He did a terrible job painting my new bathroom. I was in a bind, and needed a painter. He took advantage of the situation and overcharged me. I had to have him come back because the quality was so poor. He irritated me so much I don’t even want him in my house anymore.

I'm very sorry you feel this way. We did come back to address your concerns. In 40 years I have not seen nor heard such a response. I do not do poor work, nothing is ever perfect, but this seems like a total exaggeration. All quality products were used on the job. The thing that concerns me is the timing that you waited 18 months to address this issue. To be clearI don't think anyone could have pleased you. In addittion you have made this very personal. Again, I'm sorry you felt the need to respond in this manner.

In the end, we decided not to utilize his services because of the cost.
Description of Work: We needed to get the interior of our mid-century modern ranch painted, as it was all a very bad beige. Dennis was very personable and came to give an estimate pretty quickly. He was very professional and I really felt like he knew what he was doing and would do a great job.

Dennis contacted me promptly and we arranged a time for a walk-through. Upon completion, Dennis offered a very reasonable estimate and we contracted his services. He and his crew arrived promptly and did an excellent job. They were friendly, professional and treated our home as their own. They finished the job to our satisfaction in the estimated time of two (2) days even though we had transitioned from a light paint on the walls to a dark color, which required three coats for the proper finish. The results and their attention to quality were superb. We are very happy with the work performed and would highly recommend this company to everyone.
Description of Work: Dennis and his crew painted the ceiling, walls and trim on most of the upstairs portion of my bi-level home.

I was shocked and appalled when I was called back by this contractor. We were setting up the details for him to stop over and give me an estimate. Then he asked how I heard about him and I told him Angie's list. He sighed and said that he WON'T do any estimates for people who find out about him via Angie's list. He said he doesn't find any value in the program and he gets too many requests for estimates for it to be worth his time to deal with any customers from Angie's list. I was stunned - he turned away a big job because I heard about him from Angie's list and he was rated well. I was also amazed at how rude he became after I told him I heard about him from Angie's List.

AND I WAS NOT RUDE TO HIM I SIMPLY WAS TRYING TO SCREEN THIS SITUATION TO DETERMINE IF I WANTED TO BE INVOLVED. The owner and the workers were all very professional. From getting the estimate to the completion of the job, everything went as planned. Dennis was accessible either on the site or by cell phone.
Description of Work: Hand washed aluminum siding, primed, two coats of paint, removed and replaced window shutters, painted front door to match shutters, replaced trim on pillars, caulked around windows, and trimmed overgrown trees to access siding.

CALLED THE LAST TIME AT 4:10PM AND SAID HE WAS LOST AND SEEMED UPSET AND ARGUMENTATIVE. I TRIED TO GIVE HIM SIMPLE DIRECTIONS WHICH I DID EARLIER EVERYONE ELSE HAS FOUND MY PLACE WITH NO PROBLEMS. HE STARTED YELLING AT ME AND I TRIED TO AGAIN CALMLY TELL HIM HOW TO GET HERE. HE FINALLY HOLLERED AGAIN AND TOLD ME HE WAS JUST GOING HOME AND HUNG UP ON ME.
