Classy Craftsmen

I called, provider didn't show. I should have checked his grades, but I thought the providers for Big Deals were vetted. I now have to try to get my money back from Angie's List.

Very professional, showed up when planned, stayed estimated time that was paid for, did an exemplary job in repairing ceiling and installing ceiling fan, and then went to the other bedroom and installed another ceiling fan as well. Overall very pleased with the job and the professional way it was handled.

Gutter guards are working very well. Did a good job with installation and clean up.

We purchased an Angie's List special deal from CLASSY CRAFTSMEN. They contacted us quickly, showed up on time and provided a good mix of work quality with price value as we requested. They found many (thousands of dollars) other issues needing addressed and found problems several other contractor’s had missed. The CLASSY CRAFTSMEN workers were considerate about scheduling and worked quickly on an itemized list that we had agreed on in advance. They’ll be the first people I call for projects in the future.

I asked Dave not to contact my anymore and told him I was going to report him to Angie's List. He told me in an email that he totaled what he made from the coupons on Angie's list (the figure he gave me was less than $200) I feel like he is trying o make me pay for his losses on Angie's List. At this point, I would like my money back from him, but I doubt that will happen.

The owner, Dave Beck, provided insightful expertise and creative ideas with excellent coordination and timely schedules plus some minor follow up as requested. The workmanship was well-supervised, the crews skilled, professional and courteous. The quality of the workmanship was excellent and the care for property and cleanup was very good. This was the largest list of projects we have ever undertaken with one provider and it went smoothly with minimal disruption to our daily lives. I highly recommend them - Ed

Dave was personable and helpful. Even willing to come out on a day he was normally not working to help me out! Outstanding!

Run, don't walk, away from this company! Save yourself a whole lot of trouble and choose someone else. I had great expectations from the beginning of the job. The men showed up on time and seemed ready to go to work. They even picked up some supplies on their way. However, once work began, it turned into a nightmare! They were there to hang drywall, which they did. But they did a terrible job of it. The drywall they hung wound up with cracks and creases all over it, so it will have to be re-done. The worst part, though, was that they did not protect my property during the job and the company refuses to take responsibility. I had just put in a new fiberglass bathtub less than six months ago and they did not cover it with anything to protect it during work. One guy was standing on the edge of the tub to hang drywall on the ceiling and cracked the edge of the tub. I was standing nearby when it happened and heard the loud crack and the guy said "uh oh." We both saw the damage right then. At least the worker owned up to what he did. But the owner of the company refuses to reimburse me for the damage. They also marred the finish in several places on the tub. The other worker on the two-man team was not so forth-coming, however. The next day they were back to do more work and I noticed that he came downstairs to shut the water off to the house. I didn't think anything of it at the time. I thought it was just a normal precaution. I found out after they left that the worker had damaged one of my copper supply lines to the shower and didn't tell me that there was a leak. The owner of the company, Dave Beck, will not take responsibility for that either. To top it all off, that evening I went to the basement to grab my tile saw to do some tile work and noticed that it had been stolen that same day. I had to file a police report for a stolen RotoZip saw ($100 value) and a stolen tabletop wet tile saw ($75 value). Of course, no one at Classy Craftsmen is owning up to this either. Do *not* even think of hiring this company. Learn from my misfortune, please. I am trying to get my money back right now, but who knows.

The quality of the services were good,.. Now, their responsiveness was very bad.. I bought one of the Big Deals advertised by Angie's list and It seemed that the deal was not attractive to the supplier ( US$ 299 for one HandyMan for one day) or they were very busy doing bigger work, ( or both)... It took several phone calls and text message to be able to get a response from them...In total the work was scheduled to be done close to 2 month after the date I bought the deal.....

I was extremely disappointed with the amount of time I spent reaching out to him for follow up after every meeting. He did tell me that he was very busy and sidetracked by something in his personal life, which while I do understand, I feel like it really is his job to communicate with people and he did a terrible job of it with us.

Dave got back with me right away after I left a message stating that I was looking to get some estimates on projects I would like completed around the house. We set a time & date for him to come out. On the day of the appointment he called to let me know he was running late, which is fine. Once he arrived we reviewed my wish list. I explained that it consisted of projects that I would like done now and some were projects for the future. Dave took lots of pictures and gave some suggestions. He seemed a little offended when I completely ruled out one of the suggestions right away. He had asked a few times during the list what my budget was and I did not tell him. At the end of the list I did give him a ball park that I was willing to spend at this time. Dave then told me that he was not going to spend a lot of time on the estimate and made a comment that if I were to keep up on the repairs that it would not take such a big bite out of my pocket all at once. I know that my house needs work, it old. I do at least one project a year. It's been just over 2 weeks and I still do not have an estimate. I would not have hired him to complete any work after his leaving comments, but I don't understand why he took do many pictures of my house. He had to have known buy going through my house & our conversation that the budget was not limitless. In the end I just thought Dave was rude & unprofessional.

