I have a house that was built in 1909 and there are several large trees growing near the house. For many years I have had a problem with tree roots growing in and stopping up my sewer pipe. I have been putting RootX root killer into the toilet in my basement in the hope that I could prevent future blockage of the pipe. I talked with Terry Gellenbeck at The Geiler Company Home Services this month about my problem and I am very pleased with the advice that he gave me about a better method of keeping my sewer pipe clear of roots for as long as possible. In addition, he gave me a very good price for the work. Matt Floyd of Geiler did the job. He arrived on time and completed the work effectively and efficiently. I was expecting to have a big mess and a lot of water on my basement floor caused by the removal of the toilet, but Matt was meticulous--no mess and not one drop of water on the floor. He augered the pipe and got out a good sized cluster of tree roots. He then put a camera down the pipe to show me the condition of the pipe. He poured RootX and the water it needs to work into the opening for me. He replaced the toilet with a plug and cover that I can remove with little trouble, giving me a better method of pouring RootX into the pipe than pouring it down the toilet. (As soon as water hits the RootX powder, there is an explosion of foam, which is what coats the pipe and kills the roots.) Matt gave me a great recommendation for monitoring and cleaning the pipe to r***** the regrowth of roots and keeping the pipe open as long as possible. I couldn't be more pleased with Terry's advice and Matt's work. I am going to call The Geiler Company for all my future plumping needs and they have my highest recommendation.

They did a good job. I've used them for years. I think they are probably a little more expensive than some people that I could hire but I've been satisfied with their works. Their repair people have always been polite and able to diagnose things pretty quickly.

they came to do a routine AC tune up (what they knew). actually, I had been told by another company that had recently installed my furnace that my relatively new (6 yr old) very expensive Lennox AC was a mess waiting to happen and needed replacing of most of the innards -- compressor, outdoor motor & indoor AC coil -- (>>$2000 WITH my 10 year warranty) or replacement of the entire unit (>$3000). I was shocked & angry that a unit i had literally not one minute of problem with before was seemingly suddenly useless.... Since the AC still seemed to be working, I called Lennox (angry) and they suggested I get a 2nd blind opinion from another company. A friend recommended Geiler after many years of experience w them. Geiler responded and quickly made an appointment for me. Dennis (technician) determined that the interior AC coil had completely frozen BECAUSE the furnace had been installed incorrectly!!! he thawed the unit out, fixed all the dip switches that hadn't been properly set, called & confirmed the settings w my furnace manufacturer, and checked the rest of the unit -- all fine!! Now it's working & running like a dream!! Cost me $330 instead of the tune-up cost of $79 and WORTH EVERY PENNY!! the technician was polite, professional, and competent to do his job!! He pointed out 3 more issues w the furnace installation which he told me were not in immediate need of fixing but just poor workmanship. I may have him return another time to fix them & he says that the fixes should not be expensive. Needless to say, I'm done w the other company! Extremely happy & highly recommend this company!!

For anyone considering doing business with the Geiler Company, I just have to post a comment as you consider your decision as a consumer who to do business with. Last week, the Radon Reduction System's PVC Pipe that Geiler installed a few years back fell off the side of the house and into a tree of mine. Granted there was a bit of wind involved in the PVC pipe coming unlogeded. Upon inspection of how the PVC was secured to the house, Geiler secured a 19 ft long section of 3 inch PVC to my house with a single wire tie. When I informed Mr Geiler that my expectation that this would be fixed at no cost to me due to the poor install, he decided to cancel the appointment. That is certainly his call as a business owner. I'll get the PVC fixed myself but would suggest that a single piece of wire tie is not exactly they way to secure a 19 ft piece of PVC to the side of a house. Its unfortunate that Mr Geiler has choosen not to have at least come and seen the work for himself. As a consumer, I get the privledge of sharing my experiences and letting other people decide for themselves who they want to do business with. I called at 10:30am letting them know that I needed my toilet fixed...and I have only one toilet, so as soon as possible was best. They didn't have any appointments available for today but put me on a list in the event that a plumber became available after finishing a job early. Within the hour, I received a call that a plumber finished a job in West Chester and was on his way to my house. He arrived within an hour of the phone call. He cleared the backed up toilet within 20 minutes. He was professional, efficient and neat. He left the bathroom as clean as he found it, and there was no evidence that anyone had been working in there.

The company did an excellent job working with us to decide on the most cost effective solution. He was professional, prompt and worked in a timely manner. We would definitely use Geiler again for our AC/Heater needs.

Dennis, my technician from the first visit was GREAT, super professional and had a coupon with him that he allowed me to use for that day's visit. During my emergency call on the second visit in November 2011, they were very responsive and helpful, but their estimate was much higher than I was comfortable with. I don't dispute the estimate in any way. I just think that it was higher than I expected (my own expectations that I am accountable for) due to the necessary ductwork and drainage work that would be required.

very well. I had called geiler and later emailed them my property inspection report containing these items. Terry immediately emailed me back a quote. Once I closed on the property I called to schedule the work and was able to get someone out there the same day. The repairman was courteous and professional. The final price turned out to be less than the initial quote. I would use geiler again.

