They showed up promptly for the estimate and the actual work. Performed the work and cleaned up afterward. My only disappointment was the time it took to get on the schedule, but that is more a reflection of the demand for their services.

We decided to hire this company after receiving its estimate. The work would be done the end of October 2017 or early November 2017. There was a possibility that it could be sooner. A crew of 3 men showed up before it was October! They were wearing safety gear. There were four trees that were of concern. Outside, they discussed one tree with my husband and advised that it did not need to be cut down. Two trees were cut down. Another’s top branches touching the roof and house were removed. They removed the debris and cleaned up. It was appreciated that we did not have to wait until the end of October or early November.

He and my husband stayed outside. He examined trees. He also gave some advice and said the removal will be done the end of 10/17 or early 11/17.

This team cleans up all the debris and leaves your property in better condition than when they arrived. We have had them do work more than once and are never disappointed. Don't waste your time with the drive-by services. Stick to the true professionals and you won't be disappointed.

The job was ready to go, but Aaron called early one evening to ask if they could come out tomorrow. Another job was cancelled for some reason. I gladly accepted. They came out promptly at 9 AM, as promised. I spoke to the guys and had them talk (again) to our neighbor that was letting them use her driveway for easier access to the tree to be 'trimmed'. They took the time to talk to her, they took pictures before, then when they were done they replaced everything where it was before. Very thoughtful and efficient. The work was done within several hours along with a very complete cleanup. The crew was respectful of our landscaping and our neighbor's driveway and patio. I would hire these folks again, in a minute.

Excellent - very courteous and professional. Cleaned up after themselves. The big tree was not easy and could have damaged property if not handled correctly. I was very pleased with their work.

My husband cut down the limbs and disposed of the tree but couldn't get the stump out. Nobody ever called back or came out to discuss the project. We ended up going with another vendor who responded immediately. It only took 5 minutes to get the stump out -- easy money.

Dave contacted me within one hour of my initial call and gave me a written quote within twenty four hours. His crew arrived on the first day that weather permitted so that his equipment wouldn't damage my lawn. They were courteous and professional. The base of the tree had a chain link fence through it which I thought would be a big problem. However they cut it out in a way that it made it easy for me to repair. They did not remove the chips but placed them back in the hole. Shortly afterwards, my neighbor was telling me how her mother had a large tree down from a storm. I told her about Dave Stang's Certified Tree Care. They hired him, saved money and were very pleased with his work. So much so that they made a trip to my house to thank me for the recommendation. Yes, I definitely would hire Dave again.

Dave's employees where not only professional and courteous but also prompt, and fascinating to watch in action. I was in awe when watching them climb the trees and accurately drop limbs without damage to any nearby objects, fences or bushes. My trees look great and you cannot even tell where the old tree was after it's removal. I have used Dave's services twice in the past and will continue in the future. Clean up was excellent not a trace of limbs or leaves in the yard. I can't say enough great things about Dave and his crew

Dave came to the house the day I called and gave me an estimate. I thought I would have to have the silver maple cut down it looked so bad, but Dave said it could be saved. About a week later, they completed the job while I was at work. They cleaned up very well. You couldn't see a twig or a leaf in the yard. I will definitely continue using them.

an appDave came out two years ago to discuss two of my trees with me - a blue spruce and an ash. He was prompt and professional. He listened to my concerns and gave me his advice. I decided to use the treatment for the ash tree which has to be done every two years. This past spring, I received a reminder from Dave. I scheduled an appointment and it was completed as planned.

Dave Stang is very knowledgeable and only does work that is needed He has helped me numerous times and if the tree was fine or was in too bad of shape to save he recommended doing nothing. We started out wanting to have some trees removed as they are too close together, the result of a tree line from a farm fence line from before our neighborhood was built. We wound up having several ash trees treated, several small trees removed, a birch tree trimmed and some dead wood removed from trees in the fence line. Dave Stang came out three times for information and estimates as our project evolved and incorporated more work. Very good service and work performed.

They were very efficient. They arrived in a timely manner for the estimate and for the removal. I thought the price was real reasonable.

prompt, knowledgeable response to inital contact and bid within 48 hrs. Pleasant and professional interactions from start to finish. After accepting bid, lack of contact raised minor worries, but they were unwarranted: we got put on the work schedule, they responded with info about that schedule immediatly when asked, and work was performed where not a single scrap of wood or leaf was left on the ground from their labor. Crew very accomodating to handle traffic needing to get by work location even when it was a nuisance for them.

He left everything in excellent shape. I would use him again in future if need be.

I felt that the bid was a bit high, but Dave & his crew do great work and we have hired them in the past for other tree issues as well. They always keep everything clean and left no sign of tree maintenance. We will continue to use them in the future.

The following is an addendum to my original review and specifically addresses Mr. Stang's "Comments", which are filled with misinformation that needs to be addressed. The estimator originally tried to justify the exorbitant cost by referring to “trained arborists” that had to “stand back and look it over”. Now in Mr. Stang’s reply the reason is “travel time”. Not one word was said about travel time, not upfront, or at the time of the estimate. His company is18.5 miles from Alexandria, and I live on the northern side of the city, and right off of an expressway; he services people in his own state further away than me, and it takes no 45 minutes to travel those 18.5 miles, unless you’re lost. He was also estimating another job in Ky that same day, which is why we had to wait a week to get someone out; he was coordinating his moves, and the same coordination of labor would have been done had we given him the work. How is it that travel time didn’t effect the pricing of the contractor that did the work, since he was from Ohio as well? There were three other estimates, two for $60 and one for $150. Stang’s was $250 higher than the highest/ $340 higher than the one we ultimately used. That’s a lot of “travel time”, Mr. Stang; you could trim trees in Montana at those rates. Then there’s the “3 man crew” story. One man did this work, did an excellent job, completed it in an hour including clean up, and charged $60. There was no climbing; it was done from the ground. That’s because it was “a small pruning job”, as Mr. Stang himself admits; a small pruning job that was done by one man, but strangely requires three when Stang's service does it. Maybe the three-man issue ties in with his “standing and looking” theory; one does the work and two stand and look. Mr. Stang is out of line when he refers to my “budget” insinuating that I couldn’t afford him. My budget can certainly handle Mr. Stang; what it won’t handle is exploitation, of which this is a clear case. It’s supposed to be a fair work/fair pay exchange Mr. Stang, and I would suggest that your time would be better spent contemplating that concept instead of grappling for excuses that the facts make laughable. I can help you with your travel-time problem though –you’ll never have to spend another penny on a trip to Kentucky for me, or anyone that I know.

It went great! They left without saying anything, so we did have to call back. The did came back out to our home the next day. Dave was not in, but another man came out and corrected a few of our concerns. They were very nice and very concerned about the quality of their work. They were very accomodating and interested in being sure we were completely satisfied. I will have them back out later this year for additional arbor work.

While Dave was not the cheapest estimate that we received, he was the most professional. Of all the companies that gave an estimate, DSTC understood our desire to keep such a large tree despite the fact that it is a mulberry. His work was done promptly and cleanly.

Dave called me the day after I left a message for him. He arranged a visit to my property on the following day. He was very punctual, knowledgeable, professional and polite. I signed his proposal and the work was completed by his employees on the following day. The guys who did the work were equally as impressive as Dave. The work was done to my satisfaction and clean up was superb.
