We moved into our house in September of last year. We had a home warranty with the purchase through First American. When preparing Easter Brunch, we noticed that the burners on our KitchenAid electric stove/range/oven would suddenly stop working and thus we could not cook our brunch. So a few business days later we called First American to put in a claim to get the electric stove/range/oven repaired. First American sent out BA Appliance repair to fix it. They said the controls needed to be replaced and that they would order the parts. A few days later the parts showed up at the house and BA Appliance repair called to verify and schedule someone to come out and do the repair. When BA Appliance showed up, they had two people because they said this was going to be a big job. Apparently along with the controls, the wiring harness had to be replaced since the controls had different connection. So when they opened the parts box and took a look, the two guys had a conversation and said they could not do the work. They said they were going to call First American and tell them they needed to send out another company. A few days later, First American called Sears (was not actually Sears, it was a subcontractor that Sears uses) to come out and take a look. They said the control board needed to be replaced. They ordered the part, came out replaced it, and it really did not work even worse than before. They then ordered another control board. The board worked the next time, but the stove still have the problem with the controls going out and the burners stopped working again while you would try to cook. So now Sears agreed with BA that the controls needed to be replaced. When the control parts arrived, the Sears guy looked at the box of parts (same parts that BA Appliance ordered) and said that the stove was beyond repair. They said First American was going to replace it now. Then I followed up with First American who verified the stove was going to be replaced. BUT....a few days later when they found out this unit originally a high-end stove worth around $2,500 they decided not to replace it and called a third appliance repair company - Day's Appliance Repair. Day's sent out one of their technicians named Pat who said he could fix it. He agreed the controls were bad. I filled him in on the entire ordeal (two months had passed by this time). Pat said that the repair was very time consuming and difficult and that's why in his opinion the other two appliance repair companies backed out and said they could not to it. I also did not mention earlier that the Sears subcontractors dented the stove control panel while trying to put the stove back together. They admitted they did it and said they would replace it. Sears never did, so I did tell Pat I wanted that replaced when he came back to do the repair. Pat submitted the estimate to First American - I am just guessing the repair was north of $500 - and First American gave them the OK to repair it. Pat ordered the parts and when they came in, Day's called and scheduled the repair. It was a big job to rewire it and Pat was here for a number of hours. But when it is all said an done, as Pat promised, he said he could fix it and he did. Pat was a real professional and knew exactly what he was doing. He was very careful and through and it was a time consuming job. I was very disappointed that First American never called Day's in the first place. In fact, I am not very happy that First American put me through a 2 1/2 month ordeal to get our stove/range/oven fixed. Had they called Day's in the first place, I would have been a happy camper with the First American home warranty. Here's the summary. If you want it done right the first time and not go through endless ordeals, just call Day's Appliance Repair instead of messing with these other companies. Thanks to Pat and Day's - we can cook again (though not sure if my wife will agree with the last statement :-)

After struggling with another company for 2 weeks to fix our refrigerator, we called Day in to let us know what the problem was and actually fix it. The repair man was professional and gave me a lot of great information about what was wrong, what caused it, how it could be fixed and what the other company likely didn't do correctly. I had paperwork and our old part from the other company, which he looked over. It seems the other company did not correctly set something after the replacement was installed. He did this quickly, then gave us advice about how to get the fridge cold the fastest way. He also took a look at our coils, which he said the other company should have cleaned, and cleaned them for us free of charge given how much we had already spent with the other company. He also stressed that if we did need them to come back, we would be considered a priority since they had already made one call out. Day provided quick, smart and fair service. We will definitely be using them in the future, should we have any more issues.

I called on Monday the 16th for a diagnosis of a non-spinning Samsung top-loader washer. The young lady on the phone, while not particularly pleasant or engaging scheduled me an appointment the next day, between 1 and 5pm. I was told that the agent assigned to my problem would give me a call prior so I could meet him at my house. I received a call at almost 1pm straight up. Paul identified himself and said he could meet me at my house in 3 or 4 minutes. Unfortunately, I was across town and told him I was 25 minutes out. He asked if he could run back to the shop, pick up some parts he needed and come back. I assured him that once I was home he could come any time. He showed up near 2pm. I showed him the washer, he ran through the cycles a few times, listened to my full tale on what happened and then wondered out loud if it could be a broken wire like the Samsung her paired earlier today. Sure enough, he tilted the washer crawled underneath and found a broken wired connecting the expelling water pump. He repaired it and another wire in the same connection...going beyond his duty. After the repair he plugged it back in and ran the rest of the cycle. Paul waited the 12+ minutes for it to fully run through. When it completed he rang me up, gave me a fridge magnet with Day's Appliance contact info and bid me good-bye. I would like to add that throughout the whole time he was at my house he was offering sage advice on brands of washers, cleaning the washer, how to get better cleaning from the washer...a veritable plethora of wisdom. It was greatly appreciated.
Description of Work: Paul, from Day's Appliance, diagnosed the problem with my Samsung Washer, confirmed it through his inspection and repaired the wiring.

My 28 year old refrigerator started making a rattling noise. I called Day's Appliance Repair and they said a technician would be there within a few hours. The repairman was there in a couple of hours and quickly determined the timer controlling the cooling cycle needed to be replaced. He said the refrigerator would have been done for if that timer had quit completely. Those old refrigerators may use more energy than new ones, but they are certainly made to last much longer.

