He arrived on time, spread protective tarp over carpet and thoroughly cleaned the fireplace and chimney. He also advised that the floor and back wall needed to be replaced.

The tile installer came out the next day or so and looked at the floor. He said he had never seen this happen before and would order replacement tile and get back to us as soon as it came in. I never heard a thing from them for almost 2 months. It was summertime and we weren't too excited to have our kitchen torn up again so we waited to hear from them. I finally called in August and were told that it was their busy season & they would contact us in a few weeks to let us know when replacement was scheduled. Another month or so went by and I called again. By this time, it was October and we had vacation, then holidays and said that if they couldn't get out in the next 2 weeks to wait until January. She promised to call on Dec. 31 to give us a schedule. Again, never heard from her and I called again in January. Same thing--different person--and this time she actually gave me a choice of weeks. I told her either would work and she said fine, they would order the tile (again) and call before they came. Never heard from them, so this time my husband called & let them know that we were tired of empty promises. They scheduled the work. The guy came out, tore up the floor, put the refrigerator in the dining room and said he would lay the tile the next day but had to pick it up first. He got here at about 11 the next morning and laid a few pieces, but said the tile was bad and they would have to get more. That was on a Wed. & this was the last we saw of them until almost a week later. We were trying to be patient because the problem was with The Tile Shop and the quality of the tile, but the communication from Columbia was horrendous. The guy called me on the following Tues. & said they would be here the next morning. Nobody showed; nobody called to say they wouldn't be there! My husband called again and they said they were still having trouble getting good tile. If they had just communicated with us, we wouldn't have been happy but the frustration we felt would have been much less. They are the worst at communication--instead of just telling us the truth, they just wouldn't call at all! Their customer service is non-existent. The installer finally got the job done almost two weeks after he started. He did an okay job but he was rushing to get it completed and there are areas that are uneven and there is no grouting under the appliances. This is definitely not the careful, nice job he did originally. The worst part is, there is no guarantee that the floor won't crack again since they weren't sure why it cracked the first time! It is truly a shame because we really love our kitchen and gave them a great review for the original work even though communication that time was bad, too. Had they just communicated with us this could have all been avoided. Now, I wouldn't use them again if they were the last company in the area! Nobody ever called us after the work was done either time. We thought that was a little odd when they completed the kitchen last year. It seems that most companies follow up with customers when a job is done to make sure they are satisfied. The installer handled everything--final payment, final walk-thru, etc. Again, the installer does a great job but this company doesn't do him any justice!

I called them for an appointment for the chimney sweep and they told me that they are going to give my number to this lady and somebody will call you back to do the job. They lost my name in the process and I did not get called for two weeks. I called them back after two weeks and my name was already gone. I was frustrated. Then they called me the next day and the guy that came out did the cleaning and I had no problem with him. He was a lever guy and I was thankful that I had a friend with me at that time. But he was fine, did the work and everything was done cleanly and quickly. I got a discount from Triple A. He also came two to three hours early and I was not yet ready for him because I had an appointment.

They were fine. They did the job. There was an issue with billing. They wanted a payment like that and I usually pay by invoice. They kept on calling me afterwards for scheduling other services. They did do a good job cleaning the gutters. I would call them again for cleaning gutters.

We contracted with Columbia on November 19th 2013. They sent out a project manager the next week to estimate and order the products needed for the job. The first week of December a crew showed up but there was no supplies delivered. I called the sales manager who never returned our call. We had snow but when they predicted nice weather I called them again. They promised workers would be there on Monday, so my husband took off work to observe and they did not show or call. I called them again they apologized and said the project manager was let go. Missed out on the nicer weather. We have had 4 different times they said they would show. Once they showed up and the materials were not there to work with. We finally got the roof put on in January when we asked about timing on the siding they said no one ordered the materials even though it had been months. Also all the workers we had told us they just started working for the company. Calls to them were often not returned and then they told us people were let go. Finally in Feb. they showed up to work on the siding. They tore off the lower siding and they never got the supplies delivered. We got snow again and they left the exposed wood. Finally the siding was delivered. They installed it and did a bad job. The corners of the bay window are the wrong pieces. There was loose panels, no caulking, the panels were not square leaving gaps under the windowsill. The corner trims were sloppy the overlaps were wrong. This is when they started to pressure us to pay up.The roof has excessive wrinkles, the rake board and gutter board was not replaced. They did come and replace these and the wood under the gutterboard was rotten and needed replacing. Which would have not been addressed unless we pushed them to fix it.. The work overall has been shoddy, we are still not satisfied. They also sent 3 people over to try and sign off on the job , they said it was inspected and done. But they did not get up on the roof to look up close at the job. We have and it is terrible. It is now March 10th and we still are not satisfied. When we had the sales pitch they said we have good reviews on Angie's list, so I am writing this to warn others ....Don't use them.