It was a small job. They seem to be very thorough. They bill on an hourly rate. They didn't just run in and run out. He inspected everything and that was good to see. They did everything they said they were going to do. I would definitely use them in the future.

I?ve always had an easy time getting scheduled with them and I really like that. The turnaround time is generally very quick but I don?t feel like I?m getting the runaround. I've never had them come in to fix something then had to call them back because it wasn't fixed properly.

They came very promptly on a very hot day. Their quality of work has been good and they always try to come as soon as possible even when it is not the regular working hours. They are knowledgeable and know what they are doing. I think they are a little expensive, but, their work is very good.

Clatter and noise about 3am, heat goes out. I called Geiler at 8am they said there were other people without heat. We had emergency heat. I persuaded them to come that day. They replaced the unit in 3-4 days. A bit turned off because they were the last ones to service this system. Installation went well.

They are very reasonable on their prices. I like them because they are always punctual. They are ok. They are very professional and polite. They call ahead and remind us that its time for there service.

Frank did a great job as usual. You can always spot the professionals by the quality of work that they do. The solder joints on the copper pipe are neat and clean. The pipes themselves are supported by PVC clamps that hold them firmly in place. Frank showed up on time and completed the entire job the next day. It would have taken me at least a week to do it myself. Although Geiler is not the least expensive around, I always get a quality, professional installation that keeps me coming back time and again.

I am extremely disappointed. We scheduled the appointment for between 2 and 4 on Friday afternoon (had it scheduled for a week). My wife took the afternoon off of work to be home. No one called or showed up at 4, so she called the company and the person was pretty rude and told her it would not be until about 4:45 and then hung up on her. At 5:00 the repairman called and said he was on the way. He asked for directions from Mt.Zion in Kentucky. It would take another 45 minutes to get to our house from there. Then when my wife asked how long the repair would take he told her 2 hours. We had 7pm plans. So, we had to cancel. If they would have called at 2 and said they were running late I would not have been as disappointed. Good Customer Service always starts with communication. Geiler failed. We have since called another plumber who is coming out right away.

Wonderful! Frank came out when scheduled and did the work himself. He had to get a jackhammer out to bust up some rocks that were in his way. I had Geiler install the discharge line several years ago in preparation for the sump pump so there wasn't much else for him to do. Frank did a great job and I'm always impressed by the neatness and professional installation that he does. He was 1/2 of the team that did some drain re-routing in my basement and did a great job then, too. The sump pump was a better than home center quality. I'm happy to pay a little extra for quality equipment. The Geiler team are real professionals and do excellent quality work. They may not be the cheapest but they do provide the best value! I don't even call anyone else. Geiler is always my first choice.

Performed work and adjustments as requested, project went as expected. Very satisfied with the results.

We have been using Geiler for about five years to do routine servicing on our A/C and furnace (under an annual service contract). Our A/C went out on a Friday night and we called them. Originally the person we spoke with acted like we would be charged extra for the service call (even though we were under contract with them). Then when I called back he said he could come out but he might not have the part. When he arrived, he announced our A/C compressor seal was blown and we would need a new unit but they could do nothing until Monday. He also told us we should get a new furnace because ours is "really old." The service manager arrived on Monday and determined that the real problem was a faulty capacitor, which he replaced and in ten minutes had it up and running. I was disappointed with the "emergency" technician sent on Friday evening however. We asked for quotes for a new A/C and furnace. I received a quote for a new A/C but after 3 voice mails & 3 weeks no quote for a furnace

The rep. was polite and considerate, and took the video of our sewer line. When we got the video to MSD, they told us that we needed the actual markings on the sewer line. When I asked Mr. Gellenbeck why it was not on the video, we were told that 99% of the time nobody needs it, and they had no idea what the client did with the video after they took it. They only have one camera that does that kind of work, and it has been in repair for over a year, even though they originally told me they had many cameras. Members should know that you have responsibility for lines on your property. You have to ask them to mark footage if it is going to be reviewed. You have to ask specifically ask to have your line marked as well. The Metropolitan Sewer District will only be concerned with what is from your property line to the main. From your house to the street however is your responsibility. (Could not grade quality because of no frame of reference.)

After using this company previously based on Angie's recommendations I did not hesitate to use them again for further work that was needed. I contacted them when a housing inspection stated that we needed a new sump pump and that our toilets were not secured properly. Frank the serviceman came out, was very punctual, and took a look at the situation. He told me that the sump pump was not working at all but that there was nothing wrong with the toilets. I appreciated his honesty and was pleased with the work that he did need to do.
