It was a Sunday so it cost a lot because it was overtime. They were fine and I would call them back.

The technician they sent out was not very good but as soon as I requested some one else they sent the new technician out and he did a great job.

The appointment was never scheduled and the provider never provided the services.

The service went very well. The technician was professional and courteous. I was very please with this service and company.

s will not hurt the compressorso it got detached. One wire was either not screwed in or not screwed in tight. This caused the compressor to work in-efficiently and with a lot of noise. The work,am came back the next evening after the Company was notified and he quickly fixed the problem by screwing in the loose wire of the oower line. According to the workman, this will not hurt the compressor but for nearly 20 hours, the compressor worked under strain with strange noises.

Great. They did it all in one day.

They did a great job. They are cheaper. I asked them to come out for another job but they did not show up so i ended up going with another company. They are excellent.

I?m evaluating Geiler based on two interactions here, because the two are connected. Here it goes: 1- I bought my current home in late spring 2013. The home inspector mentioned that it looked like the A/C unit was not working properly. So I called Geiler to come and do a more thorough diagnosis (Geiler was very strongly recommended by the realty- Sibcy Cline). The guy from Geiler came, did some tests and gave the A/C a totally clean bill of health. When I told him what the home inspector had said, he even shook his head and smiled a bit. Long story short, I didn?t end up moving nto the house until late fall, so the A/C got very little use last year (maybe 30 hours at most). 2- Fast forward to about three weeks ago, when I turned on the A/C for the first time this year, and the inside of the house just wasn?t feeling as cool as it should, so I called Geiler again to service the A/C and furnace and see if anything was wrong. So, this guy shows up (on time, to be fair), walks into the house and drags all kinds of dirt in with him (the Geiler plumbing guys always put these surgical-looking things on their shoes to avoid that, so this seemed a little strange). After $300 worth of tinkering with the A/C (again, to be fair, about half was for a new dose of refrigerant), the guy told me he was sorry to give me bad news but I was probably going to need a new A/C unit next year, or maybe even as early as the end of this summer. So, to summarize, Geiler comes in May 2013 to look at my A/C and tells me everything looks fine, no problem, nothing to be done, and then, in June 2014, after hardly having used the A/C in that 12-month period, Geiler again comes and tells me my A/C is as good as garbage. Also, they were nice enough to give me an estimate on a new unit, ?just so I knew.? I?d have more respect for them if they had told me the A/C was bad the first time and offered me a good deal on a new one. At best, what happened here was incompetence, at worst, well, who knows. I?m only giving them a D because the house is cool now. This is an update to the review: The second time Geiler came (a couple of days ago), the guy said he wanted to check the thermostat and needed to slip the cover off. I was standing right there and he couldn't figure out how to do this. He then left that alone and proceeded to do what I described above. A few minutes ago, I went to turn the A/C on and noticed one of the screws that were used to attach the thermostat to the wall has been yanked out of the wall. So, now I need to figure out what to do about that (the thermostat is very loose). It is unfortunate that I didn't think to check that while the guy was here. By the way, I was able to figure out how to slip the cover off in about a minute. Not to put too fine a point on it, but, if you make your living fixing ACs, I would think you would know how to take the cover off a thermostat (?).

I was told when trying to schedule the service that it would be into July before they could come out to my house. Since I am not able to use my air conditioner and it is getting very hot and humid, this was not acceptable, so I have to cancel.

On Sunday evening our system was not blowing any cold air into our home. I called Geiler on Monday, and as we were at the beginning of a heat wave featuring 90 + degree temperatures, they were very busy. However, they were able to schedule a service call for Tuesday between 10 AM and noon. Tim came within the appointed window, diagnosed the problem and replaced a faulty capacitor quickly, and, because the repair went quickly, was able to perform the AC tune-up that we had scheduled for next week. I am very pleased with Tim's professionalism and the quality of his work.

it was just ok. the entire inspection lasted maybe 15 or 20 minutes. basically he wrote up some estimates for work he recommended and then left. i guess it was okay. i just expected a little more as i could have told him upon arrival the two faucets where i had leaks.

I purchased an A/C tune-up via Angie's List. Using the Angie's List message service I was able to coordinate with "Terry G." and eventually get an appointment set up via telephone. A few days later a technician from Geiler came out and inspected my home's HVAC system. He found that my system was "over-charged" and vented some of the refrigerant to get certain parameters back in range. I mentioned that my compressor occasionally stayed on even though the central fan turned off. The technician found that my contactor relay was a bit "pitted" and offered to replace it for $180 (part + labor). Fortunately he had the relay in his van. He removed and replaced the part in 15-20 minutes. Once I realized how simple a task it was, I commented that the part must be pretty expensive, to which he replied "everything is expensive in HVAC". Feeling like I might have been taken advantage of, I later shopped the part online and found it to be readily available for around $15. I finally decided to send a message to Geiler via Angie's List, asking them to review my bill. It has been 6 days and I have not received a response from Geiler on this matter. Additionally, I have come to find that this part is often carried by HVAC techs since they tend to wear out and need replacement. I would understand being billed that much if he had to order the part and come back out to install it, but this was certainly not the case.