I had them put a roof on, and they came up with 21sq, and after they put the roof on, I had all this material left. They over ordered, and they measured the roof wrong. You always order 5% extra, but I have 350 to 360 sq feet left. I said that I would not pay for it. They agreed to deducting the labor and material used. They also started on my kitchen last week of October, and tore it all up. I couldn't use it for a function 2 weeks ago. They problem they had was that you can call them, and they don't call you back. They were prompt on the roof, and the quality of the roof was fine, it was just the issue with the material. They told me the kitchen would be done with a month or two. I told them that I wanted it done by Thanks giving, but I called them, and my wife called them but they wouldn't reply. They don't have the resources to this kind of work. They subcontracted a crew to come and do the work. They didn't know how to do it. I then found out that they hired these guys off the street, because they didn't have enough people. I ordered premium, high end cabinets, but what I got, was not what was ordered. They changed my order to something completely different, I received a low end cabinet, but they hadn't specified this in the contract.

Because of my circumstances, I was not able to complete the contract. Because they had a three day cancelation provision with no obligation, I followed their instruction and completed the cancelation. They were polite, no presure and told me they would issue a refund to my credit card. When Nick, the sales consultant, came to my home, he was knowledgeable, polite and took the time needed to give a good quote.

It went well. They were professional, courteous, and responsive. I had an issue, called them, and they came back out to fix it.

They gave me the estimate and I went forward with it. They didnt call me to schedule, I called them. Scheduled and they never came. Scheduled it again and they brought the wrong ladder. Third time, I scheduled it and they never came or called. | |Finally, after months I gave them one last chance and they said they had fired the person I was working with, so they would send someone out (it is now January), the person came out, but didnt know what they were supposed to fix, I said if you dont know, then go ahead and go home. They sent me a copy of the repair order and asked me to call them again to schedule. Unfortunately I cant do 5 chances. I will now just wait till spring and hope that the repairs can wait that long.

Dave, the foreman, was excellent, thorough, creative, did extra things like having carpet cleaners come in and clean up where the crew had walked.

Columbia sent an installation crew out in a timely manner, but in their extreme haste to move on to the next job, they broke numerous items inside the house, and walked with muddy boots all over the siding before nailing it to the house. This presented the effect that someone with mud covered boots had walked all over the exterior walls of the house. It was very difficult to clean off once it had been installed in that filthy condition. Within a very short time of Columbia picking up the final check for $17,500.00 for the final payment, pieces of siding actually began to fall off of the house. The downspout on one gutter simply broke free and fell to the ground. It's still lying behind our garage. There are six matching garage doors, one for each garage bay, and each of the six door trim packages was sloppily installed so as not to match the others. Some had butt joints, some miter joints, and one was pieced together from scraps of what I guess was left-over pieces from the other 5 doors. I'm not sure what these guys had been smoking, but many sections of siding were cut too short, and then some scrap pieces were nailed up to "stretch" the pieces that had been cut too short. Window and door trim, for example, did not use a strip of 2-foot trim to trim out a 2-foot window, but rather several scrap pieces of trim were jammed together to make the 2-foot stretch. It took only a few days for those "Band-Aid" pieced together trim sections to also twist up and create an eye sore. We've called and called, scheduled numerous appointments with Traci, taking off from work to wait for them, and they don't show up! No phone call or explanation, they just don't show up. Finally, on two occasions, we did get a representative to come out and take photos. Both guys (on separate occasions) took extensive notes and photos of the entire mess, and one even admitted that he would be very upset if this had been his house. We can't even have people over given the run-down dilapidated appearance of our house with siding falling off or obviously badly patched with scrap. We paid them close to thirty thousand dollars for what amounts to an embarrassment. After several more days off from work again waiting for the crew to show up as promised, Traci simply no longer returns my calls. We've filed a complaint with the BBB and we just want our money back, and the cost of hiring someone to remove and haul off the siding put up by Columbia. They have clearly demonstrated that they are without the ability to do the job. No more chances to fix it. They never even tried. "Take the Money and Run" should be their motto. Please, DO NOT EVER HIRE THESE CROOKS!