The men were very professional and did an excellent job.

The team who did the painting did an exceptional job. I used an Angie's list coupon and paid some extra to have the team finish the entire lower level.

The service turned out extremely well. I paid more than the initial $299 that I purchased the big deal for, but that is because I had them do some additional work.

Dave Beck and I discussed the job, and scheduled the day. Brady came out and immediately went to work - just to ensure we got as much done as possible, Dave also sent Greg out about half way through the day. I can only describe Brady as a young hungry worker, and Greg as a more experienced and skilled worker - and they no each other well. they divided up the work, Brady would bring Greg when necessary, and both would get the work done. at the end of the first day, there were still a few items on the punch list - including replacing some old hardware. Greg took the bull by the horns and grabbed some samples, and decided the best thing to do would be to go to wooden nickel for replacement parts - great, because now all the hardware is in the right place, and working. The punch list is now complete, and I couldn't be happier. Types of work performed: hole in drywall fixed tightening and aligning kitchen cabinets replace toilet seats replace light bulbs fix smoke detectors replace hvac filters repair furniture (chairs, tables, buffet, cabinets) replace window hardware (old house) help diagnose appliance problems no job too small, and while some were too big (appliance repair) - they worked hard to get the entire list done. I have already referred the "Classy Craftsman" to others - and will continue to do so.

My interaction with them was OK. The original time of the appointment couldn't be capped. There was something going on personally with the person I was interfacing with, so he couldn't make it out. They just kind of kept lingering and getting delayed. I didn't think the communication was as good as it could have been.

As I was moving there was a strict dead line to meet and Dave and painters and carpenters met it.All of them were polite and professional. Dave did a whole house inspection around the first of May and I received the proposal a few days later which I immediately accepted. The job was completed within 4 weeks. I am fully satisfied with the work.

Took forever for him to call me back. Left several messages for Dave. When he did finally call back he was very quick to set the appointment. On the appointment day he arrived on time to look at the painting I needed completed. I was very clear to say the work could begin ASAP! It has now been over a week and I still dont even have an estimate. It would be nice if people could just be up front about things. If you dont want to do the work, just tell me and I will find someone else. When you promise someone an estimate and cant even provide that in a timely manner, what makes you think I would use you to do any work in my home.......

He was awesome. I have referred him to other people. He showed up on time, friendly, professional and did what he said he was going to do.

This was the absolute worst experience. The back door was installed, the shutters on the the front of the house were re-applied but falling off again within a matter of 2 months. My bath tub facet worked for about a month and now there is no water pressure at all. The kitchen cabinet hinge was not replaced because the handyman stated he could not find a hinge that would fit so he replaced a hinge from another cabinet that was not used as ofter and put the broken one on the other cabinet door. Then when the basement ceiling was repaired and repainted nothing in my basement was moved or draped. All of my furniture and electronics were covered with specks of paint. My brand new X-box 360 had to be returned to Microsoft because of sanding dust in the console and none of the light fixtures were put back into place. The handyman was never on time, came and went and it took over 2 weeks to complete what he did. Needless to say we were furious! We addressed the company and we greeted with apologies and were not responsible for any of the bill. They also sent someone back out to finish and fix the basement ceiling but none of the other repairs were fixed. I am very skeptical now to use anyone else for repairs so there is a lot still broken at my house :(

Love these guys. Dave Beck is fun and creative to work with. Lots of out the box ideas and will change and modify the project as it goes forward. The work crew are great. I am very happy havign these guys in my house and around my small children. Nice guys, keep mess as cleaned up as can be. Second major project with company and look forward to the next one.

Work was completed quickly and satisfactorily. However I have been unable to contact them since, either by phone or email.

The work was accomplished in a very efficient manner, with minimal disruption. Dave Beck's workers are always careful to work around our schedules.

The project went very well overall. Dave provided a detailed quote and was able to handle all of the projects we had on our list. He also recommended a few additional projects that were interesting to us. They were able to start relatively quickly and they finished on schedule. They worked around our schedule on a daily basis and they left the work site in great shape every day. This includes cleanliness and they minimized how much equipment/supplies they left in the main areas of the house. Their workers are nice, professional and they arrived on time daily. Their painting and carpentry work are top notch. The other nice thing is they can handle nearly any kind of job. They did both interior and exterior painting for us, installed appliances, new lighting, new crown molding and did a variety of other smaller handyman types of jobs. We would most certainly recommend them.

When I didn't receive a call back within a day or two, I called a second time to schedule a free estimate. We set up a time for him to look at my project, and he was an hour late in arriving. He was very nice and described how he would complete the bathroom remodel. He also took the time to look around the house to evaluate other projects - window install, steps repair, etc. He said that he would get a quote to me within 1 or 2 days. It's been a week and a half and I'm still waiting to hear back from this company.
