 + -1 moreI lost the internet connection to my laptop on a Friday afternoon. After confirming that it was not the WiFi provider, I checked and saw that the network adapter was down. I called RJ the next morning and he called back within fifteen minutes. After discussing the problem with him, he came over about an hour later. He adjusted some settings and it appeared as though the connection was restored but when no signal was being received, he said there were clearly other problems and he took the laptop with him. He left a message that evening but I wasn't able to reach him until Sunday evening. He told me the problem and that he was running tests and checks, once the infected programs were removed. I got my computer back on a Tuesday afternoon (would have been sooner but we had conflicts). Had I taken it anywhere else, it would have been a lot longer and probably at a higher cost. RJ was great at getting back to me and he even dealt with an issue on my husband's cpu at no additional charge. He told us what to loo for in terms of potential problems. RJ was thoroughly professional, answered all of our questions, and is easy to work with.

 + -1 moreAfter finding Generation 3 on Angies List, I immediately contacted him thru e-mail. Within a very short time he called me on my home phone. His company isn't too far from my house, so an appointment was made for that very afternoon. He was on time & immediately went to work throughly cleaning up my PC of several viruses. He added a couple of things to my computer to make it a little safer from future viruses. There were some upgrades & changes that were available to me. He explained each of them to me so that I could make a more educated decision on my own. NO pressure ever from the technician! Very professional !
Description of Work: R J cleared my PC of several viruses. He also deleted alot of unnecessary programs that was slowing my computer down drastically. All the while explaining what he was doing. And getting approval from me before he deleted anything.

 + -1 moreSee above: The home build Home Theatre PC had worked fine until a Windows upgrade took the USB controller offline. Personal efforts to research and remedy the problem became too time consuming and their was a possibility that more damage would be done through my efforts. Generation 3 PC and Laptop Repair was able to evaluate the problem and arrive at a suitable fix in less than 24 hours. What more can you say other than "A Job Well Done".
Description of Work: Having just recovered from a "Critical Drive" situation with the computer's Logical RAID1 setup (14 days waiting for the warranty replacement drive and 2 days rebuilding the RAID1 and drive syncronization), I decided to tackle the problem of the USB 3.0 controller not found issue. After two more days of searching the web for answers and finding no immediate resolution, I decided to search the local area for some IT support and found Generation 3 PC & Laptop Repair. I called and left a message and the call was returned within 30 min. I did a Mapquest for directions and delivered the HTPC to R.J Denicola III as previously discussed. We discussed the missing USB controller issue and I left my work notes, software and hardware. He explained the Work Order Agreement & Disclosure which I signed and he indicated that he was currently working on a unit but should be able to begin on my computer the next day. Less than 24 hours passed when R.J called with good news that he was able to find the problem and had to edit the REGISTRY in order to load the updated USB controller firmware and driver. The devise manager was happy and I was happy. He even offered to drop the unit off at my home saving me another trip. Could you ask for more service.

 + -1 moreSimple called because I was having issues. Spoke with Rj and he helped me figure out the right way to go forward. He even came to my home and picked up the computer. Before any charge was given or he did anything he called me to let me know the issue and how much the solutions would cost. Honestly I was expecting almost double the prices considering past experiences. After a day he had the laptop back in working order running faster than when we bought it.
Description of Work: Data recovery, hardware Repair and software performance increased.