They came and provided us an estimate for the service, and we decided to proceed with signing a contract and providing a $1000 deposit. Five days later they came out and we discovered that they didn't have the colors we wanted. There was a three day right to rescind the contract, however they didn't come out or notify us they didn't have the materials for the work until five days after. At that time we notified them that we wanted to not pursue the work, the gentlemen said we would be able to get our deposit back. We then called to follow up on the refund, and we spoke with Tracy who was very rude and said it wasn't going to happen. She said they would have another gentleman call us with other color options to essentially make us change our minds. With that we haven't heard anything back from them since. It was only after we mentioned we were Angie's List members, she was adamant about not providing our refund and unwilling to resolve the situation. Predatory sales practices. Attorney General complaint pending.

Columbia Exteriors has been a failure from day one. The salesperson lied and said that they had there own team and didn't subcontract. Not true. The Salesperson, Construction foreman, and Subcontract foreman no longer work for the Company. Our house wasn't wrapped underneath. The corners and windows don't have flashing. They didn't install the top sheets correctly so it's drooping. they plugged drip holes with finishing nails for securement. We have contacted this company on many occasions and even showed up. The excuse is we don't have anybody we trust to come out and fix the job correctly. Wow. That has been the response for 6 weeks now. This is not a patch job. It needs to be torn down and installed correctly. I had a private contractor inspect the work. No wrapping and some areas didn't have any backing. The insulation was showing. We have placed 3 complaints with the BBC.

service was performed as expected and advertised. a professionally written inspection report was provided at the end of the service for review indicating condition of the fireplace and chimney system.

Never called me back to schedule so if that is the first impression I can't imagine them being on time or doing a good job.

It went very well! They probably came out within a week after I purchased the deal. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. It was perfect. They came out right on time and took care of the job. I can't get up there to see what he did but to me everything is okay. They just did everything they were supposed to do!

It was a waste of our time.

The work was performed very good quality. My beef is that the business practices of the company are terrible (assuming they deal with others as they did me). Nothing was reduced to writing until the day payment was made. (today- 10-1-13). A verbal agreement was made that Columbia Ex would perform the work for the amount of the insurance co paid on my claim. Then with no written contract before the work was performed and no invoice when job was complete, Columbia Ex proceeded to request more money from the insurance co after I had already settled the claim and was paid the full amount of the claim permitted. The were successful in getting additional money. It is my opinion that the amount of money of the original claim amount was more than satisfactory for the 45 minutes it took to perform the repair. I will not do business with this company again.

The gutters were cleaned out in a timely manner. We did have to clear some leaves out of the downspouts when we noticed the rain water overflowing the gutters. It wasn't a big deal, but that would be something I would ask them to check in the future.

My overflow problem was resolved in the location that I indicated. This was the second appointment as the first had to be rescheduled due to the rain. I was disappointed that I had to call back rather than them coming out the next day or call me to set a new date.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. When they completed the work they did a good job but they had to send a few people out and it took a while to get done. My biggest complaint was that I got it through Groupon and when I signed up online they charged me for three of them. When I called Groupon I could not get my money refunded so the lesson I learned is that I will never use Groupon. Columbia was okay but it seemed like the chimney people had to come out two or three times to do the work. It seemed like a lot to just do one chimney sweeping. They were just average.