I placed a call to Premier at 4:30 P.M. He told me that he was on a job and it would be at lease 30 minutes depending on traffic before he would arrive. He showed up at 4:45. I could not pull the refrigerator away from the wall. When he was able to pull the refrigerator away he found it was pushed up tight against the plug. He swapped the plug into the second connector and power immediately came back on. We was out at 6:30. When power came back on the refrigerator was in defrost mode. He asked that I called him back in an 90 minutes to make sure was working. I call him around 8:15 and told him the refrigerator was fully operational. I have to rate this experience as the best I have ever had on a service call.

Late the evening before we noticed a burnt electric plastic smell coming from our kitchen. After some trial and error we discovered it was coming from the refrigerator. I called Day's to leave a message at 7am, and by 10am the repairman arrived. From our description he was able to diagnose the issue, and quickly discovered the burnt relay. Replacement was a breeze as he had the part stocked in his van, and from start to finish, the whole process was about 30 minutes. Very prompt, quick, and friendly service. Also happened to be a life saver as we just stocked the fridge with fresh groceries. Would highly recommend.

Dishwasher broke on the weekend [of course]. I called Day's Appliance on Monday morning. They responded promptly, coming out the same day to diagnose the problem. The technician, Paul, was excellent. Very courteous and very knowledgeable. The motor/pump had seized and was not repairable. Replacement motor ordered immediately. Full disclosure of parts, labor, and service call costs was made at the time of their first call. We were told to expect replacement in 3-5 days, but replacement motor/pump came into stock the next day, and Day's Appliance immediately called to see whether they could do the replacement that same day. It fit my schedule, so we went ahead and made the appointment. Paul again was service tech -- he installed the replacement, and then further improved the performance of the unit by lubricating its squeaky door hinges. So, our service need was reported Monday, and a full replacement motor/pump was installed Tuesday. Our issue was solved faster than expected, at a reasonable cost.

I called around 1pm on a Wednesday and the rep was at my house approximately two hours later. It turned out we had a water line leak, which he quickly repaired in no time. I was very impressed that they were able to get someone out to fix our problem within hours of our call. This was not an emergency situation, and we really expected to see someone in the next day or two. We will definitely call on Day's Appliance Repair in the future for these types of issues.

Great experience from beginning to end starting with my call to Day's. I was thrilled they were able to come out on the same day I called. Paul was very knowledgable and professional and he diagnosed and fixed the problem in less than 1 hour. He also gave me advice about replacing the lint trap on the hose that the water drains through. I could not have been more pleased with the whole experience.
Description of Work: Paul from Day's Appliance Repair came to look at my 7-year-old Maytag top-loading washer because it had started to make a funny noise. He came on the same day I called. Paul quickly determined the noise was from a pump. He told us the washer would continue to operate for some period of time without replacing the part but the noise was a sign of wear. We had him replace the part since we had already incurred the cost of the service call.

Within 30 minutes of arrival Kenny had found the problem (blown thermal fuse). Within 45 minutes had replaced the defective part and explained exactly what he had done and the possible reason(s) for the problem. Unfortunately the problem reoccurred within 15 minutes after he left. I called the office and explained that the problem had reoccurred and they had Kenny call me back immediately. He explained that he was on his next call with one more after that but would try to get back to me same day if possible. Kenny called back after his next call to tell me he couldn't reschedule his last call but worked with me to schedule follow up visit the next day at most convenient time for me. The following day Kenny called to tell me he had researched the problem and had several possible solutions and had already picked up replacement parts. Kenny again called to tell me his arrival time and again showed up on time. He again replaced the thermal fuse (no charge) and then tried the least expensive solution first. Unfortunately that wasn't it. The problem was a defective circuit board. After replacing the parts and getting the dryer working again he stayed until I had cycled a load to make sure it was working properly and not going to quit again. Since work performed previous day did not fix the problem I only had to pay for parts used on second day, no additional service charge or labor charge.
Description of Work: Repaired an electric Whirlpool dryer. Schedule the service call the same day I called. Advised me right away of the service trip charge. The service tech Kenny called to give me advanced notice of his arrival time and showed up right on time.

I was able to schedule an appointment the day after I called. The repairman called 45 minutes before arrival. He quickly determined the problem. He gave an estimate on the repair and suggested that the cost was probably not worth it. He then also gave suggestions for what types of refrigerators to buy and what type to avoid. I was very pleased with my experience with Day's. I was impressed that he gave his honest opinion on whether it should be repaired or not. I would definitely use Day's again.

The technician was very friendly and professional. He seemed to know what he was doing. He finished the job going above and beyond, all for a fair price.
Description of Work: I called them for 2 different repairs. Once because my clothes dryer was taking too long to dry and another time because washer wasn't working properly. Both times, I called them in the morning and had someone at my house either the same day or the next day. One time was after a significant snowfall and they still showed up only a few minutes late.

Dishwasher door wouldn't latch. Went on Angie's list & it pulled up Day's Appliance Repair as highest rank with most reviews. I had used them in the past through my home warranty coverage. I was surprised to see them & that they were so highly ranked. My assumption was that the warranty companies didn't hire good contractors. They were good the first time they were out to fix my refrigerator, but I never thought about hiring them on my own until today. The repair man came earlier than the scheduled time which was great for me. He had to go out to purchase the part, but came back within an hour & completed the job. I would hire them again. The cost is the cost when it comes to appliance repair. We all know it will be high, so there isn't much you can do or say about it.
