacent flower bed. Groundworks provided options along the way so that my preferences were incorporated into the new plan. . Groundworks was thereto oversee the contractor in every step to completion of the project. I rate them excellent in price, quality, responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism. Without any hesitation I recommend it for any landscaping project. The street view of my house is very much improved as a result.
Description of Work: The flower bed across the front of my house was old and overgrown. Groundworks designed a new front bed with new plants.

+ -1 moreSharon is a meticulous designer and project manager who developed detailed project plans and discussed them thoroughly with us, making adjustments where needed. She spent a lot of time working with us to make sure we were getting what we wanted. This was important because we had definite ideas about what we wanted the result to look like and in some cases limitations to our property constrained landscaping and stormwater control options. Sharon kept a tight rein on the costs and schedules of the contractors. Sharon showed both her creative talents - in her overall design and in plant selection, along with her technical knowledge and skills - in creating an implementable garden structure. All this was delivered within a reasonable budget and timeframe. We are quite pleased with the results.
Description of Work: Sharon Floro was the landscape architect on a $40,000+ project at our home. Our house sits on a gentle slope that bisects the property and as a result we have had problems with stormwater runoff. Also, part of the property is shaded and we wanted to turn the lawn in the shaded parts into planted areas. Sharon was responsible for designing the project to capture and control the runoff and enhance the beauty of the property, and for managing the 2 landscape firms and a pavement firm that did the work. The design for stormwater control included 3 interconnected rain gardens. The work was done over a period of about 10 months (from start of design to completion of the rain gardens).

+ -1 moreFantastic! The landscape is completely transformed with native plants, which Sharon favors. She was able to include my old favorites which I couldn't part with, too. Very cost conscious in her plant selections. Very attentive to our desires. The plan solved so many problems and made maintenance a breeze. Sharon was here most days the installation occurred, placing plants and supervising the work and getting the contractor to do that little bit more for us. It's a pleasure to look outside now. Worth every penny.
Description of Work: Sharon visited our property, asked about our desires for the landscape and problems we had. She made extra visits for measurements, then drew up a landscape plan for our difficult site. She helped us find a great landscape contractor when others were reluctant to tackle the job and supervised his work closely. She comes around now to check on the installation and will continue to do so through the springtime. Very thorough and knowledgeable landscape designer, so easy to work with. Very down-to-earth.
