Never made it out for the estimate. In their defense, I contacted them during holiday season and there was inclement weather.

Very good work, solved a longstanding problem that others had not been able to fix. And the price was much, much more reasonable than quotes from large, ad-driven companies. Jim arrived when expected and got the work done on time, and left the area around the work neat and clean. The only minus I could mention is that he was quite busy at the time and it took a while to fit me into his schedule. It was worth the wait and I expect to call him again.

I was in a bind. I needed a very experienced roofer who could find and fix persistent leaks on an old roof. Furthermore, I had limited funds. Fortunately I found Jim from Eastside Roofing who solved my problems at a very reasonable cost. I am beholden to him for helping me out of a jam, and I highly recommend him. The 80 year old roof on my large apartment building (2,3, and 4 bedrooms) was leaking into 3 apartments out of 12. The roofer I had previously hired failed to fix the leaks, and the residents were mad at me for hiring someone without the skills to fix it. I was losing badly-needed money because I had promised that none of the three had to pay rent due to their inconvenience. Jim came to the rescue. Because the roof was old and had been repaired multiple times in various ways, he had to analyze and creatively use multiple techniques. He proposed 7 different solutions to stop the leaks. Most importantly, he proposed cost effective ones. For instance, other roofers insisted that I had to replace the ancient box gutters that were no longer channeling the water. This was huge cost that I could not afford. By contrast, Jim creatively suggested keeping the gutters while building up the outside edges with metal strips to keep the water from flowing over the gutters. This technique worked beautifully, and saved me thousands. No other roofer of the 5 that I interviewed suggested this idea. Even in the worst rain we found no leaks, and the residents were delighted. Best of all, the total cost: only $3500 FOR A LARGE 12 UNIT APARTMENT BUILDING!! I got other bids at $25,000! Working with Jim felt like working with a team member rather than an outside contractor. He was not trying to take advantage of my situation; rather, he was sympathetic to my financial challenges and willing to use his extensive experience and creativity to help. I warmly recommend him.

The whole EastSide Roofing team was professional, credible, respectful all while performing high quality work in a timely and clean manner. We had several companies and estimates performed on this work. My brother who lives several states away, has owned a professional home exteriors company, including roofing and gutters, and EastSide was the only company that passed his "sniff" test and never gave us a run around or things to question them about after my brother thoroughly reviewed their estimate ... which is a tough review to pass because my brother is a perfectionist and prides himself in his professionalism! Too bad he doesn't live in Ohio with all the crazy weather we get here, including hurricanes!

They did such a good job and kept going until it was done. They even worked into the dark. We had an unused chimney that was crumbling, so he tore that out at no extra charge.

They were reliable and showed up on time. They asked for no money up front.