It went fine. The technician was courteous and professional. He installed the gas line and waited to make sure the stove was hooked up correctly and that it lighted.

The work was done on the day and time promised and very thorough plus neat about putting everything back where they found it in addition to work done on the A/C system. Liked the service so well am calling them back in the fall to maintenance my heating furnace too!

Very good - nothing unexpected and we can rest easy knowing our sump pump is in good shape.

The technician was on time, clean and courteous, efficient and had no problem honoring the deal.

This is the first Sump Pump we ever had and didn't know anything about them. Purchased the "Angie's List Big Deal" since the house is over 8 yrs. old and had never been checked. Initial contact with the Geiler Co. was very prompt and professional. Jose' arrived and got to work immediately. He explained to my sister and me that the pump wasn't working now and he doubted it ever had. He said we needed to replaced the pump and explained why. Fortunately we didn't have any water in the basement so far but, there was the distinct possibility of future problems. He also noticed a small drip from the hot water heater. We were aware of this but, since it was periodic we didn't think it was a big problem. Jose' said if a part in the water heater wasn't replaced it could result in serious problems down the road. He said if we couldn't handle both repairs at the same time his advice was to repair the water heater first. For a few days after the repairs we noticed the Sump Pump ran rather regularly. My sister called Terry at Geilers and he said it was normal but suggested she talk to Jose' since he knew what work he did. Both men treated her call professionally, and answered her questions completely. Overall we were very satisfied with our experience.

He repaired a leaky second floor toilet but the repair was not adequate. When asked to come back he did and then commented that he considered when he had left that the secondary leak might have been likely to occur. He made good on the secondary repair but it is disappointing that if he identified the issue on his first visit why wouldn't he have made the repair and save himself the possibility of the second trip.?

All went well. The company was competitive and response was as soon as I committed. Dennis put in the system neatly, showed me it worked, and how to care for the battery. It is quiet and smaller than what I had.

Dennis, the technician, explained that the battery could not be repaired so I had to decide on the backup system. We discussed the age of the sump pump so I decided to check before committing to a total system.

My initial contact was cordial I mentioned Angie's List and the $20 off a service call and was given an appointment between 12:00-2:00. I told the scheduler that my morning that day was busy and I wasn't available until noon. I was called at 10:30 the morning of the appt and was asked if the service tech could come early. I was not available until 12:00 and relayed the info, the curt response I got was "Well, okay then." The service tech showed up at 3:50. I had contact with the scheduler previous to his arrival and was met again with disdain and was left with the feeling that I was stuck in my predicament and they had me. The tech spent 2 hours at my house and spent most of the time on the phone as he had no idea how to fix my furnace. He then said he thought it could be a couple of different things but he didn't have any of the parts needed. He handed me a bill for the service call. I mentioned the Angie's list discount and was told essentially that the discount only counted for work performed and since he didn't do anything but a lot of guess work, I would be paying for the service call which I reluctantly did. He then said someone would contact me from Geiler in the next few days. 4 days later, I called Geiler. I was given an apt for 2 days later. This time the tech showed up on time and seemed to know what he was doing. He spent 2 hours at my house and installed a control board and said I needed 3 additional parts which he could get at a local supply house. He left and was gone an hour, he returned with 2 of the 3 parts and installed them, he put them in and said he could order the 3rd and install it, but it would require another service call and labor. I again reluctantly agreed. At least this man was cordial, caring and knowledgeable. He returned the next day and replaced the part. Were it not for this technician I would never do business with Geiler again. Should I need them again, I will only ask for Jose. He is a true professional.

Very prompt and curteous service, installer was professional and workspace was protected and remained clean. Would definitely use again.

The home I was purchasing had a radon concentration of 4.4 pCi/l. Having someone who passed away with lung cancer in my family, I took this very seriously. I let Geijer know that I wouldn't be comfortable if they were only able to lower it to 3.9. The person I spoke with was incredibly rude and mean from that point on. At several points called my concerns ridiculous and even told us to "get out of the housing market" at one point because all houses have radon. I understood that, but didn't think my expectations for lowering it more than a tiny fraction were unreasonable. He on multiple occasions apologized for his rude comments and from that point on I wanted nothing to do with this company. I'd had other competitors guarantee their work to bring the levels down below a certain level or they'd come out and fix it otherwise I'd get my money back. The buyer insisted going with Geijer and despite my hesitation I went ahead with it to speed things along. Customer service aside, they did a good job with installing the radon mitigation system. They brought the 4.4 level down to 1.3 pCi/l which is what I'm comfortable with. There's a meter down there that measures the level and I've yet to see it go over 2.0. I'm happy with the results, but would not recommend them because of their customer service.

We can always count on Geiler's to come as soon as possible, to diagnose the problem and be able to repair it efficiently. In addition, although they never do unnecessary repairs, they are alert to potential problems and thus alert homeowners to ways to avert future problems.
