Description of Work: I am writing on behalf of my 84 year-old Mother who was scammed. She went to this store to buy a chair. After ordering it, the saleswoman asked about her back because she has trouble walking due to severe arthritis, osteoporosis, and other health problems. Lo and behold, the saleswoman had suffered from the same back pains! She told Mom her pain miraculously vanished after purchasing a certain Ethan Allen mattress. She had my Mom lie on the showroom bed and talked her into purchasing one, along with the chair. The mattress cost at least 2000.00 and the chair was approximately 4000.00, which she paid in full on the spot. This took place last winter, 2012. Mom was confused and ordered a queen size instead of the full size, which she needed. When it was delivered, the queen mattress hung over the full box spring and bed frame. Mom realized the error and told the delivery man to take it back. The delivery guys said for her to keep the queen size while the full size was being ordered, and then they can switch them when they bring the full size. The next day, Mom called and spoke to the woman who had sold her the mattress to make sure the full was on order. She was assured by the saleswoman that "they would make it right.". After months of not hearing from them about the delivery of the correct mattress, Mom called Ethan Allen and spoke with the saleswoman. The saleswoman had not even ordered the mattress! She said that her manager told her they cannot take back a used mattress and were not going to provide her with the full mattress unless she would pay for a new one! So, all of this time she has been sleeping on the wrong sized mattress which hangs over the box spring. i am afraid she will fall out of bed or somehow slip onto the floor. I expect this store to pick up the mattress and give her a full size, or give her a queen size mattress and a queen bed frame. i have purchased many items of furniture from the Dayton Ethan Allen but will not buy another thing unless this item is resolved. By the way, I am speaking about the Ethan Allen store in the Tri-County Mall. It is in Cincinnati, OH.
